Chapter 501 Morning Sickness Arrives

After that Christmas dinner, Willow felt queasy the next morning. She threw up after breakfast, lost her appetite, and felt tightness in her chest. She couldn't eat anything and dry-heaved several times, which freaked Mitchell out. By the afternoon, he rushed her to the hospital.

The results came back normal, and the doctor said it was likely just morning sickness.

Still worried, Mitchell asked, "Doc, are you sure she's okay? She ate a ton yesterday. She's been puking non-stop."

The doctor adjusted his glasses, glanced at the report again, and said seriously, "Everything's within normal range. Morning sickness varies; some have it mild, others severe. Just take care of her, have her eat small, frequent meals, and keep an eye on her. If it gets worse, come back."

With no other choice, Mitchell took Willow home.

Willow felt lousy all day, vomiting several times. As soon as they got in the car, she started dry-heaving again.

Mitchell quickly pulled over, gently patted her back, and asked, "Honey, you okay? Still feeling bad?"

His eyes were full of concern. He remembered Madison hadn't vomited this much when she was pregnant. The sudden change made him feel awful too.

Willow dry-heaved a few times, then reassured him, "I'm okay now, feeling a bit better."

Mitchell only restarted the car after making sure she was alright.

As soon as they walked in the door, Danielle and the two moms rushed out to ask about the check-up results, with the two dads following behind, all looking anxious.

"The doctor said everything's normal. It's just morning sickness," Mitchell said with a frown, and everyone finally relaxed.

Jessica asked Willow if she wanted to eat anything, offering to make it for her. Willow shook her head. "Mom, I'm not hungry right now. I'll eat later. I'm going to lie down for a bit."

"Alright, go rest. Eat whatever you want when you wake up," Jessica urged Mitchell to take her upstairs.

Patricia looked at her daughter with a pained expression. She remembered her own severe morning sickness when she was pregnant with Willow, which was why Lloyd insisted on having only one child.

She recalled liking the spaghetti Willow's grandmother used to make, so she quickly said, "Willow, do you want some spaghetti? I'll make some for you later."

"Yes, I'd like that. Thanks, Mom," Willow said, thinking of her grandmother's spaghetti, which made her feel a bit hungry.

Patricia hurried to the kitchen to prepare the spaghetti, and Jessica followed to help.

Danielle looked at Willow's pale face and felt heartbroken. "Mitchell, hurry up and take Willow to the room. She looks so scary. Pregnancy is really terrifying."

"I can walk by myself," Willow quickly said.

It wasn't that bad; she just felt a bit queasy and had no appetite, with some smells making her nauseous.

Mitchell bent down and scooped her up in a princess hold, heading upstairs. Once in the room, he gently placed her on the bed, his face still clouded with worry.

Willow touched his furrowed brow and smiled, "Honey, it's really okay. It's probably just my body reacting more strongly. The doctor said the baby is fine."

"It kills me to see you like this," Mitchell said, looking gloomy.

Willow patted the spot next to her, signaling him to lie down with her.

Mitchell took off his jacket and lay down beside her. After some serious thought, he said, "Honey, you asked me before if I preferred a boy or a girl. I've thought about it, and it doesn't matter. We're only having this one child."

"Why?" Willow was instantly agitated. If she hadn' t beenfeeling so uncomfortable, she would have sat up to question him.

"Pregnancy is too hard on you. I can't stand seeing you suffer like this. You've just started, and you're already vomiting so much. It'll be even harder when your belly gets bigger. One child is enough," Mitchell said seriously. He really only wanted Willow to go through this once.

"But one child might be lonely. Look at how well you get along with Danielle. I don't feel that bad now; it's much better. The doctor said morning sickness is normal," Willow said, unwilling to give up. She had been thinking of having one boy and one girl, but how could she do that if Mitchell didn't agree?

"Matthew has three kids. Victor, Liam, Patrick, and Danielle will all get married and have kids. Our baby won't be lonely. It'll be very lively," Mitchell said thoughtfully. Their kids would definitely grow up together, so they wouldn't be lonely at all.

"But..." Willow was about to argue, but then she felt uncomfortable again and started dry-heaving. Since she hadn't eaten much today, she couldn't throw up anything, just dry-heaving.

Mitchell immediately sat up, nervously asking, "Are you still uncomfortable? Do you need some water? I'll get you some. You lie down first." He quickly ran out of the room to get water.

Willow felt like crying but had no tears. This sickness was really too much.

In the following days, she truly experienced the severe morning sickness her mom had told her about. No wonder her dad didn't want her mom to have another child. She couldn't eat anything, even water made her want to throw up. It was really quite uncomfortable.

Mitchell was heartbroken seeing her like this and stayed by her side without leaving.

One night, Willow was lying in bed while Mitchell came out of the shower. The smell of his shampoo made her feel so uncomfortable that she quickly reached out to stop him. "Honey, don't come over."

"What's wrong?" Mitchell looked hurt.

"Shampoo," Willow said, covering her nose and mouth.

"What's wrong with the shampoo?" Mitchell didn't understand. He had always used this shampoo.

"The smell makes me uncomfortable," Willow finally said, holding her breath.

Mitchell quickly went back to the bathroom and washed his hair again with Willow's shampoo before coming out.

From then on, all the shampoo, body wash, hand soap, and laundry detergent in the house were changed.

Even Patricia couldn't help but say, "This baby has a lot of demands, even more than when I was pregnant with Willow. Looks like this one's going to be a handful."
