Chapter 531 Going to a Bar for a Small Gathering

Matthew's family came. William was there, while Madison brought the youngest, Joy, and even Donald Moore and Hannah, who were picked up early from school by Matthew, were there.

After Willow was sent back to her room, both she and the baby were surrounded and greeted by everyone.

They had all rushed to the hospital upon receiving the call and had waited for several hours.

By the time Willow returned to her room, it was already 9 PM.

They had a simple dinner at the hospital cafeteria, organized by Richard and Jessica, as Willow hadn't given birth yet, and no one felt like going out for a fancy meal.

After seeing Willow and the baby, William prepared to leave, and Madison had to take the kids home as well. One child still needed to be nursed, and the other two had to go to bed early for school the next day. Confirming that Willow and the baby were safe was enough.

Matthew naturally went home with his wife and kids.

Mitchell asked Danielle to take both sets of parents home. Too many people in the hospital made it hard for Willow to rest.

The mothers agreed, trusting Mitchell to handle things, and went home to prepare food to bring the next morning.

Though the moms were willing to help, Mitchell insisted on hiring a professional baby nurse, who was more experienced with postpartum care, allowing the mothers to take a break.

After Matthew's family left, Cheryl also left with Danielle. His car couldn't fit everyone, so Danielle initially planned to have Cheryl help take Lloyd and Patricia home while she took her parents in a cab.

However, Cheryl disagreed and made a call. Soon, another car arrived.

The car he called took Lloyd and Patricia to their apartment, while Cheryl took Danielle, Richard, and Jessica back to The Jonah Residence.

Patrick, Victor, and Liam were left.

Patrick suggested going to a bar since they hadn't been in a while. Liam and Victor agreed, and since Mitchell couldn't leave, the three drove to Mitchell's bar.

The bar was packed as usual. The first floor was full of young people dancing, so the three went straight to a private room upstairs for a quiet drink.

After a while, Patrick got bored and called Matthew and Danielle, asking Liam to bring Ophelia, "It's too boring with just us three guys drinking. We need more people to live things up."

Matthew received the call just after getting home.

The nanny was bathing Joy, and Madison was in Hannah's room preparing her pajamas. Quentin and Hannah were now mostly bathing themselves, so their parents didn't have to worry. William went to rest as soon as he got home.

When Madison returned to her room from Hannah's, she saw Matthew just hanging up the phone and casually asked, "Who called?"

William replied, "Patricia."

Madison looked puzzled.

"Patricia? Are they still at the hospital?" she asked, walking to the wardrobe to get her pajamas for a bath.

"Are Quentin and Hannah asleep?" Matthew didn't answer her question but walked over to her, wrapping her in his arms and resting his chin on her shoulder, concerned about their kids.

Madison smiled. "Yes, they're both asleep. The nanny just finished bathing Joy. She'll bring her over after feeding her. Joy sleeps in our room but in her own crib. We've kept the previous nanny because she's reliable and meticulous, and we're quite satisfied with her."

"Okay." Matthew nuzzled her shoulder and neck several times, his voice hoarse. "Honey, you smell so good."

He took a deep sniff, making Madison's neck itch.

Madison laughed and dodged. "It tickles! I haven't even bathed yet. How could I smell good?"

Matthew held her tight, not letting her escape, and buried his face in her shoulder, childishly saying, "You just smell good."

Unable to escape, Madison quickly changed the subject. "You said Patricia called. What did he want?"

Matthew kissed her neck, then lifted his head. "They're at the bar and said it's too boring. They called to ask me to join them."

Madison turned to look at Matthew. "Then go ahead. The nanny will bring Joy over once she's asleep. It's no problem."

Matthew held her hand, unwilling to let go. "I don't want to go. Let them have their fun."

With his wife in his arms, he didn't want to drink in the bar .

"Alright, if you're not going, let's go to bed early. I'm going to take a bath." Madison smiled and walked into the bathroom with her pajamas.

Joy was only three months old, and Madison had been quite tired. She handled nighttime feedings and diaper changes herself, as the baby nurse slept separately at night.

Matthew often felt sorry for her, seeing him juggle work and childcare.

Fortunately, the baby was growing, needing fewer night feedings and no longer pooping at night, making things much easier.

When Madison came out of the bath, she saw Matthew on the phone again. "I'm not going. You guys have fun."

It was probably Patricia again.

Madison heard Matthew say, "Really, I'm not going. Madison is already bathing and getting ready for bed."

She walked over, and Matthew handed her the phone. She hesitated, "Patricia?"

Matthew nodded. "He insists we both go."

Madison smiled and took the phone. "Patricia."

"Madison, you and Matthew should come out and have some fun. It's been ages since you went out." Patrick's voice came through the phone.

Madison smiled and replied, "Matthew can go. I'll stay home."

"If you don't come, Matthew won't either. Just come for a bit. Danielle and the others are already on their way." Patrick insisted.

Unable to refuse, Madison softly agreed, "Alright, I'll see."

"Don't just see. We'll wait for you." Patrick hung up, and Madison handed the phone back to Matthew.

Matthew said, "Ignore Patricia. We're not going."

Madison laughed. "You should go, honey. Otherwise, Patricia will keep calling."

"Then I'll turn off my phone. I don't want to leave you alone at home." Matthew hugged Madison, speaking in a muffled voice.

Madison thought for a moment and said, "Let's both go then."

"What about Joy?" Matthew asked, lifting his head.

"Let the nanny take care of her. We'll just stay for a bit and come back. It'll be fine," Madison said, then changed into outdoor clothes, checked on Joy, gave the nanny some instructions, and left with Matthew.
