Chapter 378 Couple's Underwear

Danielle handed Willow a pair of black couple's underwear. The men's style was pretty standard, nothing particularly flashy. It was the women's style that seemed a bit 'abnormal' — black lace with a transparent edge, a thin string around the waist. The fabric seemed scarce; how was she supposed to wear it?

Willow usually wore cotton panties, sometimes with cute cartoon patterns. She had never bought this style before. So, upon seeing this style, her first reaction was to resist and put it down. Danielle, observing her, immediately stopped her. "What's wrong? Don't you like it?"

"This fabric is too skimpy," Willow murmured as she looked down at the black lingerie.

Danielle rolled her eyes at her. "That's called design. You don't buy clothes based on fabric quantity; it's about the design. Ask Madison if you don't believe me. Designers rule the fashion world. And this isn't lacking anywhere. It covers what needs to be covered. It's not like the lingerie I got you last time. This is a normal pair of underwear." Danielle then stuffed the underwear back into Willow's hands. The nearby attendant chuckled and explained that it was a popular new style this year. With both of them recommending it, Willow felt dizzy and uncertain, asking, "Is this really suitable?"

"Absolutely suitable." Danielle clapped her hands and prepared to pay. "Let's pay, and you can claim it back from Mitchell later." Willow hurriedly stopped her. "Wait a minute."

"What's wrong? You can't change your mind now," Danielle said, clutching the underwear, fearing her rejection.

Blushing, Willow hesitated for a moment and then hesitantly said, "It's too small." Under Danielle's gaze, she quietly exchanged the small black men's underwear for a larger size according to Mitchell's measurements before proceeding to pay.

Danielle was dumbfounded by her actions. After Willow finished paying, she pulled her aside, mimicking a serious TV drama scene. "Willow, I'm asking you straight up now. How far have you and Mitchell gotten?"

Willow touched her nose, her eyes wandering, feeling extremely guilty. Nothing had happened, yet it felt like everything had.

She definitely couldn't tell the truth; the words just wouldn't come out.

Seeing her embarrassed expression, Danielle's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Have you had sex? Am I going to be an aunt?" Startled, Willow quickly covered her mouth, urging her to be quiet. "Keep it down," she said anxiously. Danielle, containing her excitement, nodded repeatedly, deliberately lowering her voice, "Sorry. I got carried away! Did you really sleep with my brother?"

Willow quickly covered Danielle's mouth again until she quieted down before gently explaining, "No!"

Danielle, with puzzled eyes, full of disbelief, asked, "No?" She glanced at Willow and then at the underwear they had just bought, clearly not convinced. How could it be that nothing had happened yet? What kind of relationship were these two in? Given the circumstances, how had they not been intimate yet? She even knew her brother's underwear size. It seemed even Mother Jonah might not know what size underwear Mitchell wore. And yet, she still denied it.

Willow felt she was in a difficult position and tried to explain, "Really, we live together, so knowing Mitchell's clothing size isn't unusual."

"Living together and not having sex, is that normal?" Danielle immediately retorted.

Willow didn't know how to respond.

Danielle shook her head in disappointment. "Looks like my dreams of becoming an aunt will have to wait." This time, Willow responded quickly, "It'll happen sooner or later."

"So confident. Come on, let me take you to buy some sexy outfits. I guarantee my brother won't be able to resist after seeing them," Danielle said, pulling Willow along as if to buy lingerie. Willow quickly stopped her, redirecting their focus. "No, that can wait. Let's go buy shirts for Mitchell." Then she led Danielle to a men's clothing store.

With their haul from the lingerie store and other bags in tow, they went on a shopping spree at the men's store. Finally, Willow bought two shirts and a tie for Mitchell, while Danielle found a pair of high heels at the shoe store, completing their successful shopping trip. Laden with shopping bags, they were ready to take a taxi back. Willow also called Mitchell on her phone, informing him that she wouldn't be coming back tonight and to take care.

The phone rang once before being promptly answered.

"Mitchell, aren't you supposed to be busy with work?" Otherwise, he wouldn't have his phone by his side; he only did that when he was busy working.

"I'm done. Have you finished shopping?" Mitchell's voice came through the phone, cool and refreshing.

"Yes, I'm going back with Danielle tonight to sleep. You just relax; no need to come pick me up," Willow said.

"Where are you now?" Mitchell asked, seemingly oblivious to Willow's earlier statement about not returning that night.

Willow hesitated for a moment, obediently answering, "We just left the mall, and Danielle is hailing a cab."

"Give her the phone," Mitchell said. Confused, Willow walked over to Danielle and handed her the phone. Danielle looked puzzled, silently asking with her eyes, "Why are you giving me the phone?"

Patiently, Willow explained, "It's Mitchell. He seems to want to talk to you." Danielle, puzzled, took the phone, hearing Mitchell's voice on the other end.

"Danielle, go back by yourself." Straight to the point, Mitchell told Danielle to go back alone. Danielle immediately retorted in annoyance, "Why? I..."

Before she could say another word, Mitchell on the other end of the line cut in, "Starting next month, your allowance will increase by two thousand."

Danielle was taken aback, unconsciously looking at Willow, who appeared just as bewildered, unaware that Mitchell was trying to buy her off.

Danielle leaned to the side, lowering her voice to start bargaining. "Three thousand."

"Deal," Mitchell replied without hesitation. Danielle now regretted not asking for five thousand; three thousand seemed too little. She had underestimated the possessiveness of a man who had just won over someone he had liked for years.
