Chapter 193 Is He My Brother?

Dorian paced incessantly in the room, causing Madison to feel dizzy just watching him. He had yet to figure out how to broach the subject.

"Can you stop pacing, please? You're making me dizzy." She finally groaned.

Halting abruptly in front of Madison, Dorian turned serious. "You might be my relative," he stated.

Madison stood frozen, shocked by his revelation.

Noticing her stunned silence, Dorian waved his hand in front of her face, asking, "Hey, are you okay?" Dorian raised his hand and waved it in front of Madison's face.

Madison snapped back to reality, disbelief evident in her voice. "How could I possibly be your relative? I grew up in Horizon City, and you're from Suncrest Heights, which is a million miles away."

It wasn't that she thought poorly of Dorian; it was just automatic disbelief that she could still have a family.

"We look a lot alike, don't you think?" Dorian persisted, not giving up.

Madison shook her head. "I don't see it."

As she studied Dorian, she couldn't help but notice his attractiveness compared to herself. His features seemed more refined – a straighter nose, longer eyelashes, and thicker eyebrows.

Dorian let out a sigh, his determination unwavering. "We'll know the results soon anyway. Even if there's a one percent chance, I want to be your brother. You're stuck with me now," he declared before leaving the room without looking back.

Madison watched him go, feeling bewildered by his actions. 'What results is he referring to? And who goes to such lengths to forge a sibling relationship?'

Perhaps this guy had become overly fixated on finding Madison.

Back in his room, Matthew couldn't get Madison's face out of his mind—the depth in her eyes, her affectionate gaze, and her gentle voice haunted him. Restless, he slid open the balcony door and stepped out into the wind, peering down at the illuminated window of room 2203 below, wondering if she had retired for the night. He found himself staying on the balcony, fixated on the light emanating from her room, unable to tear his gaze away.

After a while, a smirk crossed his lips as he realized the absurdity of stealthily watching a woman's room.

Just as Matthew was about to turn back inside, a knock at the door startled him, igniting a flutter of anticipation. Could it be Madison? Unconsciously, a slight smile played on his lips as he hurried to answer the door.

However, instead of Madison, he was greeted by Princess Bella. His demeanor instantly cooled as he asked curtly, "What's up?"

Princess Bella, biting her lip, looked somewhat disheveled, hadn't freshened up since arriving at the hotel. She still wore the same clothes from earlier, and her makeup remained intact. Matthew furrowed his brow but stepped aside to allow her entry.

After closing the door, Matthew poured Bella a glass of water and inquired, "What do you need?"

Bella confided, "Tomorrow, I'm finalizing a diamond deal with the Mystical Scholars Society in Italy." The truth was, the diamonds aboard their cruise were the real reason for their journey, with sightseeing merely a facade. Their aim was to complete the transaction and return home with the money. Matthew nodded in understanding, having been privy to their discussions about important matters on the ship and aware that their cruise had docked at the Lunaria port for the diamond transaction.

"Do you plan on accompanying me?" she asked.

"As your bodyguard, I'll be there if you want me," Matthew replied.

Bella frowned. "Is that all I am to you? Just someone you work to protect?"

"Yes," he affirmed.

"And would you fight to the death for me?" she pressed.

Matthew nodded solemnly. "I would." It was his duty as her bodyguard to protect her, and she had once saved his life, instilling a strong sense of obligation in him to protect her in return.

Bella breathed a sigh of relief. However, as she continued to linger without indication of leaving, Matthew prompted, "Is there something else, Bella?"

She hesitated, her troubled expression betraying her inner turmoil. Matthew encouraged her, "If you have something to ask, just ask."

"Do you believe them?" Bella questioned. "Do you believe that woman is your wife? Did you have dinner with her? At the restaurant you both own?"

Matthew knew she was referring to Madison, and he did indeed believe Madison. It wasn't just the family photos she had shown him, but also the sense of familiarity he felt around her. Whenever they were together, he found himself drawn to her, and he couldn't stand seeing her distressed. Unlike Bella, who had kept his past a mystery and only shared superficial details, Madison made him feel connected to a life he had no recollection of.

Despite this, Matthew felt indebted to Bella for saving his life and harbored no ill will toward him. Out of gratitude and a sense of obligation, he was committed to staying by her side and ensuring her safety.

"Yes," Matthew answered directly. Bella didn't expect his directness. She was taken aback, her cheeks flushing slightly asred. She didn't know if she felt irritated or guilty.

Gathering herself, Bella spoke calmly, "I've spoken to your wife. I saved you, and I didn't coerce you into staying with me. I asked for your opinion, and it was you who chose to stay."

Matthew acknowledged the truth of her words internally, though he also knew that Bella had manipulated certain details to fabricate memories that weren't truly his, influencing his decision to stay.

Seeing Matthew's silence, Bella continued, "Now that your family has found you, I'm giving you another chance to choose. If you wish to leave with them, I will allow it. But if you decide to stay, then you'll return to Country C with me. Once our business deal is done, we'll return home."

"Thank you, Bella," Matthew expressed his gratitude sincerely.

Bella approached him, interpreting his gratitude as affirmation of her decision. However, when she attempted to touch his face, Matthew instinctively pulled away, causing an awkward moment between them. Bella's expression reflected a mix of melancholy and reluctance as she stated, "Until I depart Lunaria, you are not to leave."

"Okay," Matthew agreed solemnly.

After Bella departed, the door closed behind her, leaving Matthew was alone in his room. Stepping out onto the balcony, he felt the gentle night breeze brush against his skin. The lights in the rooms below were off; it was late. She must be asleep now. Looking down at the darkened windows, he remembered the day he first encountered her at sea, a smile formed on his lips.
