Chapter 508 Finally Together

Rachel was so shocked by the surprise that she covered her mouth. She looked at Nicholas, kneeling with a ring, and seemed a bit lost.

Nicholas, thinking he scared her, stood up, took her hand, and gently said, "Rachel, did I scare you? Don't feel pressured. Just be yourself. It's okay."

Rachel was indeed stunned by the sudden proposal. She gradually snapped out of it and seriously considered her answer.

They had met each other's parents and felt good about it, but that wasn't the main reason for marriage. They loved each other and were a good match, not just settling down with a random one.

Rachel looked at Nicholas and heard her heart's answer. She extended her left hand, smiled gently but firmly, and said, "Yes, I do."

Now, it was Nicholas's turn to be stunned. He thought she might refuse and felt guilty for being so sudden.

Hearing her say 'Yes, I do,' he couldn't believe it. With trembling hands, he put the ring on her finger, struggling a bit due to his excitement.

A girl with a big bouquet of red roses walked over and handed them to Nicholas, who then gave them to Rachel. The girl, an employee at Nicholas's company, had been waiting with the flowers, which Nicholas had bought himself. The roses symbolized his passionate love.

After handing over the roses, the girl quickly ran away, relieved. She had seen the whole scene and was worried the roses wouldn't be given out. But when Rachel extended her hand, and Nicholas, with trembling hands, put the ring on her, she quickly handed over the roses, completing her task.

Nicholas smiled at Rachel, handed her the roses, and the room erupted in cheers and applause. Everyone had been holding their breath, waiting for this moment.

Suddenly, balloons floated down from the ceiling, turning the hall into a sea of balloons. Red rose petals also floated down, filling the air with the scent of roses and romance.

The banquet continued with a cocktail party.

Nicholas took Rachel to receive congratulations from a stream of people, especially their company employees, who were already calling Rachel 'Mrs. Johnson' and wished them a happy life.

Rachel, a workplace veteran, felt a bit embarrassed by these lively and adorable young colleagues.

After the banquet, Nicholas and Rachel went home together, with the large bouquet of roses in the back seat. Both were smiling and couldn't help but look at each other at the traffic lights.

Rachel took the huge bouquet of roses home and placed it on the dining table, which it almost completely covered. It was the first time she had received such a large bouquet. She walked around the table, admiring it from every angle, liking it more and more.

Nicholas watched her with a smile, noting her delight and silently promising to give her more flowers in the future.

Rachel told Nicholas to shower first. As soon as he went into the bathroom, she grabbed her phone and called Madison to share the big news.

"Madison, Nicholas proposed to me tonight at their company's banquet!" Rachel said excitedly, glancing at the ring on her left hand.

Madison was thrilled. She hadn't expected things to move so quickly between them. Nicholas had really pulled off something special.

"Nicholas is amazing, proposing at the company banquet. He really planned it out," Madison said with a smile.

"Yeah, I was so stunned," Rachel replied, still feeling the sweetness of the moment.

"I'm so happy for you two. It's finally happening," Madison said.

"Thanks, Madison," Rachel said earnestly.

They didn't talk long, knowing Madison couldn't chat for too long right now. After hanging up, Rachel immediately called her mom. They talked for a long time.

When Nicholas came out of the shower and saw her on the phone, he didn't disturb her and quietly went back to the bedroom, giving her space.

Esme was thrilled to hear about the proposal. Rachel described the banquet in detail, starting from when Nicholas went on stage to sing.

Esme listened patiently to her daughter's joyful recounting. When Rachel finished, Esme said, "I'm so happy for you."

Hearing her daughter's happiness, Esme felt relieved. Rachel had always been sensible and hardworking, often putting her own feelings aside. Now that she had found Nicholas and was getting married, Esme was naturally happy for her.

"Thanks, Mom," Rachel responded with a smile.

Having lost her father young, Rachel had matured early and had a close, friend-like relationship with her mom. They often shared everything with each other. Tonight, Rachel was so excited she spoke a bit incoherently, but her mom understood.

After finishing the call, Rachel saw they had talked for over an hour. She walked back to the bedroom, where Nicholas was leaning against the headboard, reading with glasses on. He looked different from usual; he only wore glasses when working or reading.

Hearing her footsteps, Nicholas looked up. "Rachel."

Rachel walked over and said, "I was on the phone with Mom. We talked for a long time. I'll go take a shower now."

"Okay, I'll wait for you," Nicholas said, looking at her.

Rachel's face turned red. The words 'I'll wait for you' sounded so suggestive coming from Nicholas!

She quickly grabbed her pajamas and ran into the bathroom.
