Chapter 473 Sending a Belated Wedding Gift

Willow's face turned bright red upon hearing his words.

However, Mitchell mumbled and then fell silent.

Seeing him with his eyes closed and motionless, Willow blushed even more as she continued to undress him and change his clothes.

Fortunately, Mitchell remained well-behaved and quiet afterward, not saying anything else that would make her feel embarrassed or flustered.

The next day, when they were leaving, the same driver who had taken them to the town last time came to drive them to the bus station. He even brought them a large bag of wild mushrooms from his home, dried after being picked. It was a really big bag, and it must have taken a lot of fresh wild mushrooms to dry out such a large amount.

Willow and Mitchell initially refused to accept it, but eventually, they took half the bag. When they got off the bus, they found that the driver had left the other half for them as well, stuffing it into their bags. Both of them felt deeply touched by the gesture.

When they left, their two suitcases were full, and when they returned, besides the two suitcases, they also had two large bags of local specialties, mostly gifts from the villagers. They were truly loaded with goodies.

By the time they got back to Horizon City, it was already past 8:00 P.M., and by the time they took a cab back to their apartment, it was almost 10:00 P.M.. They had to return to work the next day, and although the journey had been smooth, the multiple transfers and flights were exhausting. Willow and Mitchell washed up and went straight to bed after getting home.

The next day, Willow brought some local specialties to a few close colleagues at work. She also packed a large bag of dried goods and put it in Mitchell's car trunk in the morning, planning to deliver it to Madison after work. Wild mushroom soup was great for pregnant women. The remaining specialties were divided into several bags, each prepared for Danielle, Ophelia, Patrick, Victor and Richard.

Willow was truly thoughtfully.

After work, she waited at the entrance for Mitchell to pick her up so they could go to Nelson Mansion to deliver the gifts.

It was quite cold in December, and as soon as Willow stepped outside, she couldn't help but shrink her neck and wrap her down jacket tighter. Looking up, she immediately saw a familiar figure standing under the streetlight.

That person also looked up at her, smiling slightly, and slowly walked towards her after seeing her come out.

He stopped about half a meter away from her and greeted her with a familiar voice, "Willow, long time no see."

Willow didn't expect to see Jimmy here.

Just a few days ago, he had liked her Stories, and now, on the first day back from her honeymoon, she ran into him. She thought he would be back for Christmas.

Willow was momentarily stunned when she saw him, and as he walked closer, she noticed that his usually soft, thick, coffee-colored hair was now cut very short. He was wearing jeans, a white shirt, a long black down jacket, and white sneakers, still looking like the sunny big kid he always was. The shorter hair added a touch of maturity to his appearance.

Willow smiled and greeted him, "Long time no see."

Both of them laughed at the somewhat awkward greeting, instantly dispelling any subtle tension.

Jimmy took the initiative to say, "Sorry, Willow, I couldn't make it to your wedding. There was an important exam at school, so I didn't contact you."

Then, he pulled a box out of his down jacket pocket and handed it to Willow with a smile. He shyly said, "A wedding gift for you. I hope it's not too late."

Willow didn't immediately take the gift but smiled and said, "It's okay, the exam is more important."

Jimmy, with a slight smile, explained, "My mom only told me about the wedding on the day of your wedding, otherwise I would have chosen to attend your wedding. Exams can be retaken, but your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event."

Before Willow could respond, Mitchell's deep voice came from behind. He slyly remarked, "The wedding is indeed a once-in-a-lifetime event."

He answered the question for her.

Willow turned around at the sound and saw his car parked by the roadside. He had already walked up behind her. Her eyes lit up when she saw him, and she softly said, "Mitchell."

Jimmy's eyes darkened slightly when he saw Willow's expression towards Mitchell, but he quickly returned to normal. Seeing Mitchell standing with Willow, he didn't seem awkward or uncomfortable. He smiled and handed the gift box to Willow again. He insisted, "Willow, your husband wouldn't mind you accepting a wedding gift from a friend, would he?"

"No, Mitchell isn't like that," Willow replied as she looked at Jimmy and then at Mitchell, hurriedly explaining, and then took the wedding gift from Jimmy.

Mitchell knew Jimmy was doing this on purpose, but he couldn't help clenching his fist at his side. He said calmly, "Willow has the right to make friends. I won't restrict her."

"Mr. Jonah, you're indeed a gentleman," Jimmy said slowly with a smile.

Then, he turned to Willow with a bright smile. He said excitedly, "Willow, aren't you going to open it? I guarantee you'll like what I got you."

Willow glanced at Mitchell, who had no expression on his face, but she knew he wasn't happy. She hesitated and then smiled softly. She simply replied, "I'll open it later."

Jimmy didn't give her the chance to open it later, continuing to smile. He still continued to insist, "Since Mr. Jonah doesn't mind, why not open it now? He said he wouldn't restrict your friendships, so he wouldn't mind a friend's gift."

Willow was now certain that Jimmy was deliberately making her open the gift in front of Mitchell. She had a bad feeling about it, thinking it was best not to open it now.

She was still hesitating, trying to find an excuse to refuse Jimmy, when Mitchell said, "Willow, go ahead and open it."

Willow looked at Mitchell. He was staring at Jimmy as he spoke.

Meanwhile, Jimmy kept smiling and urging her to open the gift, ignoring Mitchell's sharp gaze.

Willow braced herself and slowly opened the box. Inside was a very vintage music box. She gently took it out and couldn't help but sighed in relief.

Fortunately, it wasn't anything strange.
