Chapter 456 The Wedding Escort

The door to the room was only slightly ajar.

Danielle stuck half of her head out, grinning slyly at Mitchell, and said, "Mitchell, today I'm part of the bridesmaid squad. Don't think I'll give you any special treatment. The girls said you need to hand over the gifts first."

Patrick chuckled as he pulled out a stack of gifts from his bag and tossed them inside, saying with a laugh, "Sure."

Almost everyone in the room managed to grab two or three gifts, and the amounts inside were quite substantial.

Quentin handed one to Hannah, who put it into her small bag, which she had originally brought to hold wedding candies. She hadn't expected to get gifts too.

After handing over the gifts, the groomsmen thought they could finally go in and fetch the bride. But it turned out the gifts were just a tip to open the door. The bridesmaids had several challenges prepared for them.

Once everyone had received their gifts, Danielle opened the door, and Mitchell led the groomsmen inside.

The bridesmaids had prepared quite a few tricky games, but when they saw Joseph was one of the groomsmen, they all screamed.

Danielle loudly asked, "Why didn't anyone tell me Joseph was a groomsman!"

"Willow, is this the surprise you prepared for me?" Lisa coyly asked as she looked at Joseph with shining eyes.

Ophelia, who had seen many big events, appeared calm on the surface, but her hands were trembling with excitement. If it weren't for everyone watching, she would have rushed up to hug her idol. The only women who seemed unfazed were Madison and Karen, as neither of them were into celebrities.

Even though the groom had played his trump card, the bridesmaids didn't let them off easily. The first challenge was push-ups, fifty each, for both the groom and the groomsmen. Everyone cheerfully unbuttoned their suits, took off their jackets, and lined up neatly in the room to start doing push-ups.

Watching these high-profile men exercise together was a feast for the eyes, and the room was filled with screams. For these guys who worked out regularly, fifty push-ups were a piece of cake, and they weren't even out of breath afterward.

Matthew, not being part of the groomsmen, stood by with his arms crossed, watching the others tackle the challenges with a smile. He was secretly glad that he hadn't had such rituals at his own wedding, sparing him from being teased.

The second challenge was solving riddles.

Danielle took out six pieces of paper she had prepared in advance, each with four pictures representing a riddle. They had to solve all the riddles within a minute to pass.

Mitchell smiled and said, "Alright, each of us will take one, and we'll let big brother help with the last one, okay?"

"Okay." The bridesmaids agreed to let them enlist Matthew as an extra helper.

However, they underestimated the intelligence of these men. They solved almost all the riddles at a glance, leaving only the last one.

Everyone looked at Matthew, who was leaning casually against the door frame.

Mitchell looked at him expectantly. He said anxiously, "Matthew, it's the last one."

The implication was clear; they were hinting, "Matthew, it was up to you."

Matthew slowly stood up straight, glanced at the paper Danielle was holding, and read out the answer to the last riddle, "Grow old together."

"Alright, these are too easy for you. We'll have to up the difficulty for the last one," Danielle said with a smile.

Liam, standing next to Mitchell, laughed and said, "Danielle, you still want to make it harder? Do you not want Mitchell to marry Willow?"

"Of course, we have to make it harder. Did you think my good sister would be so easy to marry?" Danielle said righteously with a smile.

Given her role as a bridesmaid, she was obviously on the bride's side.

"What's the last challenge?" Patrick asked eagerly, rushing to the front.

"The two shoes Willow will wear later are hidden in the room. If you find them, you can take the bride," Ophelia explained with a smile.

Mitchell nodded with a smile and said, "Alright."

He looked at Willow sitting on the bed in her wedding dress, eager to take her home.

Then the group started searching, opening cabinets, looking under the bed, and checking drawers.

Finally, Victor found one shoe in a bag hanging high behind the bathroom door. Despite searching everywhere, they couldn't find the other shoe.

As time dragged on, Patrick ran to Matthew and said, "Matthew, you need to work your magic and get sister-in-law on our side. Ask her where the other shoe is."

Matthew looked at Madison, who smiled back at him and innocently said, "I don't know either. They had already hidden it when I arrived."

Quentin and Hannah nodded in agreement. They said in unison, "It's true, Dad. We don't know where it is either."

Patrick sighed. Then he said, "What now? Liam, it's your turn."

He looked at Liam.

Before Liam could speak, Ophelia quickly said with a smile, "Don't ask me, I don't know either."

Even Joseph couldn't find out the shoe's whereabouts. He shrugged helplessly.

Mitchell looked at Willow, who smiled slyly at him.

Suddenly, he seemed to realize something. He walked over to Willow, knelt down on one knee, and reached under her dress, accurately grabbing her ankle. He found the other shoe tied to her calf.

He gently untied the red string and took out the shoe, and the room erupted in cheers. The groomsmen were all amazed; only Danielle could have thought of tying the shoe to the bride's leg.

Victor still had the other shoe. He handed it to Mitchell, who personally put the shoes on Willow.

Then, in front of everyone, he kissed her and whispered in her ear with a smile, "Honey, I'm here to take you home."

He then bent down and scooped her up in a princess carry, striding towards the door. The large skirt of the wedding dress wasn't on yet; it would be put on for the hotel entrance ceremony, making it easier to carry her for the meantime.

Finally, they had the bride. Everyone escorted Mitchell and Willow downstairs and into the wedding car. The car was decorated with streamers, balloons, and candy. The children were the happiest to see the bride come out, eagerly pushing to the front for a better look.

Patricia's eyes welled up as she watched Willow being taken out of the house.

Willow leaned against Mitchell's chest, looking up at his familiar, smiling face.

The grand wedding procession set off again, heading towards the hotel.
