Chapter 282 A Movie for Two
Patrick, based on the tip-off provided by Liam, had been waiting at the entrance of the cinema early, wanting to see who Mitchell would bring to the movie. To his surprise, after waiting for a long time, it turned out to be Willow.
He was utterly confused as to why Mitchell would bring Willow to the movie, and instantly felt that there was no point in following them. Disinterested, he watched Mitchell and Willow walk into the cinema and then turned to leave.
As he left, he called Liam, "Liam."
"How did it go, Patrick? Did you get a good look? Did you take any pictures? Send them over so I can see what she looks like," Liam was in a meeting but couldn't resist stepping out of the conference room when he saw Patrick's call, eager not to miss anything.
"It was a waste of time. It was Willow who went to the movie with Mitchell. I thought I could catch a glimpse of the girl Mitchell likes. I even skipped my game tournament to wait at the cinema entrance," Patrick said as he walked out. He had planned to follow them into the cinema but had lost all interest now.
"Why was it Willow? No other girl showed up?" Liam asked, incredulous. Both of them had expected some juicy gossip, but when they found out it was Willow, their interest faded instantly. They didn't say much more and quickly ended the call..
Mitchell and Willow walked into the cinema together. They had seats in the middle towards the back, which turned out to be couple seats. When Willow found their seats, she felt a bit awkward seeing the couple seats and stood there, unsure of what to do.
Mitchell stood behind her, without the tickets in his hand, and seeing Willow standing still, he thought they had the wrong seats. "What's wrong? Did we get the wrong seats?"
Willow snapped out of it, turned around, and saw a lot of people already lined up behind them. She quickly sat down, "No, right here." Mitchell sat down with her. The people behind them continued to move forward. Since it was a newly released movie with good reviews, the seats were all taken, and the tickets were sold out.
Willow looked around and saw that they were surrounded by couples, all snuggling together. She sneaked a glance at Mitchell, who was carefully placing the popcorn and inserting the straw into the drink before handing it to her.
"Try it and see if it's good." When Mitchell bought the coffee, he didn't know what Willow liked, so he got two of the staff's top recommendations. He handed the drink to Willow and watched her take a sip with anticipation. Only when she said, "It's good," did he felt relieved.
When the movie started, all the lights went out except the light from the screen. Everyone quieted down and began to enjoy the film.
The movie was really good, a light-hearted romantic comedy with both relaxing and heartwarming moments. Willow was very engaged in the first half, laughing and crying. Mitchell, on the other hand, wasn't paying much attention to the movie; he was focused on Willow the entire time, handing her snacks and tissues.
Then came the awkward part in the second half. Since it was a romance film, there was a very beautiful and passionate kissing scene between the male and female leads. The couples around them all embraced emotionally, with some even kissing just like the characters in the movie. Willow's face turned red, and she was immensely grateful for the darkness of the cinema, which hid her blushing face. Otherwise, Mitchell would have definitely seen her flushed cheeks.
Willow looked around, pretending not to see the two heads on the screen getting closer and leaning into each other. She turned her head and frantically ate popcorn to ease her tension and embarrassment. Mitchell, also experiencing this for the first time, was at a loss. Then both of their hands reached into the popcorn bucket at the same time, touching each other. They both felt a jolt of electricity pass through their fingers, straight to their hearts.
Willow quickly pulled her hand back and turned to the screen, pretending to watch the movie intently. Luckily, the kissing scene had passed; otherwise, she would have been extremely embarrassed.
In the darkness, Mitchell stared blankly at his fingers that had just touched Willow's, unable to snap out of it. He glanced at the girl sitting upright and staring at the screen seriously, and couldn't help but smile. He then silently handed the popcorn bucket to Willow.
Willow looked at the popcorn that suddenly appeared in front of her and turned to Mitchell, who was smiling at her. Her face turned bright red as she grabbed the popcorn bucket and quickly said, "Thanks, Mitchell." She then held the popcorn in her hands.
For the rest of the movie, neither of them seemed to pay much attention. Willow constantly felt a burning gaze on her, and when she turned to look, she saw Mitchell staring intently at the screen. Meanwhile, Mitchell would occasionally reach over to grab some popcorn, making her wonder if he had discovered how delicious it was. In reality, Mitchell wasn't watching the movie at all; he was secretly watching Willow the whole time, pretending to be casual about it.
By the end of the movie, they had finished the entire large bucket of popcorn. Willow drank the last sip of her drink and couldn't help but burp, thinking she wouldn't need dinner. As they walked out of the cinema with the crowd, Mitchell asked, "What do you want for dinner?"
Willow turned to Mitchell, thinking she had eaten most of the popcorn and that Mitchell must be hungry. She didn't want to say she was too full to eat, so she replied, "I'm not picky. Anything is fine."
Mitchell raised an eyebrow. "Baked Macaroni?"
Willow hesitated, looking troubled. She didn't know how to say she was full. Mitchell had a hunch that she might be too full to eat much, considering she had eaten most of the large popcorn bucket and finished her drink.
"Actually, I'm not that hungry either. How about we just grab a little something?" Mitchell suggested again.
"Sure, I'm not that hungry either. Just a little something is fine," Willow immediately agreed, not expecting Mitchell to take her to a street food BBQ stand.
When she saw the impeccably dressed Mitchell leading her to a street BBQ stand, she was taken back. She looked at Mitchell in shock, asking, "Mitchell, why are we having BBQ?"
Mitchell wiped the table and chairs with a napkin before letting her sit down, calmly saying, "You like it, don't you? It's okay to have it once in a while." He then handed the menu to Willow with a slight smile.
