Chapter 359 I Actually Work with the Boss's Wife
Elizabeth looked incredulous, staring at Willow with wide eyes, and hesitantly spoke, "Don't tell me Mr. Jonah's girlfriend is you."
Willow awkwardly smiled, then nodded, delivering a fatal blow to Elizabeth. Elizabeth was completely dumbfounded, standing there in a daze.
With a look of apology, Willow said, "I'm sorry, Elizabeth. I didn't mean to keep it from you..."
As Elizabeth slowly regained her senses, she murmured to herself, "So, Mr. Jonah's girlfriend actually sits across from me, and I've been dragging her to eat spicy food every day, taking advantage of the company's benefits."
"Elizabeth…" Willow lowered her head, feeling a bit embarrassed. Spicy food and taking advantage of company benefits were actually her hobbies. "Don't be mad. How about I treat you to lunch today?"
Just then, Elizabeth excitedly grabbed Willow's hand and asked, "Willow, am I the first one to know?"
Willow nodded.
Elizabeth's pride swelled. "Being friends with Mr. Jonah's girlfriend is quite the feather in my cap. For lunch, I want to have Japanese cuisine. Spicy food no longer suits your refined taste."
Willow sighed, "Elizabeth, please don't tell anyone else. If it gets out, we won't be able to be as carefree as we are now at work."
"Fine, but isn't it easy for others to find out about you two?" Elizabeth recalled the blurry figure in the photo taken last time. "No wonder the clothes on that blurry figure looked so familiar. It wasn't just my imagination."
Willow could only give a sheepish grin. "You've got such sharp eyes."
"Come on, you're around me every day. I know what colors you wear." Elizabeth felt it wasn't her sharp eyesight; it was pretty obvious. She shouldn't have been fooled back then, or she would have noticed long ago.
"How did you and Mr. Jonah get together? How long has it been?" Elizabeth, burning with curiosity, continued to inquire, "Did you just make it official recently? That's why Mr. Jonah has been coming down more often lately. Last time, he unexpectedly joined our meeting. It turns out he deliberately confused everyone just to see you."
Blushing, Willow nodded, unable to refute. Elizabeth had even figured out when they got together.
Mitchell seemed to always come down to the fifteenth floor recently, either to attend their meetings or to see their manager for something. Since she wouldn't go up to his floor, Mitchell would come down himself.
"How did you two get together? An office romance?" Elizabeth had to get to the bottom of it before getting an answer.
Willow bit her lip, looking troubled, and explained her identity in detail. After finishing, she looked at Elizabeth despondently. "Elizabeth, can we still have meals together in the future?"
When she first joined the company, she came in as an intern and worked her way up from the grassroots. It wasn't that she deliberately hid her background; no one asked, and she just didn't mention it. She had always worked diligently and conscientiously in the company, which prevented anyone from suspecting her ties.
Elizabeth was so surprised that she couldn't close her mouth for a long time.
"Elizabeth, are you okay?" Willow waved a hand in front of her. It was time to go to work, so Willow led her out, instructing her, "Keep it a secret for me."
After being led back to her seat by Willow, Elizabeth took a while to come to her senses. Then she sent a message to Willow on Facebook. Elizabeth: [Two meals. After all, you're Mr. Nelson's sister and Mr. Jonah's girlfriend!]
Willow replied with a simple "okay" and a pleasing emoji.
As lunchtime approached, Willow sent a message to Mitchell on Facebook.
Willow: [Mitchell, I can't have lunch with you today.]
He quickly replied: [Why?] They had agreed in the morning, but Willow seemed to be standing him up again. Mitchell sat in front of his computer, feeling gloomy, thinking he might as well not come to work if he had to sneak around like this.
[Elizabeth, our colleague in the office and in my project group, knows about our relationship.] Willow quickly typed out a message and sent it to Mitchell.
Mitchell raised an eyebrow slightly, feeling inexplicably better. Elizabeth knowing about someone like him didn't matter much, but the fact that someone knew was important. Mitchell: [What does her knowing have to do with our lunch?]
Willow: [I'm taking her out for lunch, Japanese cuisine.]
Mitchell thought for a moment. [Let's all have lunch together then.]
Willow looked at Mitchell's message and didn't react immediately, unsure if he meant he wanted to join them. She hurried to the stairwell and called Mitchell.
"Mitchell…" Her soft and gentle voice made Mitchell's heart race, eager to see her.
"Have you decided where to eat?" Mitchell asked directly.
"Not yet, probably at the mall next to the office," Willow replied.
"I'll make the reservation. You guys just head over after I'm done, and I'll come find you," Mitchell replied and made the arrangements.
After hanging up, Willow couldn't figure out why she had called him. Mitchell's deep and pleasant voice made her forget everything. Truthfully, she missed him too.
They hadn't seen each other for half a day.
Willow and Elizabeth headed to the restaurant. Mitchell had reserved a table at a high-end Japanese restaurant in the mall and sent Willow the details.
Elizabeth kept exclaiming all the way, "Willow, is Mr. Jonah really coming to have lunch with us? Are we really going to the super expensive Japanese restaurant on the top floor?"
Willow patiently nodded. "Yes."
Since she told Elizabeth that Mitchell would join them for lunch and had reserved a spot at the neighboring mall's Japanese restaurant, Elizabeth seemed dumbfounded, constantly confirming with her until they sat in the private room, still seeming in disbelief.
"Willow, it's amazing. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to eat here. I'm so touched." After sitting down, Elizabeth exaggeratedly held onto Willow's arm.
"Alright, alright, it won't be the first time. I owe you two meals, right?" Willow chuckled as she poured water for her.
Elizabeth hurriedly took the glass. "Oh, just leave things like this to me." Willow couldn't help but laugh at her antics.
Just as they sat down, the door to the private room opened, and Mitchell walked in with a smile, his gentle gaze fixed on Willow.
