Chapter 385 Almost Got a Nosebleed

"Matthew's wedding banquet is happening soon. When are we going to drink at yours?" Victor put down his wine glass and asked with a smile.

"I definitely want to marry her as soon as possible, but I don't know what Willow thinks." Mitchell admitted his thoughts in front of Victor. After all these years of life-and-death camaraderie, they never hid anything from each other. Meanwhile, the others were engrossed in a heated game of poker, with Patrick's excited or sighing voice occasionally echoing from the private room. The two friends on the sofa rarely had such heart-to-heart talks.

"If you don't know what she thinks, just ask her. Why haven't you settled this yet? Willow is all about you; she wouldn't say no, would she?" Victor found it unreasonable that she would refuse. From his long observation, he was sure of it. Mitchell was just too caught up in the situation to see clearly.

"Alright, thanks, Victor." The last time he proposed, Willow fell asleep. Later, he thought it was a bit hasty. Whatever others had, Willow should have, too. So, he specially ordered a custom engagement ring and planned to propose formally.

"Victor, how long are you staying this time? Have you found the person you were looking for?" Mitchell continued to ask. Their overseas market business was now basically stable, so Victor didn't need to stay abroad for long periods. He had always mentioned looking for someone, and they didn't know if he had found the person. They all hoped Victor could spend more time in Horizon City so they could see each other more often.

Victor looked down at his wine glass and paused before answering, "I'll stay a bit longer this time. I have some leads." He thought, 'The person I've run into at the airport should be her.'

The two continued drinking and chatting, finishing half a bottle of wine. Mitchell picked up his phone but still didn't see a reply from Willow. He wondered what kind of event Danielle had planned. Danielle had always been mischievous and full of ideas, often dragging Willow into her antics. Tonight was bound to be lively.

The group in the hotel suite was indeed having a blast. After changing clothes, they seemed to have let loose, with many empty bottles around and plenty of food left untouched as they focused on drinking. They hadn't organized any special activities or games. They just relaxed and enjoyed some drinks and conversation. The TV was playing the latest series, and they all sat on the bed, engrossed in it.

Madison and Willow had the lowest alcohol tolerance, so their faces were flushed, and they were talking more, smiling foolishly. The others, who were more accustomed to social drinking, were a bit more sober. They thought Matthew and the others had left after dropping them off at the hotel, not knowing they had gone to a bar to drink and play poker, waiting to take those ladies home.

In the bar's private room, the poker game had gone several rounds. Maybe the atmosphere had changed, as Patrick hadn't lost much tonight. Although he was still the only one losing, he saw it as progress and kept telling Nicholas to join them next time.

Matthew just smiled without saying anything, thinking that if he and Liam hadn't been somewhat distracted in the second half, Patrick wouldn't have lost so little. He glanced at his watch; it was almost eleven. Madison hadn't called him, and no one's phone had rung in the private room, making him feel less disheartened. After all, everyone was in the same boat. He thought, 'Looks like the girls' party isn't over yet.'

"Matthew, stop checking the time. Just give Madison some freedom. They're having a party night, right? Look at Mitchell and Liam; they haven't gotten any calls either, which means Madison and the others are having a great time. Let's keep going. I feel like my luck is about to turn around; I've had a few good hands in a row," Patrick urged, noticing Matthew glancing at his phone from time to time.

Liam and Mitchell were feeling a bit guilty. They had both secretly checked their phones countless times. Liam, sitting across from Matthew, looked up and met Matthew's eyes. They both understood each other without saying a word, deciding to focus seriously on the game and give Patrick a hard time.

Nicholas had interacted with them a few times and had gotten to know their personalities. He had only heard about them or seen them in newspapers and magazines before, thinking they were unreachable figures. He never imagined he would one day sit and play poker with them. The resort project he developed later attracted Matthew's attention, so Matthew proactively invested a significant amount of money through JK Group. With ample funding, the project was now progressing smoothly, with performance doubling compared to last year. Nicholas had previously bought a small house in Horizon City, but now, with Rachel, he was planning to upgrade to a bigger one in preparation for marriage.

Mitchell, squinting, leaned back on the black leather sofa. He had just received the custom ring a few days ago and was contemplating how to propose, 'Should I plan something like Matthew did and give Willow a surprise?' Suddenly, his phone vibrated. Mitchell shifted from his relaxed position, elbows on his knees, and saw that Danielle had sent him a message on Facebook. He picked up his wine glass with one hand while opening Facebook with the other, wondering why Danielle had time to message him during the party and why Willow hadn't responded to him for so long.

As soon as he opened Facebook, Mitchell saw the photo Danielle had sent. The sip of wine he had just taken sprayed out, and his cheeks and ears quickly turned red. He swore that if he had known what kind of photo it was, he wouldn't have taken that sip of wine, nor would he have opened it in the private room. At the very least, he would have gone to the bathroom.

Victor, sitting next to him, couldn't help but ask, "What's up?"

"Nothing, Victor," Mitchell cleared his throat, trying to stay calm and respond in a normal tone. Although he had only glanced at the photo before quickly locking his phone, the image was now stuck in his mind.

Mitchell saw Willow wearing an outfit similar to the one she had worn at the beach hotel last time. The skirt was so short it barely covered her thighs, with her long, straight, snow-white legs exposed. Her innocent eyes looked directly at the camera, making Mitchell feel like she was looking at him.

All the blood in his body seemed to rush to his head. Mitchell tilted his head back, not daring to look down because he felt like he was about to get a nosebleed.
