Chapter 436 Going to See Madison
Seeing Willow's shy and blushing face, Daniel knew for sure it had happened and hurriedly asked, "Did it hurt? That's what they say online."
"No, it didn't." Willow's face was flushed.
Actually, she didn't feel much discomfort, probably because Mitchell was very gentle...
"Really? So the internet was lying?" Daniel was ready to get to the bottom of it.
Willow quickly put down the magazine she was holding, stood up, and rushed to the bathroom. "I'm going to take a shower."
Daniel, bursting with curiosity, was still tilting her head, pondering the question of 'pain or no pain.'
Mitchell and Willow stayed at the villa for one night and returned to Mitchell's apartment the next day.
Willow took the gifts she had prepared for Madison and the two little ones to Nelson Mansion.
Madison had already passed the first trimester. Although her pregnancy wasn't very visible yet, she looked well-nourished, seemingly having gained some weight.
When they arrived, only Matthew and Madison were home. William had gone out for a walk.
Madison was delighted to see them. Ever since she got pregnant, Matthew had been overly cautious with her, treating her like a fragile doll. Although she knew he was just being overly concerned, she still felt a bit stifled.
Willow chatted with her in the living room while Matthew and Mitchell went to the study to discuss the work in Maple City.
"Madison, you look like you've gained quite a bit of weight. Your face is fuller," Willow said with a smile, eyeing Madison.
"Yeah, I've gained about fifteen pounds since I got pregnant," Madison said, troubled. "Matthew and William have Valerie cooking all sorts of delicious food every day. William has also been fishing a lot lately, bringing home buckets of fish. I don't know how much fish I've eaten."
"It is great! The baby will be healthy and smart," Willow said, reaching out to Madison. "Madison, can I touch your belly?"
"Sure," Madison replied with a smile.
Willow carefully placed her hand on Madison's belly. It was amazing to think there was a little baby inside.
As she was gently touching it, Matthew and Mitchell came down from the study.
Willow and Mitchell didn't plan to stay for dinner since she had taken a long leave from work and needed to get back to prepare for her return.
Willow mentioned she needed to go back and pack, so Madison didn't insist they stay. She just asked them to visit more often when they had time, and Willow happily agreed.
After returning to the apartment, they stopped by the supermarket downstairs to buy some groceries.
The supermarket had good steaks, so they decided to have steak for dinner. Even though they had just come back from Maple City and had eaten plenty of authentic steaks there, Willow surprisingly found herself enjoying tender steaks paired with a glass of red wine. It felt very satisfying.
Mitchell's cooking skills could almost replicate the authentic taste of Maple City steaks. However, tonight Willow didn't dare drink any alcohol and instead poured herself some juice. When he saw her grabbing the juice from the fridge, he raised an eyebrow and asked, "Don't you drink tonight?"
Willow quickly waved her hand and shook her head, saying, "No, I have work tomorrow."
Mitchell smiled slightly, looking at her without saying anything.
It seemed like Willow knew she got a bit wild after drinking. Her tipsy, dreamy-eyed look was incredibly alluring. Feeling guilty, she lowered her head andtouched her nose, and her ears turned red. She took a big gulp of the juice she had just poured.
After eating the steak, neither of them felt sleepy, probably because they had napped during the day.
Mitchell had discussed work with Matthew during the day and still had some documents to handle, so he went to the study to look up some information.
Willow took a shower and lay in bed scrolling through her phone. She first browsed Facebook, checking out some celebrity gossip, and then looked at Stories. While she was on Stories, a message popped up in the group chat with Daniel and Ophelia.
Ophelia: [Willow, where's Joseph's autographed photo? Daniel got hers. Why didn't I get mine!]
She had been busy filming yesterday and didn't rest until midnight, so she only just found out that Willow had dinner with Joseph and brought back autographed photos.
Willow: [I saved it for you. I'll bring it next time we meet.]
Ophelia: [Liam is so annoying. I watched Joseph's movie with him before, and he never mentioned he knew Joseph. I'm so mad.]
Daniel: [Yeah, they're all too much.]
Willow: [Before we went to dinner, Mitchell didn't tell me we were meeting Joseph. You should've seen my face when he opened the door. I was completely stunned.]
The three girls then moved on to other topics.
When Mitchell finished his work and walked into the room, he saw Willow lying on the bed, typing on her phone casually. She was wearing a two-piece pajama set that covered her well, but her feet were swinging back and forth.
It was getting colder, but luckily the room was warm with the heater on.
Mitchell looked at her lying on the bed and smiled indulgently before heading to the bathroom to take a shower.
Willow was so engrossed in her phone that she didn't even notice he had entered the room. She was chatting animatedly with Daniel and Ophelia.
Daniel: [Willow, my brother's birthday is next month. What are you getting him?]
Willow suddenly remembered. Mitchell's birthday was at the end of this month, October 31st, easy to remember.
In the past, his birthdays were usually celebrated with everyone at a bar, which was closed to the public for the night. Back then, they didn't know each other's feelings, and Willow always carefully prepared gifts in advance.
She had given him ties, shirts, and pens before. This year was especially significant since it was their first birthday together as a couple, so she was having a hard time deciding what to get him.
Willow: [I haven't decided yet.]
Daniel: [Why not just wrap yourself up as a gift? He'd love that.]
Ophelia: [Daniel, that's a bold idea. But... it sounds good.]
Willow was speechless.
She really needed to think carefully about this year's birthday gift.
