Chapter 472 The Last Night

Mitchell noticed that Willow had been staring at her phone the whole time, not even glancing at the TV. He wondered what she was looking at, assuming she was chatting with Danielle and the others again. He had accidentally seen their small group chat the last time he helped her with her phone.

Willow glanced at the name on the screen, feeling very calm and indifferent. After replying to a few comments from Madison and the others, she exited Facebook and put down her phone.

When it came to Jimmy, she always stuck to her principles. If he still wanted to be her friend, she was happy to oblige. If he felt they couldn't be friends anymore, she would never bother him.

It was still early, so she decided to watch TV with Mitchell for a while before going to bed. The TV was playing a series she had been following recently. He had found it for her in advance, and even though he noticed she wasn't paying attention, he didn't change the channel.

In the past, he would never waste time watching TV series. At most, he would watch a movie to relax when work was too stressful or tiring. Following a series was something he would never do because it was too time-consuming.

Since Willow moved in with him, she would watch TV every night after dinner, enjoying everything from variety shows to movies and series.

Once she started watching, she would get completely absorbed. On weekends, she would even stay up late under the covers to binge-watch. Her habits had successfully influenced his lifestyle, and now Mitchell also followed series with her.

He found that these series or comedy shows were more relaxing because they required no mental effort, just a way to unwind.

They turned off the lights in the room, leaving only a floor lamp by the bed. They leaned against the headboard, propped up by pillows, comfortably watching TV. As they watched, Mitchell felt her head slowly lean on his shoulder. He turned slightly to see Willow with her eyes closed, her long eyelashes casting a shadow on her face, breathing evenly, already asleep.

Mitchell looked at her sleeping face with a doting expression. He gently supported her back and waist, laying her down flat. Because he moved so carefully, Willow didn't even frown, instinctively snuggling closer to him, finding a comfortable position, and falling into a deep sleep.

He watched her with a tender smile, feeling both amused and helpless at her familiar koala-like sleeping posture.

They had taken a week off for their honeymoon, staying at a bed and breakfast and exploring the nearby village. Since it wasn't peak tourist season yet, there weren't many guests, and most stayed only two or three days. They were the only ones staying for a week, so they saw several groups of guests come and go.

Over the week, they became familiar with the B&B owner and even some of the villagers and shop owners. When they went for walks, villagers would greet them warmly, making Willow feel like part of the community.

The night before they left, the B&B owner invited them to dinner if they didn't mind. Willow and Mitchell gladly accepted.

That evening, they found out that a few villagers who regularly delivered supplies to the B&B and their children were also invited, making the courtyard lively. The owner explained that the ingredients were brought by everyone, and he just prepared the meal. The table was filled with a feast.

Everyone expressed their reluctance to see them go, inviting them to visit again. Willow and Mitchell nodded repeatedly in agreement. The enthusiastic villagers brought homemade wine to share. Since they were trying to conceive, Mitchell didn't let Willow drink and joined the villagers in drinking.

The wine had a rich aroma, and everyone said it wasn't very strong. At first, Mitchell found it sweet and pleasant, drinking several cups without realizing it. When he started feeling dizzy, he realized the wine was much stronger than the ones at his bar, and he might have gotten drunk without noticing.

He had been enjoying a rare break, interacting with everyone without the usual business scheming. Everyone was genuine and sincere. By the end of the night, he was clearly drunk, and Willow had to help him back to their room.

Fortunately, they were leaving at noon the next day, allowing them to rest a bit longer.

Willow helped Mitchell to their room. As soon as they reached the bed, he collapsed onto it, pulling her down with him.

He was clearly very drunk.

Willow struggled to get up from him holding her.

Mitchell, with a drunken smile and hazy eyes, held her tightly, his eyes red from the alcohol, pleading, "Honey, don't go."

Seeing how drunk he was, Willow softly said, "I'm not going anywhere. Let's change our clothes and then sleep, okay?"

"Okay," Mitchell replied in a hoarse voice. He held her for a while longer before letting go.

Just as Willow got up, there was a knock on the door. She opened it to find a staff member with a bowl of freshly made hangover soup. Willow thanked them repeatedly. She had planned to make some honey water for Mitchell, but the hangover soup was even better.

She placed the soup on the table and turned to see Mitchell struggling to unbutton his shirt, looking uncomfortable. She quickly went over to help, unbuttoning his shirt.

Mitchell was conscious but too drunk to have any strength. Willow worked up a sweat getting his shirt off.

She then prepared to unbuckle his belt. Just as she undid the buckle, Mitchell's hand covered hers, gently stopping her. In a low, hoarse voice, he said, "Honey, we can't try tonight."
