Chapter 424 How Lucky
Willow felt completely stunned, unable to move. If finding out that Mitchell had always liked her was the biggest surprise of her life, then today was definitely the second biggest.
Mitchell seemed to come from the airport, standing at the door with a travel-worn appearance and a suitcase by his side. He was wearing a khaki trench coat, looking incredibly handsome and elegant.
There was a saying that absence makes the heart grow fonder. And since they were still in the honeymoon phase, this felt especially true.
Mitchell looked at Willow's dazed expression, his lips curling into a charming smile, his eyes filled with warmth as he opened his arms towards her.
Willow snapped out of her daze, leaping up in excitement and throwing herself into his arms. He caught her with a smile, and she wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist, clinging to him like an excited child.
"Mitchell, what are you doing here?" Willow asked happily, her face animated with joy.
Mitchell held her up with one hand while pulling the suitcase with the other, heading towards the room. Holding each other like this in the hallway would definitely attract attention. Once inside, he closed the door with his back, casually placing the suitcase by the entrance, and carried her further into the room.
Their noses touched affectionately. Mitchell smiled, and as he reached the bed, he gently laid her down, lowering his head to lightly peck her cherry-red lips.
Then, with a playful glint in his eyes, he asked, "I couldn't hear clearly on the phone earlier. Did you miss me?"
Willow, lying beneath him, beamed brightly. "Yes."
"How much?" Mitchell asked in a husky voice.
Willow held up one finger, winking mischievously, and said, "Just a little bit."
"Only a little bit? But I missed you a lot. I couldn't sleep at night without you," Mitchell said bluntly, making Willow blush.
"I was just kidding. I missed you a lot too," Willow admitted, her ears turning red.
While Willow was simply expressing her longing, Mitchell clearly misunderstood, lowering his head to kiss her deeply.
She let out a soft whimper and surprisingly responded.
This seemed to excite Mitchell even more. Willow's soft voice in his ear made him even more excited.
Just as he was about to start unbuttoning her clothes, Willow's phone rang, snapping her back to reality. She quickly pushed Mitchell away, dodging his kiss. "Mitchell, wait a minute. It must be my classmates calling."
She had been so excited to see him that she had forgotten all about her plans.
Mitchell held her tightly, breathing heavily in her ear to calm down.
Once his breathing steadied, Willow quickly got up to find her phone. It was Lisa calling, so she immediately called back. The call was quickly answered. "Willow, have you arrived at the hotel?"
"Yes, I'm here," Willow said, her heart still racing and her face still flushed.
"Then drop off your luggage and come find us. We're all at Amanda's place, room 1608. Hurry up," Lisa urged, then added, "Did your boyfriend come with you? Bring him along. We all want to meet this mystery guy."
"Yeah, bring him along." Willow heard Karen and Amanda chime in from the background.
She glanced at Mitchell, who was tidying up in the bathroom, and softly replied, "Okay, we'll be there soon."
After hanging up, Willow walked to the bathroom door.
Mitchell had already taken off his coat and was rolling up the sleeves of his white shirt, exposing his toned arms and prominent veins, looked incredibly attractive.
Willow stood at the door, completely mesmerized.
Mitchell, having just arrived from a long flight and coming straight to the hotel to see Willow, looked a bit tired, his hair slightly disheveled.
After fixing his hair and washing his face, he turned to smile at Willow, who was still staring blankly.
Mitchell couldn't help but chuckle and lightly cough, his voice hoarse. "Willow, if you keep looking at me like that, we might not be able to leave."
He had overheard her phone call in the bathroom and knew her friends were urging her to join them.
Willow snapped out of her daze, her face flushing again. She lowered her head and softly said, "Mitchell, my roommates are in room 1608. They want us to go over."
"Sure," Mitchell replied immediately, "Do you want to change clothes first? We can go once you're ready."
Willow was momentarily taken aback. She had been a bit worried when she agreed to Lisa's request, fearing that Mitchell might not want to go. After all, the Mitchell she knew was usually reserved around strangers and didn't enjoy social gatherings.
"What's wrong?" Mitchell asked, concerned, seeing her standing still at the door.
Willow looked up, smiling. "Thank you."
Mitchell reached out to pat her head affectionately. "Silly girl."
Then his eyes drifted down to her clothes, and he smiled. "You should change first."
Willow noticed her clothes were wrinkled from their earlier excitement. Blushing, she grabbed a fresh outfit from her suitcase and went to the bathroom to change. When she came out, Mitchell was holding several bags, ready to leave.
She looked at the bags in his hands, puzzled, and asked, "Mitchell, what's all this?"
"Just some gifts. It's my first time meeting your roommates, so I brought a little something for them," Mitchell said with a smile.
Willow felt deeply touched; she hadn't even thought of this, but Mitchell had.
How lucky she was to have met him.
Hand in hand, the two left the room.
She kept glancing at his profile, smiling and and thinking how incredibly lucky she was to have such a wonderful man in her life.
