Chapter 264 Breakfast

The next morning, Willow woke up feeling refreshed and without any runny nose. Though she still coughed occasionally, she decided to go to work at the company.

After freshening up, she grabbed her bag and headed downstairs, planning to buy two custard-filled buns from the convenience store below the apartment as her breakfast. Their custard buns tasted good, and Willow often bought them in the morning. As she came out of the convenience store carrying the two buns, she realized she needed to remember to take her car keys. She tapped her head, realizing how forgetful she had become due to being sick. Luckily, she had left early today; otherwise, she would definitely be late after this inconvenience.

Carrying the two buns, Willow was about to turn back to get her car keys when she noticed a familiar car parked at the entrance of the apartment. How could Mitchell's car be here?

Confused, Willow walked over. The driver's window rolled down just as she reached the car door. Mitchell sat inside wearing a sleek suit and a simple white shirt with a neatly tied tie. He exuded an air of elegance and charm, with a slight upward curve at the corner of his mouth.

"Mitchell? What are you doing here?" Willow asked, surprised.
Mitchell's discomfort grew as he coughed lightly and made an excuse, "I happened to be dropping off my parents at a nearby friend's house this morning, so I thought I'd stop by to see you." In reality, Mitchell had purposely come to wait for Willow, wanting to see how she was doing today. He even brought breakfast for her. As soon as he parked his car, he saw her walking out of the convenience store. His car was parked in a prominent location at the apartment complex's entrance, and he knew she would definitely notice him. He watched her approach his vehicle through the rearview mirror, and his heart started pounding loudly. Throughout the long years, the restrained emotions and waiting and the continuous stream of love all exploded like beautiful fireworks the moment he made his decision. Although the two of them would often spend time alone together in the past, it had never felt as nerve-wracking as it did at this moment. Even his fingers that had just pressed the window button were trembling slightly.

Willow didn't notice Mitchell's reddening ears when he spoke, thinking that he had indeed just happened to pass by. A brilliant smile appeared on her face, and in Mitchell's eyes, it was like the rising sun. In an instant, the radiant light illuminated the whole world. She smiled and said, "I'm almost completely recovered from my cold. I was planning on going to work today."

Seeing her lively and energetic appearance, she was doing well. "Then, let's get in the car and go to work together," Mitchell suggested.

Willow realized that she didn't need to go back to get her car keys. She could take a taxi home after work. Excitedly hopping around, she went to the passenger side, opened the car door, and got in Mitchell's car.

Once Willow was comfortably seated and had her seatbelt secured, Mitchell reached back and retrieved a bag from a hook, offering it to her. "I picked up some breakfast items for you. We've got bagels, muffins, and a carton of milk—choose whatever you fancy." Willow peered into the bag, pleasantly surprised by the variety. Her own simple purchase of two pastries from the convenience store suddenly seemed rather unadventurous. "I just grabbed a couple of pastries for breakfast," she admitted.

"Feel free to pick what you like, and I'll take care of the rest. I skipped breakfast, too," Mitchell said as he ignited the engine and steered the car toward the JK Group headquarters.

Without hesitation, Willow set aside her pastries and dived into the breakfast Mitchell had brought. She enjoyed a cinnamon raisin bagel and a blueberry muffin, washing them down with a generous sip of milk, all the while chatting animatedly. At a red light, Mitchell stole a glance at her. Her cheeks were filled with food, giving her an endearingly chipmunk-like appearance. A smile crept onto his face, and he couldn't resist teasing, "Good, isn't it?"

Willow had a mouthful of muffins and milk and nodded vigorously. Her response was unclear, "Yes, delicious." Suddenly, Mitchell said, "I want to taste it too." Just as he finished speaking, the green light turned on, and the car continued driving forward. Willow had just handed the bag of muffins to Mitchell when he hadn't had a chance to take a bite, but he looked ahead and continued to drive. Willow held the muffin blankly, watching the car move forward, wondering how she could taste it. She couldn't just stop on the roadside to take a bite. Just as she was about to put the muffin back, she heard Mitchell's pleasant voice continue, "Feed me a bite, let me taste it."

Willow hesitated, unsure of how to proceed. The thought of feeding him felt rather intimate and a bit odd.

Mitchell, however, maintained his focus on the road, feigning an air of concentration as he drove. With a hint of playfulness in his voice, he lamented, "I skipped breakfast today, and now I'm quite hungry."

Upon realizing that he hadn't eaten, Willow acted swiftly. She unwrapped a muffin and leaned toward him, holding it up to his mouth. Mitchell accepted the offering with a graceful bite, managing not to leave a single crumb on his lips. He chewed thoughtfully and complimented, "This is really good." For the remainder of the journey, Willow found herself engaged in the unexpected task of feeding him, and he seemed to enjoy every bite.

As they pulled into the parking garage of the JK Group building, Mitchell had just finished the muffin. Once the car was parked, Willow handed him the two pastries she had originally bought. "Mitchell, here are the two pastries I got earlier. They're all yours. I already had half of the milk, so I'll just take that with me," she said as she opened the door and hopped out of the car.

Mitchell accepted the pastries, his attention momentarily captured by the half-finished carton of milk in her hand. "Was the milk good?" he inquired. Willow seemed puzzled by his question, glancing between the carton and Mitchell. Realizing what he was implying, she offered the carton to him and said, "Mitchell, would you like some? Though, I've already had a drink from it. Perhaps I could get you a fresh one tomorrow."

Mitchell awkwardly turned his face away, his cheeks blushing slightly. He said, "You drink it." Then he turned and walked toward the elevator. Willow followed him into the elevator. It was still early, so they were the only ones in the elevator. Willow stood beside Mitchell, lowered her head, and looked at the half-bag of milk in her hand. She had originally planned to take it upstairs and throw it away because she couldn't finish it. She had eaten all the dumplings and even a muffin – she was really full. She thought seriously and realized that Mitchell really wanted to drink it if he spoke up. It would be a shame to throw it away. So, she decided to give it to Mitchell. She could pour it out and drink it herself.

When the elevator reached the 15th floor, Willow handed Mitchell the half-bag of Milk and said, "Mitchell, just drink it from the cup." After saying that, she quickly ran out of the elevator, leaving Mitchell standing there with the half-bag of Milk and two cream-filled buns in his hands.

After realizing what had happened, Mitchell couldn't help but laugh. This girl really thought he wanted to drink Milk. He only thought she hadn't finished it and didn't like it, so he planned to switch to fresh milk next time.
