Chapter 431 Meeting a Superstar
Joseph smiled kindly and said gently, "Of course, Willow, you can have as many autographs as you want. Let's go eat first."
He had already noticed Mitchell's dark, scowling face, with eyes that seemed ready to cut him down.
Mitchell pulled Willow inside, and her eyes followed Joseph the entire time.
Feeling his cold aura, Joseph quickly looked to Victor for help. "Victor."
Victor glanced at him with a smirk and couldn't be bothered to intervene. He sat down at the table and said, "Joseph, your cooking skills have improved."
The table was already set with a full spread of mouth-watering dishes.
Willow walked over, eyes wide in disbelief as she looked at Joseph with admiration.
Joseph quickly said, "Willow, please stop looking at me like that, or Mitchell will chop me up."
He even made a slicing motion at his neck.
Willow, feeling embarrassed, turned to look at Mitchell, who indeed had a dark expression. She quickly reached out to tug on his fingers, softly and sweetly saying, "Mitchell."
Mitchell's stern face instantly softened, and he smiled at her, saying, "Sit down and eat."
She happily sat down next to him.
Joseph also took a seat next to Victor, filling the four chairs perfectly. He opened the bottle of red wine Mitchell had brought, poured a glass for everyone, and said, "Welcome, Victor, Mitchell, and Willow, to my dinner. Cheers."
Victor and Mitchell both gave him a speechless look but still raised their glasses silently.
Willow, smiling brightly, raised her glass too, feeling overjoyed.
If Ophelia and Danielle knew she was eating a meal cooked by Joseph himself, they would definitely be ecstatic.
Throughout the meal, it was mostly Joseph and Willow talking, or rather, she asking questions and he answering. For instance, she asked if his father was Chinese because he looked somewhat mixed-race. He replied that he didn't know if he was mixed; Joseph was a name he chose for himself. She also asked how he learned English so well, and he explained he learned it later. She wondered why his cooking was so good, and he said it was because he had always been alone and cooked for himself to save money when he was broke.
Willow asked several questions but didn't delve too deeply, and Joseph answered them all gently. She found the superstar to have a surprising contrast; he seemed so cold and unapproachable in movies, but in person, he was quite the opposite and rather cute.
In fact, she could see quite a few celebrities at Liam's place, and she often saw small influencers and minor stars in their building. But Joseph was her favorite Hollywood actor, and she had seen almost all his movies. In this regard, she, Danielle, and Ophelia shared the same taste; all three were huge fans of Joseph.
She never dreamed she would meet Joseph in Maple City. Just a few days ago, she had been watching his movie with Mitchell in the hotel, and he hadn't even mentioned knowing him. How frustrating!
After dinner, Joseph offered, "Willow, how long are you planning to stay in Maple City? If Mitchell doesn't have time to accompany you, I'm free these next few days and can show you around the city."
Before Willow could say anything, Mitchell immediately said, "No need, we're planning to head back."
Willow was momentarily stunned but then smiled and agreed, "Yes, we're planning to head back. Maybe next time we can visit Horizon City."
She even extended a polite invitation.
Joseph perked up at this and immediately said with a smile, "Great, I've been wanting to go. If I had known Matthew was going to develop the entertainment industry, I wouldn't have signed with an American company. I should have signed with Liam instead. The money I'm making now isn't even enough to cover the breach of contract fees."
Then, he turned to Victor. "Victor, why don't you talk to Matthew and help me pay the breach of contract fees? I'll move to Horizon City with you guys."
Victor looked up at him coolly without saying a word.
Joseph quickly laughed and said, "I'm just kidding."
He turned to Willow. "Willow, when you and Mitchell get married? I'll definitely be there."
This made her blush.
After leaving Joseph's apartment, it was already quite late, so Mitchell didn't let Victor drive them. They took a cab back. Willow was carrying a bag that Joseph had given her before they left, filled with his autographed photos and posters. There were so many that it was almost overwhelming, and he had signed each one carefully.
Willow was in a great mood the whole way back, carefully protecting the bag.
Once they got back to the hotel, she put everything neatly into her suitcase before going to take a shower. When she came out of the bathroom, she saw Mitchell still sitting on the couch, not moving. She walked over barefoot and stood in front of him.
Mitchell looked up at her, frowning slightly. "Why aren't you wearing slippers? You'll catch a cold."
He got up to get her slippers, but Willow stopped him and sat sideways on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. She smiled and asked, "Mitchell, what's wrong? Are you upset?"
She had sensed it since they got in the car. He had been in a bad mood and hadn't spoken the whole way.
Mitchell turned his head away awkwardly and mumbled, "No."
Willow cupped his face with her hands, looking into his eyes with a smile. "Really?"
Mitchell's ears turned slightly red as he looked at Willow and said, "I don't like you staring at Joseph."
She burst out laughing and, for once, took the initiative to kiss him on the lips.
She smiled and said, "Joseph is a celebrity, and I'm just a fan. Besides, I got those autographed photos and posters for Danielle and Ophelia. They're both fans of Joseph."
"Give them all to them when we get back." Mitchell finally smiled.
Willow, sitting on his lap, wriggled a bit and said coquettishly, "Mitchell, can I keep a couple?"
Mitchell couldn't resist her soft, sweet voice and nodded. "Alright."
He picked her up and carried her to the bed.
Feeling the change in his body, Willow blushed and buried her head in his shoulder.
Half-asleep and exhausted, she felt Mitchell wiping her body. She remembered she wanted to share the good news with Danielle and Ophelia about meeting their idol and getting autographed photos. But she was too tired to move and fell asleep immediately.
