Chapter 262 Is Willow in love?
The room suddenly became very quiet, and Willow occasionally glanced at Mitchell's back. She knew that he was upset, but she didn't know why. They were fine just a moment ago during dinner, but now his face was so dark as if someone owed him money. It was probably related to Laura.
Jimmy was enjoying his meal alone, and the sound of his chewing was unusually loud. In the end, he finished off a plate of shrimp and half a box of roast duck all by himself. After taking off his gloves, he leaned back in his chair and said, "I'm so full. My mouth still wants to eat, but my stomach can't handle it anymore."
Willow glanced at Jimmy and was quite impressed with him. He didn't stop for a moment and finished the entire plate of shrimp. He continued peeling and eating shrimp without pause. Looking at the untouched plate of shrimp on the table, she couldn't help but say, "What about the remaining shrimp? They won't be good tomorrow. You should take them home and give them to your roommate since you haven't eaten them."
Jimmy lazily leaned back in his chair and said, "It's not a big deal. I'll decide later after taking a break."
Willow raised an eyebrow and looked at Jimmy. "Aren't you planning to leave? I can't entertain you as a patient, and your dormitory will close soon."
Willow didn't hesitate to dismiss him.
Jimmy turned his head to look at Mitchell and said loudly, "Then why can he stay? If he's not leaving, I'm not leaving either."
Willow was speechless. She didn't expect this person to be so uncooperative. Mitchell came over specifically to cook for her, and she couldn't just kick him out after using him. However, she couldn't understand why he hadn't left yet and seemed to have no intention of leaving.
Willow stared at Jimmy, trying to come up with a way to refute him. Before she could figure out how to get him to leave, she heard the sound of Mitchell closing his laptop and walking over. Standing by the dining table, he looked down at Jimmy with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. "I am here to take care of the patient while you are here to bring trouble to the patient. So, what do you think?" Willow sat still, realizing that Mitchell was truly angry.
Although Jimmy was sitting in a chair, he was not flustered facing the overwhelmingly powerful Mitchell. He maintained a half-smile expression, and both sides stood their ground. Willow, like a timid turtle, lowered her head in an attempt to minimize her presence. At this moment, the sound of knocking came again, and Willow seemed to spot a savior. She immediately stood up, preparing to rush over and open the door. Just as she stood up, she met Mitchell's sharp gaze. She instantly faltered and anxiously explained, "It should be Daniel who's here. I'll go and open the door." Mitchell remained silent, his eyes fixed on Willow, seemingly not fully believing her words.
Willow opened the door and saw Daniel standing on the doorstep; it was as if she had encountered a savior. She hastily pulled her inside. Daniel bent over to change shoes and asked with concern, "How are you feeling? Have you yet to have dinner? I bought some soup from Yao Ji's shop. We arrived too late, and all the other soups were sold out. Just make do with this for now. Tomorrow, don't go to work. Take the day off. If you feel embarrassed to say..."
After changing her shoes, Daniel carried the soup in her hands and turned around to see the two people in the living room. She froze in place, unable to recover for a while. It wasn't until Willow ran over, taking the bag she was holding and placing it on the dining table, that she finally snapped out of it. "I've already eaten, Daniel. Have you not eaten yet? Come sit down and have some."
Jimmy saw Daniel's arrival and greeted her with his signature smile, warmly selling his shrimp. "Sister, you came too. Come and eat some shrimp. They're really delicious."
Daniel regained her senses and mechanically walked to the dining table, sitting down. She glanced at her brother and then at Jimmy. The atmosphere between the two men was obviously off. Finally, her gaze landed on Willow, but Willow acted as if she hadn't seen her, only focused on lowering her head. Well, she came rushing over, worrying that Willow had no food, but it turned out she was unnecessary. Daniel opened her packed soup and started eating it with Jimmy's shrimp without saying a word. She appeared calm and composed on the surface, but inside, she was already facing turbulent waves. Her eyes kept shifting between the three people. Goodness, what's happening with Willow? Is she trying to provoke someone by getting involved with Mitchell, who she likes, and Jimmy, who likes her?
Daniel looked at Jimmy and couldn't help but admire his ability to pursue someone. Right now, he was wearing gloves to peel shrimp from someone beside Willow. With shrimp in her mouth, Daniel expected the taste to be a little different. She mumbled, "These shrimp taste good. Who bought them?"
Jimmy proudly said, "I told you this place has good food. Senior Sister knows her stuff. I originally bought this for Willow to eat, but she caught a cold and couldn't eat. When Willow is better, I'll take you all to the restaurant together. The taste is even better when it's freshly cooked." Daniel nodded while eating, "Sure, you should eat too. It's awkward for me to eat alone."
Willow quickly interjected, "No need to feel awkward; he's already finished a whole pot by himself." After hearing this, Daniel gave Jimmy a thumbs up and casually asked, "Did you cook all of this food, too?" Just as he finished asking, he felt a cold aura beside him. Daniel turned to see Mitchell sitting there with a dark expression. Only then did he realize a question—how did Mitchell end up here?
Seeing Mitchell's dark expression, Willow hurriedly explained, "Mitchell cooked all of this." Daniel was slightly stunned and choked on his food. Mitchell had cooked it. It was actually Mitchell who cooked! Mitchell usually finds cooking troublesome for himself, yet he especially came over to cook for Willow. No wonder when she mistakenly thought Jimmy had prepared dinner earlier, Mitchell had that constipated expression on his face.
Mitchell handed Daniel a glass of water and coldly said, "Silence at meals, silence in sleep." Daniel took the water and quickly drank a few sips, finally recovering, and then dared not say more, quietly eating the shrimp. After finishing a pot of shrimp alone, Mitchell promptly urged them to leave. Of course, Jimmy was also taken away, being told not to disturb Willow's rest.
Daniel had rushed over by taxi but now had the opportunity to catch a ride back with Mitchell. Sitting in the passenger seat, there happened to be a bottle of mineral water in the car. The shrimp was a bit spicy, so she opened the water and took a sip to soothe the heat in her mouth. Mitchell held the steering wheel with both hands, eyes fixed ahead, then suddenly asked, "Is Willow in love?"
