Chapter 513 Unexpected Conversation in the Elevator

Elizabeth would sometimes fill Willow in on the company's drama, especially about that two-faced girl and Mitchell's cold demeanor.

One day, Danielle came home early, and Willow couldn't wait to spill the tea about the new girl in the project department.

Hearing that the girl was messing with her brother, Danielle slapped her thigh and said, "I've seen plenty like her. You should go to the company, show your status, and put her in her place."

Encouraged by Danielle, Willow told Jessica the next day that staying home all day wasn't good and she wanted to visit the company and bring lunch to Mitchell.

Jessica thought Willow missed her husband and quickly arranged a driver and a car. She packed a large thermos with food and said with a smile, "I packed enough for both of you. Take it to the company and have lunch with Mitchell. Don't worry. I won't tell him. He'll be pleasantly surprised."

She winked as she finished speaking.

Willow, a bit shy, blushed, took the thermos, and said, "Thanks, Mom," before quickly getting into the car.

Reminded by Jessica, she didn't tell Mitchell she was coming, wanting to surprise him.

After the driver dropped her off at JK Group, Willow let him go. She planned to stay at the company for a while and go home with Mitchell after work. Carrying her pregnant belly and the thermos, she walked into the familiar building.

It was still half an hour before lunch, so the lobby wasn't crowded. The receptionist recognized her and greeted her warmly, saying she hadn't changed much except for her bigger belly. Willow, loving the compliment, walked into the elevator with a big smile.

The elevator stopped on the 3rd floor, and a few people got in. They weren't from the project department, but Willow found them somewhat familiar and didn't greet them. She moved to the corner, holding the thermos in one hand and protecting her belly with the other.

The elevator stopped again on the 10th floor, and two girls walked in, holding coffee and chatting.

Elizabeth had mentioned that the previously empty office on the 10th floor had been turned into a coffee shop, offering free coffee and afternoon tea as an employee perk. She said she got coffee and a small chocolate cake every day, and the cake was delicious. She told Willow she had to try it when she returned to work.

Willow didn't pay much attention to the two girls with coffee, but when the elevator stopped on the 10th floor, she remembered Elizabeth's mention of the chocolate cake and decided to try it in the afternoon.

At that moment, the two girls with coffee started chatting in the elevator.

Willow overheard them talking about her husband.

"Savannah, did you find out what Mr. Jonah likes?" one asked.

Hearing 'Mr. Jonah', Willow couldn't help but listen carefully.

"Of course, there's nothing I can't handle," the tall girl replied confidently.

Willow glanced at the two girls, one tall and one short. She recognized the tall one from the photo Elizabeth had sent of the new intern.

They kept talking, and Willow listened closely, not wanting to miss anything.

"But I heard Mr. Jonah is really good to his wife. She used to work in the project team before she got pregnant, and everyone says she's nice," the short girl said.

"So what? No man in this world doesn't cheat. If he doesn't, it means the temptation isn't big enough. Plus, his wife is pregnant, so her body must be out of shape, and she can't satisfy him," the tall girl said bluntly.

The elevator reached the 15th floor, and the two walked out, still chatting.

Willow was shocked and furious.

'Are girls really this bold nowadays? They know he is married and still tried to seduce him.'

Thinking this girl graduated from a prestigious university, Willow thought it was a disgrace to her education. Academic level and moral level clearly weren't the same. 'How did such a person get hired?'

The elevator reached the 16th floor.

Willow, carrying the thermos, stormed out, so angry that the remaining people in the elevator didn't realize she was Mitchell's wife.

As soon as she walked into the 16th-floor office area, Mitchell's secretary, Amy, saw her.

Amy, always sharp, greeted Willow with a series of compliments, saying, "Mrs. Jonah, you haven't changed at all except for your belly. You're still so beautiful. You should come to the company more often. Everyone misses you, and the new interns in the project team should see how excellent you are."

Willow replied with a smile, "Thank you, Amy. I'll definitely come more often."

Amy, having been with the company for years, immediately saw through the intern's tricks.

Although Mitchell completely ignored her, the young girl was indeed skillful, always finding excuses to deliver documents and report work.

Amy had subtly warned her, but the girl openly tried to seduce a married man. Unfortunately, she hadn't made any mistakes at work, and Mitchell hadn't caused any trouble.

Moreover, the girl behaved very obediently in front of Mitchell, so as subordinates, Amy couldn't say much. She had even gone to the HR director to inquire about her background, confirming she was a regular intern recruited from a reputable school with no special background.

Amy saw the girl as a schemer, wasting a good opportunity to be recruited through campus placement by not focusing on work and instead thinking of shortcuts.

Such girls were a threat to any married woman and were only liked by men.

Seeing Willow carrying the thermos, Amy said with a smile, "Looks like Mr. Jonah's lunch will be taken care of by the secretarial center. I didn't know you were coming, so I ordered lunch for him."

"I decided to come on a whim. Sorry for making your job difficult," Willow said, knowing that Mitchell's lunch would have been ordered in advance.

"It's no trouble at all. The girls will be happy to have a free lunch. Thank you for them, Mrs. Jonah," Amy, being the head of the secretarial center, was good with words. "You go find Mr. Jonah. I won't delay your lunch together."

Willow smiled and walked towards Mitchell's office with the thermos.
