Chapter 123 The Next Day
Madison pushed away Mattew.
"Go out. I need to dish out the dumplings." With a soft and sultry voice, she blushed as Matthew approached her and embraced her from behind.
He stopped teasing and obediently went to sit at the dining table while Madison brought out the dumplings, accompanied by a small dish of vinegar.
"Honey, have some with me. You only had that barbecue earlier. You'll get hungry later."
"I'll just eat one. Willow hardly touched the food she ordered. I ate most of it, and I'm still full."
Matthew picked up the first dumpling, dipped it in a little vinegar, and fed it to Madison, who accepted it with a warm smile.
"Take your time eating. I'm going to take a shower."
"Okay."
Then, Matthew cleaned up his bowl and headed back to his room.
Madison had yet to return, so he took out his phone to call Mitchell.
"Matthew, what's up? Why are you calling so late?" Mitchell quickly answered.
"Willow got drunk by herself tonight," Matthew said calmly.
"Willow, is she okay?" Mitchell's tone became anxious upon hearing that Willow Nelson had a little too much to drink.
"She's fine, I brought her home."
"Alright..."
"Why she drank so much?"
"I don't know." Mitchell really didn't know.
Could it be because of someone on her mind?
"Forget it. It's late, get some rest."
"Alright."
Matthew didn't say much more.
After her shower, Madison headed to the room where NU'EST was staying and saw that Willow Nelson was already asleep. She carefully covered her with a blanket before going back to her room.
She walked in just in time to hear Matthew on the phone say, "Forget it. It's late. Get some rest."
He must have been talking to Mitchell. It was clear he was still concerned about Willow.
Matthew ended the call and leaned against the balcony door in his room. He was tall and good-looking, with the soft room light highlighting his refined features. A slight smile appeared on his lips, showing his contentment and happiness, which was quite captivating.
Madison blushed under his intense gaze.
He had woven a web of affection around her, and she was trapped, surrounded by the warmth of his gaze.
Matthew put away his phone and approached with a smile, gently touching her cheek.
She shied away from his gaze, afraid to look up and get lost in such gentleness, deeper and deeper.
Matthew lifted her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes, where she saw herself blushed.
"Honey," he whispered, his voice laced with desire. This sent shivers down Madison's spine, a tremor in her heart as if a tiny current had zapped from her chest, over her scalp, and down her back.
Her cheeks felt increasingly warm, as though they might ignite at any moment.
"Were you just on the phone with Third Bro?" Madison asked, nudging him softly.
"Yeah, but I didn't really say much. I'll leave it to Willow to handle it. Let's not worry about them."
Matthew wrapped his arms around Madison tighter, bending down, his face drawing closer to hers. Entranced, she forgot how to think, her eyes slowly closing.
In the silent night, their hearts raced, nearly bursting from their chests. At noon, their lips met softly, quenching a long thirst like a welcomed rain. He left suggestive marks down her fair skin.
Madison moaned softly, spurring him on even further. In a swift move, he bent down, picked her up, and carried her to bed.
He laid her on the bed and took her hands, wrapping them around his neck. He kissed her fiercely, his lips urgent as they parted hers, intertwining with passion.
In the morning, they were still tightly embraced. Madison woke first and shifted slightly, stirring the man above her. He murmured in a husky, sleepy voice, "Sleep some more. It's still early."
His voice had that same raspy, alluring quality it had last night in their moments of deep passion, and she blushed irresistibly at the memory.
"I should check if Willow is up."
"Don't worry about her. She's a big girl. She can get up on her own."
"Oh, let me go see her. It's her first time over. She's not familiar with the place yet."
Madison struggled to rise.
The person above her said with restrained patience, "Don't move!"
But Madison felt a surge of morning vitality awakening within her and froze, afraid to disturb it. Soon, she seized the opportunity of Matthew's distraction and swiftly slipped out of bed, escaping the room.
Behind her, she heard the content laughter of someone satiated.
After getting dressed, Madison went out and surprisingly found Willow already up, browsing her phone on the couch.
"Willow, you're up. Are you feeling okay?" Madison asked with concern.
"I'm fine. Thanks for bringing me home last night."
"That's good. Don't go out drinking alone again, okay?"
Willow Nelson nodded earnestly, agreeing intensely. "Uh-huh, got it."
"I'll go make breakfast," Madison said, heading toward the kitchen.
"No need. I ordered takeout. It's a lot. Should be enough," Willow hurriedly intervened.
Madison turned back and settled down next to her in the living room.
"Where are Quentin and Hannah? I didn't see the kids around the house," said Willow Nelson, feeling a bit down, not having spotted her beloved nephew and niece after getting up.
"They're at a week-long summer camp organized by their school. They won't be back until next week."
"That's fantastic. They're already off on their little adventures. Those two are really something!" Willow had thought they might have been at The Old Residence hanging out with Grandpa.
As the two engaged in casual conversation, Madison couldn't help but wonder if Willow's teary drunkenness from the night before had really happened, as today she seemed back to her usual cheerful and bubbly self.
"I didn't do anything regrettable last night after drinking too much, did I?" Willow asked cautiously.
"No, you just fell asleep at the table," Madison replied with a warm smile.
"Did I say anything weird, by any chance?"
"Not at all." Madison chose not to mention the ramblings of the previous night. If Willow wanted to share or seek advice, she would've approached her when sober. Bringing up drunken confessions felt unnecessary.
Before long, the takeout they ordered arrived, and they set up the table together.
Madison got ready to wake Matthew up for breakfast, but when she reached his door, he was already coming out.
"Matthew, you're up just in time for breakfast. Willow ordered from that place you like."
They joined Willow at the dining table, and she quickly served them creamy corn soup.
"Matthew, breakfast's ready."
"Yeah."
As soon as Matthew sat down, Willow's cheerful chatter ceased, and she bowed her head quietly, concentrating on her meal.
Madison found it funny.
