Chapter 241 Watching a Show
Mitchell sat on the horse, exuding an air of generosity that made people want to keep watching. With a smile in his eyes, Mitchell said, "You lost. Similarly, give us five points for the collaboration project, as agreed."
Ella angrily remarked, "You're playing dirty!" Mitchell responded with three words, "Winning is winning."
"Mitchell, do you need that money? You're haggling over this with me." Ella widened her eyes and stared at Mitchell. Mitchell dismounted, patted the horse's head, and prepared to head back, holding the reins. "I don't need it," he said. Ella's face brightened upon hearing this. But before she could celebrate, she heard Mitchell leisurely say, "That's not too much either. We can give everyone a bonus." He then walked away, leading the horse at a fast pace. Ella stomped her feet in anger, watching Mitchell's departing figure, and said, "What a scary businessman."
Mitchell had yet to go far when he heard Ella's complaint. He stopped walking but didn't turn around. On purpose, he reminded her, "I'll thank you on behalf of the team for now. Remember to bring the supplemental agreement to the company next Monday." He then walked away without looking back. Ella yelled loudly in frustration, "He annoys me so much!"
Willow sat on a chair in the rest area, drinking a bottle of mineral water. She watched Mitchell and Ella from afar, unsure of what they were talking about. Ella happened to have her back toward her, so Willow couldn't see her expression, only Mitchell's smiling face. The two of them were having a pleasant conversation.
Willow turned away and stopped looking when Daniel walked over and plopped down next to her. "I'm so tired. Riding a horse is even more exhausting than running. I used to watch others ride horses on set and wanted to try it myself, but today was enough. I don't plan on doing this activity anymore. Gotta take care of myself." Willow handed her a bottle of water and said with a smile, "Take a break. You worked hard riding that horse."
"It's been a while since he last rode, and he was eager for it," Daniel leaned back in his chair. He noticed his brother and Ella standing nearby but couldn't hear what they were saying. After a while, his brother led the horse away, leaving Ella dancing in place. Soon after, she also took the horse and followed her brother.
"What are they doing? Playing hide and seek?" Daniel casually asked while drinking water. Ella's earlier behavior really looked like she was playing hide and seek.
Willow looked up in the direction Daniel mentioned. Mitchell was leading the horse in front, with Ella following behind. The combination of the blue sky, white clouds, forest, and the attractive pair made it look like a painting. Willow shook her head, "I don't know, I didn't pay much attention to them." Daniel was wise enough not to say much, "Let's go to town tonight. I heard there will be singing there. I wonder if it's any good."
Willow immediately became interested. She wanted to listen to people sing. "Okay. Let me tell Sister later. It would be great if everyone could go together."
"Alright, let everyone know on the way back. If they feel tired, they can rest at the villa," Daniel decided with a clap of his thighs.
On the way back, Daniel mentioned that there would be singing in town at night, and he wanted to go after dinner, asking for everyone's opinion. After a day of playing, Quentin Garcia and Hannah Garcia fell asleep on the way back, so Madison and her family decided not to go out again. Victor didn't like crowds, and Hank and Rachel had no plans to go either. The remaining seven of them went to town after dinner.
Actually, the singing they were talking about was a wandering singer, or more like someone who learned to sing and set up a makeshift stage in the countryside, surrounded by many small vendors selling food and other things. It was really lively, even though it was already dark outside, and there were lots of people. The small stage was packed with spectators. They got separated in the crowd.
Initially, Daniel held onto Willow, but she kept squeezing in, and eventually, the two of them got separated as well. Willow stayed in place, afraid of getting lost later. Looking at the sea of people, she estimated that most of the people in the vicinity had come to watch the show. Suddenly, someone accidentally bumped into Willow from the side, nearly causing her to fall to the ground. Just as she was about to lose her balance, someone behind her steadied her. She regained her footing and heard the familiar deep voice above her, "Are you alright?"
"Mitchell." Willow didn't expect Mitchell to be behind her. She hadn't noticed him at all. It was fortunate that Mitchell was there; otherwise, she would have fallen with so many people around and could have gotten hurt.
Lily, who bumped into Willow, was overweight and had a kind and friendly face. She kept apologizing to Willow, saying, "Young Girl, I'm really sorry. The crowd was so crowded, I didn't notice you. Are you alright?"
Willow understood that it was normal to be pushed in a crowded place and smiled, saying, "I'm fine, sister."
During their conversation, Lily enthusiastically opened up and complimented Willow, saying, "Oh my, this young girl is really good-looking. And look at the guy standing behind Willow, Mitchell. He is so talented and handsome. The two of you make a perfect couple. Are you married? Do you have children? If you have a child, they would definitely be good-looking. If you haven't, you should hurry up and have one." Lily's remarks became more and more absurd, and Willow hurriedly intervened, saying, "We're not married; we're not a couple."
"Oh, you're not married yet? Young man, you have to work hard. Don't let such a good girl slip away." Lily started educating Mitchell.
Willow dared not look at Mitchell's face. His face was turning red with anxiety. Willow interrupted, saying, "Lily, you misunderstood. We're not a couple. Mitchell is my brother."
"Oh, so you're siblings! No wonder you look so alike. I thought you two were a married couple. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding." Lily's thoughts became clear, but Willow felt like she couldn't keep up with Lily's thinking. Fortunately, someone called her from ahead, and Lily made her way forward with all her might.
Willow turned back and glanced at Mitchell, then grinned foolishly, saying, "Hehe, Lily is so funny." Seeing Mitchell silent, she continued, "I wonder where Daniel went."
