Chapter 397 I Do

The two stood face to face on the stage. When the officiant asked Matthew, "Do you take Madison Johnson to be your lawfully wedded wife, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do you part? Do you?"

Matthew's smile was particularly charming today, which was Madison's thought as she stood opposite him. He solemnly replied, "I do."

The officiant then asked Madison, "Do you take Matthew Nelson to be your lawfully wedded husband, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do you part? Do you?"

Madison's heart was filled with gratitude and fulfillment at this moment. She nodded earnestly and solemnly replied, "I do."

The officiant continued, "Now, the bride and groom please exchange rings." Upon hearing this, Willow hurriedly brought the rings to the stage. Matthew had custom-designed the rings, with their initials engraved on the inside. The two exchanged rings.

Thunderous applause erupted from the audience. The officiant, also somewhat emotional, said loudly, "Now, the groom may kiss the bride." Matthew cupped Madison's face with both hands, gazed at her lovingly, and leaned in for a kiss.

The applause continued unabated. Willow, standing below the stage, was so moved that tears welled up. Mitchell, standing next to her, gently embraced her. Feeling the familiar presence beside her, Willow turned and gave him a sweet smile.

Madison's family and some close relatives were all present at her wedding today. Guests from Emerald Isle City filled five tables. Matthew covered all the travel, accommodation, and entertainment expenses, which made Gerald and Nancy very happy. It wasn't about the money; it was about the thoughtfulness.

Both families were well-educated and cultured, so Gerald and William had a great conversation with no barriers.

After the wedding ceremony, Madison went back to change into another dress and come out to toast with Matthew. She had water in her glass, while Matthew had wine. Everyone joked that the couple could skip drinking if they had a performance, but the bridesmaids and groomsmen couldn't skip. So, the bridesmaids and groomsmen started to get lively.

Relatives from Emerald Isle City and Horizon City were considerate, but friends of a similar age insisted on drinking. The groomsmen stood in front to shield the bridesmaids, as the bridesmaids were their loved ones, and they couldn't bear to let them drink too much.

Although the groomsmen could hold their liquor, the constant rounds were overwhelming, so the bridesmaids helped drink some. Even Hank joined in to help block the drinks, acting as an unofficial groomsman. The young crowd had a lot of fun.

Madison changed into another dress midway through. The previous one was a red evening gown. This time, she wore another red dress that showcased her curvy figure. As Matthew watched her walk over, he no longer wanted to continue toasting; he just wanted to go upstairs. The presidential suite upstairs was their bridal suite for the night, and they could go up to rest once the wedding was over.

Cheryl also attended the wedding banquet. When Daniel came to toast, remembering the grudge from that day, she deliberately raised her glass to toast him. Her glass was filled with water, but she poured Cheryl a full glass of strong liquor. Watching him tilt his head back and drink it all in one go finally gave her a sense of satisfaction.

Young people were always full of energy. In the end, there were left with friends who had grown up with Matthew, and they kept Mitchell and the others drinking. Everyone else had left early. Relatives from Emerald Isle City were all accommodated in rooms upstairs. William usually went to bed early, so shortly after the ceremony ended, Matthew arranged for someone to take him back first.

Quentin and Hannah, although they didn't have school the next day, couldn't stay up late with the adults. Since they hadn't seen their grandparents and uncle for a while, they happily stayed at the hotel with Gerald and Nancy.

The banquet hall was still bustling with activity. Matthew pulled Madison directly to the presidential suite upstairs. Madison, feeling uneasy, said, "Matthew, this doesn't seem right."

"It's fine; everyone will understand," Matthew said, holding Madison's hand as they walked out of the banquet hall and towards the elevator. He smiled at her with a mischievous grin.

Madison rolled her eyes at him playfully. She wondered, 'What did he mean? How can the bride and groom leave before the guests had all gone?' Madison was shyly exasperated, knowing this was basically telling everyone they were in a hurry to make love.

Matthew pulled Madison into the elevator to the top floor. As soon as they entered the room, he pinned her against the door. Before Madison could react, he eagerly leaned down and kissed her lips. It was a kiss full of tender love and passion, so gentle that Madison felt like she was melting. After a long while, Matthew finally released her lips, looking at her with a smile. The deep affection in his eyes enveloped her, making her unable to move. She heard his low, husky voice say, "Honey, you look so beautiful today." Madison looked up at him, her eyes sparkling, and smiled back, "Honey, you look so handsome today."

Matthew leaned down to kiss her lips again, leading her towards the large bed in the room. The hotel decorated the room with a big heart shape made of rose petals on the bed and a large stuffed animal. There were scented candles on the cabinet by the door and colorful balloons on the floor, giving the room a cheesy yet warm and festive feel. Matthew thought that Cheryl's taste was truly questionable.

As they walked, Matthew began to unbutton Madison's dress. He had wanted to do this ever since he saw her walking towards him in the dress downstairs. Now, finally, alone, he no longer held back. Madison was quickly brought to the edge of the bed, and they both fell onto it. She then saw the fire in Matthew's eyes as he hovered above her. As their eyes met, he showered her with gentle kisses, making Madison feel like she was completely drained of strength. Matthew's large hand intertwined with her fingers. The bedside lamp cast an intimate glow, and the air grew thick with passion, making her dizzy and tremble slightly.

Even when she was utterly exhausted, he showed no signs of tiring.
