Chapter 505 Ryan Nelson

Joy was now a month old. Today, William asked Matthew and Madison about their plans for the One Month Celebration. They wanted to keep it simple, just a meal with close family and friends. After some discussion, they settled on next Saturday evening at the Imperial Hotel, which was convenient.

Back in her room, Madison called her parents to let them know the date.

Her parents and brother were supposed to visit before she gave birth. But on Christmas Eve, Madison's grandmother had fainted and ended up in the hospital, spending Christmas there. Her mom stayed to take care of her. They didn't want to worry Madison, so they waited until her grandmother's condition stabilized before telling her and Matthew.

Since Madison was about to give birth, she couldn't go back for her grandma, and her parents couldn't come over either. Her grandmaHoward stayed in the hospital for over a month and was discharged just as Joy turned one month old.

Hank had gone abroad before Christmas ended, not for work, but to help an old colleague with a case overseas. He had been undercover in that country for years and knew the situation well, so he had agreed to go. Madison didn't want her parents to tell Hank in advance because she worried it might distract him. So, Hank only found out his sister had given birth after he returned.

When he called Madison, she asked him to help take care of their grandmother.

Once their grandmother was better, Madison would come to Horizon City.

Hank knew Matthew would take good care of his sister, so he wasn't worried. He also convinced their parents to wait until Joy turned one month old before coming to Horizon City.

Finally, the family was going to reunite.

After Madison hung up, Matthew had just put the well-fed Joy to sleep in his crib.

"I told my parents about the One Month Celebration. They said they'd come two days early, and my brother will come too," Madison said with a smile.

Matthew, holding a pair of socks, walked over to Madison and helped her put them on. During her postpartum period, Madison always wore socks, even while sleeping, as her mom had repeatedly reminded her to keep warm, especially since she gave birth in winter. Madison remembered this well during her recovery, but after a month, she sometimes forgot after taking a bath. However, Matthew always made sure she wore socks, being more attentive than she was.

"Alright, once they buy the tickets, I'll call your mom to get the flight info, and I'll pick them up," Matthew said while putting the socks on Madison.

After putting on the socks, Matthew urged Madison to go to bed. "Honey, get some sleep while Joy's still out. She'll need to eat again soon."

Madison got into bed, and Matthew joined her, leaving a small night light on.

As they lay there, Madison's foot accidentally touched Matthew's leg. Since she got pregnant, their intimate moments had significantly decreased, and they hadn't been intimate at all in the later stages of pregnancy and the first month after the baby was born. During her pregnancy, Matthew had been very restrained, not daring to do anything. After the baby was born, they were genuinely too busy, even with a postpartum nurse. He preferred to be hands-on, especially with nighttime feedings, so he hadn't had the time or energy for intimacy.

Now, lying in bed, Madison's touch ignited a fire in Matthew. But he wasn't sure if her body was ready, so he asked in a hoarse voice, "Honey."

His voice was full of longing.

Madison, unaware of the spark she had ignited, turned to face Matthew, her eyes bright.

"Honey, what's wrong? Have you thought of a name for Joy?" she asked, still preoccupied with this matter.

Matthew, feeling uncomfortable, replied, "Not yet."

He then subtly moved away, trying to avoid the temptation.

Madison immediately pounced on his chest, still asking, "Why haven't you thought of one yet? Don't you like Joy?" she said, pouting and resting her chin on Matthew's chest.

Matthew's body stiffened, his mind not registering Madison's words. His eyes were fixed on her slightly parted red lips. He flipped over, pinning her beneath him, and kissed her passionately.

Madison gasped in surprise, immediately feeling Matthew's physical reaction against her thigh.

Previously, all their attention had been on the baby, and they hadn't thought about intimacy. Now, the calculated desire all came rushing back. Madison responded the kiss, making Matthew even more excited.

At the crucial moment, Matthew restrained himself and stopped, looking at Madison's flushed lips and dazed eyes. In a hoarse voice, he asked, "Honey, is it okay now?"

"What?" Madison's mind was in a fog, unable to think clearly.

Matthew patiently asked again, "Honey, is it okay now?"

He wasn't sure if it was safe and didn't want to hurt Madison.

Madison didn't respond, her eyes still glazed.

After a while, Matthew took a deep breath, preparing to get out of bed and take a cold shower to calm down.

Seeing him about to get out of bed, Madison quickly grabbed his arm. "Honey."

Matthew paused, turned his face away, and said hoarsely, "It's okay, you go to sleep. I'll just take a shower."

Madison pulled him back on top of her, closed her eyes, and kissed him.

At that moment, all of Matthew's restraint crumbled.

That night, he tried his best to be gentle. They lay hand in hand, smiling happily. Matthew looked at the baby sleeping soundly in the crib and softly said, "Ryan Nelson."

Madison, still in a daze, asked, "What?"

"Joy's full name, Ryan," Matthew said with a smile.

"Ryan, that's nice," Madison said, smiling.
