Chapter 471 Stories' Likes

They had dinner at the old lady's house at the entrance of the village.

Willow chatted with the old lady, who was doing handicrafts, for a long time.

The old lady insisted on having them stay for dinner. The meal was very simple, which both Willow and Mitchell enjoyed it immensely.

When they were about to leave, Mitchell slipped a stack of money into the bottom of the old lady's handicraft basket before they said goodbye and left. They were a bit worried about getting back, knowing that the bus to the village would no longer be running. They planned to try their luck with a taxi, hoping they could still find one.

To their surprise, as soon as they walked out of the village entrance, they saw the tractor that had brought them there in the morning parked by the roadside.

The tractor driver was quietly sitting in the vehicle, munching on a bun.

Willow and Mitchell quickly walked over to him.

Seeing them approach, the driver stuffed the last of the bun into his mouth, took a sip of water, and with a big smile, opened the door and jumped out.

He said with a smile, "Are you guys out? Let's go, I'll take you back."

Willow was both touched and shocked. She remarked, "You didn't wait here for us the whole time, did you? We feel so bad."

The driver smiled sheepishly and scratched his head.

"You tourists don't know the situation here. There are no cars going back at night. I wasn't in a hurry to go back, so I thought I'd wait for you after finishing my business. I forgot to ask for your phone number when we parted this morning. I was really worried you might have left already, so I came early," the driver spoke as if it was the most natural thing in the world for him to wait for them.

Willow was deeply moved, and even Mitchell was impressed by the driver's simple and honest nature. He said sincerely to the driver, "Thank you."

It made the driver blush, his dark skin unable to hide his shyness. He scratched the back of his head again, smiled, and hurriedly invited them into the vehicle. He urged, "It's cold outside, get in the car. I'll take you back."

"Okay." Mitchell helped Willow climb into the seat, and he followed. They sat in their old spot in the back.

The driver started the tractor with a roar and began the journey back.

As they drove back, Willow and Mitchell realized that there really were no cars on the road at night. It would have been impossible to get a taxi. If the driver hadn't waited for them, they wouldn't have been able to return that night. They also realized that the driver probably hadn't had dinner, as they had seen him eating a dry bun earlier.

The driver dropped them off right at the entrance of their bed and breakfast. As they got off, Mitchell tried to give the driver several bills as a fare.

The driver said, "I didn't do it for the money. It was on my way. I can't take your money. What kind of person would that make me?"

No matter how much Willow and Mitchell insisted, the driver refused to take the money. He jumped back into the vehicle and was ready to leave.

Mitchell, taking advantage of a moment when the driver wasn't looking, slipped the money into the driver's coat pocket. He smiled and said, "Thank you, it was a lot of trouble for you today."

The driver waved and smiled warmly. He warmly replied, "You're welcome."

Then, he drove off in his tractor.

Willow and Mitchell watched him leave before holding hands and walking into the bed and breakfast, smiling.

As soon as they walked in, they saw the owner standing at the door waiting for them. Seeing them return, he seemed to sigh in relief and said, "You're finally back. I was worried you wouldn't have a ride back and was about to call you."

"Thank you for worrying about us. The driver from this morning waited to take us back," Willow said, feeling very touched by the hospitality.

"That's good. You should go rest early," the owner said with a smile. After they went inside, he went to the courtyard to close the gate.

The second day of their honeymoon was so fulfilling and touching. Willow felt like she had become part of the place in just two days. Everywhere they went, people treated them like family, offering them whatever food they had. It was the first time she had experienced such genuine hospitality on her travels. She really liked it here. Mitchell had chosen the perfect place.

That night, after taking a bath, she lay in bed. Mitchell had bathed earlier and warmed up the bed for her. She climbed in, feeling cozy and warm. Smiling, she looked through the photos they had taken that day, selected several, and posted her first honeymoon story. There were so many beautiful photos that she shared all her favorites to others.

She praised the place they were visiting in her caption, giving it a big shout-out.

Madison was the first to like her post and commented.

Madison: [I've been in Frostpine for so long and never visited this place. I'll have to check it out next time.]

Daniel: [Mitchell really knows how to capture your best side in photos.]

Ophelia also liked and commented.

Ophelia: [The photos make me want to visit. I'll plan a trip with Danielle next time.]

Rachel saw her story too.

Rachel: [I went there once when I was little. It hasn't changed much.]

Patrick: [Willow, come back soon, and bring Mitchell with you.]

He had been overwhelmed with work since Mitchell left and missed him more than anyone.

Willow's colleagues also liked her post one after another, and soon the number of likes exceeded a hundred. Most of the people who saw her story liked it.

Among all these people, Willow noticed a name she hadn't seen in a long time.

It was Jimmy.

Since he went abroad, they hadn't been in touch. She didn't invite him to her wedding personally because his parents attended, invited by Patricia, so she assumed he knew. But he never contacted her, not even a call or a message, so she didn't reach out either.

Although they had said they would remain friends, there was still some awkwardness. And now that she was married, it was even less likely she would contact him.

However, now, after all this time, he appeared in her notifications again.

Christmas was coming. He might be coming back to the homeland.
