Chapter 136 Banquet Chaos
Matthew, without speaking, knew that checking the surveillance was crucial to pinpointing Madison's whereabouts. He nodded briefly, leaving his phone number. "If you hear anything, call me immediately," then hurried off toward the hotel's security office.
"Hmm," Hank quickly departed as well, heading toward the elevator.
Brianna had yet to see Matthew around the auction and came out looking for him. She spotted him rushing by and immediately called out to him.
"Matt, where are you headed? The auction is about to start."
Matthew didn't even slow down, replying offhandedly, "Something came up. I'm skipping the auction."
Brianna's expression faltered, sensing complications and feeling a sense of worry.
She swiftly grabbed Matthew's arm, probing with feigned concern, "What's wrong? You look upset. Something happened?"
Matthew had no time to engage with her, and his anger was barely contained. "Please let go, Miss Smith. It's urgent. My wife is missing."
Brianna's heart skipped a beat - he had noticed Madison's absence! Still trying to figure out the current status with Mr. Lee, her thoughts raced to keep Matthew from finding Madison too quickly.
Brianna had no illusions about keeping Matthew in the dark forever. The incident happened right here in the hotel, and finding Madison was inevitable. All she needed was to stall Matthew long enough for Mr. Lee to secure his victory, and by then, it would be too late to change anything.
"Madison," she scoffed to herself, "let's see if Matthew will still want you after this. And even if he doesn't mind, with Madison's stubborn pride, she won't be able to stand by his side. It's better if she leaves on her own."
Brianna clung to Matthew, unwilling to let go. "Has Mrs. Johnson really disappeared? Aren't you being a bit overcautious? She's an adult. She can't just vanish. Maybe she had an urgent matter and had to leave first."
She feigned concern. "Don't stress. Why don't you give her a call and see if anyone has seen her?"
Matthew felt the best way to find her was to check the security footage. He didn't want to waste any more words on Brianna.
"Let go."
He left without a backward glance.
Brianna watched him leave, her expression one of infatuation. "Matthew, your so-called pure goddess is already under someone else's control, tainted. You'll realize soon enough that we are the perfect match."
Madison was dragged to a hotel room upstairs by Mr. Lee. As soon as he opened the door, the eager man pulled her onto the bed. Pinching the flesh on her thigh harshly, she tried to stay lucid as she struggled to get up.
The man felt she was no longer able to escape and stood by the bed, smirking sleazily as he took off his shirt and began unbuckling his belt. "Easy there, my beauty. I'll be with you in a moment, and you'll definitely enjoy it."
He quickly unbuckled his belt, lowered his pants, and aggressively moved towards her. Madison fought desperately to escape, but the drug in her system had reached its peak, making her struggles futile against him.
"Don't touch me, get off, let go!" she cried out, hitting him wildly.
The man, finding Madison's beauty captivating, couldn't help but be amused, considering her presence beside Matthew. As he reached out to grab her dress, Madison felt a wave of despair washing over her, determined that she would rather die than endure assault.
Suddenly, her hand found an ashtray on the nightstand. With all her might, she smashed it against the man's head.
Caught off guard, he let out a yell, dazed for a moment. When he touched his head, his hand came away bloody. Madison had managed to wound him.
This enraged him. Despite the wound on his head, it didn't stop his intentions.
As the man was momentarily dazed, Madison seized the opportunity to get to her feet, fighting to break free. Just as she managed to crack the door open, the older man grabbed her by the hair and forcefully pulled her back inside. Her scream of pain jolted her senses, and she cried out for help, desperately hoping for a miracle.
The older man, having lost his patience from the earlier assault, slapped Madison hard across the face. "You ungrateful wench, you snub my kindness for punishment? Just because Matthew keeps you? How many times has he had you? How much does he pay you? I'll double it for a good time. Drop the act of purity."
Her cheek began to swell slightly, and her scalp throbbed with pain. The drugs in her system heightened her agitation to an unbearable level. If it weren't for the pain in her scalp, she might have already given in.
"You can't even compare to one-tenth, one percent, one-thousandth of Matthew," she taunted, her only clarity coming from the pain. She had faith that Matthew would find her. She had to hold on.
As expected, her words enraged the man further, and he struck her again, blood tricking from the corner of her mouth.
"You'll be begging me before long. Go ahead, scream. No one's coming to help."
He dragged her back to the bed, flung her down, and climbed on top of her.
The gala was on the 18th floor, with guest rooms above. Hank started his search from the 19th floor, hearing noises by the time he reached the 20th. He rushed toward the sounds.
In her previous attempt, Madison opened the door, which the old man failed to close during the chase to retrieve her.
Hank pushed the door effortlessly and charged in to see Madison pinned beneath someone, her dress torn. He burst in and kicked the man off, sending him sprawling to the floor.
He covered Madison with a blanket and ignored the older man's threats to call the police. "You have no right even to know who I am," Hank's voice was icy. "Call the police? I'm interested to see who ends up at the station."
"You can't charge me for consensual sex!" the man yelled out.
"Consensual?" Hank scoffed at the man's audacity, no longer wasting words. Someone else would deal with him soon. He turned to check on Madison, noting her swollen face and bloody lips. Enraged, he landed two more kicks, knocking the man out.
He called Matthew immediately, urging him to come quickly.
Matthew was sifting through surveillance footage when his phone buzzed. Victor, standing by his side, could sense Matthew's fury – someone dared to take Sister away.
President Grayson accompanied them to the security room at the banquet. Grayson wiped the sweat off his brow as he watched the monitors and hurriedly tried to explain, "Matthew, this guy is from a small real estate business. Last name Lee. I had no idea he would pull Something like this. I would never have invited him if I knew."
While still on the phone, Matthew spun on his heel and headed for the door. Victor, knowing he was going to see Sister, followed close behind out of the security room.
