Chapter 200 Freeloader Alert
Madison and Matthew returned home after dropping the kids off at school. As soon as she opened the door, Willow said, "Did Quentin and Hannah go to school? Are you and your brother at home?
"Yeah, we just got back."
"Okay, I'll come by at noon."
"Sure, I'll prepare some extra; come have lunch," Madison joyfully said. She scanned the fridge, already preparing her midday meal.
Willow hung up and immediately sought the remainder of the day off from her manager.
Concerned, the manager wondered what was wrong. Willow, looking for an excuse, stated that she was not feeling well owing to her period. Her manager, taken aback, swiftly agreed and instructed her to take the day off.
Willow wanted to avoid seeing Marigold again. Jonah had put her in charge of a project, and Marigold continued returning to see him. Jonah would call Willow into the meeting whenever Marigold paid a visit, making her feel like a third wheel. Willow went insane watching Marigold's arrogance, especially in Jonah's absence.
Willow exited when her leave was authorized, only to run into Patrick in the elevator. The doors opened to show Patrick standing alone inside.
Willow entered, handbag in hand.
Patrick mocked her about her purse, asking, "Where are you going? "Are you already skipping work?"
"I'm not skipping; I took a day off. Willow responded firmly, "I'm going to see Matthew." When Patrick learned she was visiting Matthew, he insisted on accompanying her.
"Aren't you here for the meeting?" Willow inquired, perplexed.
"It doesn't really matter whether I'm there or not," Patrick said nonchalantly. As long as his brothers had things under control, his presence was unnecessary.
Willow, rolling her eyes, couldn't stop Patrick from coming along. Patrick eventually drove, and the two traveled to Aurora Heights.

Matthew couldn't find Madison in the living room after looking through photo albums and leaving the room. He entered the kitchen and saw her cooking.
Madison turned as she heard footsteps. "Have you finished looking?" Relax in the living room. Willow is coming over for lunch, and I'm prepared a few of her favorite things."
Matthew lingered at the kitchen doorway, having no intention of leaving. "Need any help?"
Madison returned her gaze to the man working diligently beside the dining table. By coincidence, Matthew caught her eye, and they exchanged a little smile. Despite their long marriage, they still appeared to be in the midst of a passionate relationship.
When Willow and Patrick arrived, Madison was still enjoying the last of the soup. The kitchen fan was on, and the door was closed, so she didn't hear the banging. Matthew answered the door.
"Matthew," Patrick and Willow said in tandem, surprised to see Matthew standing in front of them. Matthew had indeed returned.
When he saw the two guests at the door, he frowned slightly. Weren't they expecting only one person? Why are there two? He stepped aside, expressionless, to allow them in. He quickly poured two glasses of water for them before returning to the kitchen to assist Madison with the dinnerware.
Madison rushed out of the kitchen after hearing Matthew say that two individuals had come. "Willow, Little Five, you're here."
"Hey Madison, I just ran into Willow, who mentioned she was coming to visit Matthew. Since I had nothing else going on, I decided to join her. I don't eat much, so don't bother preparing anything special for me," Patrick quickly interjected.
"I've made plenty of food, enough for everyone. Take a seat and relax for a bit; we'll eat as soon as the soup's ready," Madison replied with a smile before returning to the kitchen.
Willow and Patrick sat on the living room couch, exchanging whispers and stealing glances at Matthew as he helped out in the kitchen.
"Matthew's presence seems to chill the room," Willow murmured to Patrick.
"He's always had that icy demeanor," Patrick replied, seemingly unconcerned.
"I feel like it's gotten worse since he lost his memory. Did you see the way he looked at us just now? It was like he was glaring daggers," Willow said, placing her hand over her chest as if genuinely frightened.
"Really?" Patrick seemed oblivious, not sensing the tension.
After Madison instructed Matthew to serve the soup, she called everyone to the dining table.
The four of them sat down—Madison and Matthew on one side, and Willow and Patrick on the other. They shared a soup they had prepared together.
Matthew's cold gaze passed over them, seemingly oblivious to their presence.
Willow silently ate her food, puzzled by Matthew's behavior. Despite his affection toward Madison, he treated them like strangers.
She even wondered if Matthew was selectively amnesiac.
Nevertheless, they would find a way to cope with Matthew's demeanor.
