Chapter 439 The Best Birthday Gift
Mitchell felt the sound of the explosions resonating in his heart, his eyes filled with stars and fireworks.
In his thirty-something years, no one had ever prepared such a romantic surprise for him.
Maybe because he was a boy, his parents would celebrate his birthday when he was younger, but the cakes and gifts were the same year after year, so he didn't have high expectations for his birthdays.
As he grew up, he always celebrated with his buddies, sometimes inviting Willow and Danielle. Matthew's gifts were always practical things like houses and cars.
It was not that he didn't enjoy celebrating his birthday with them, but there was no element of surprise, which felt more like a gathering of friends on that special day.
So, Willow had truly given him a huge surprise this time.
He wasn't happy because he liked fireworks, but because those fireworks were set off just for him.
Mitchell seemed a bit emotional, holding Willow tightly in his arms.
As the fireworks lit up the night sky one after another, he suddenly lowered his head and kissed Willow. At that moment, all he wanted to do was to kiss her.
The fireworks lasted for about ten minutes, lighting up the entire small square. After they ended, Mitchell held Willow's hand as they walked back. He kept looking at her with a grin on his face.
Willow felt his intense gaze and turned to look at him, meeting his smiling eyes, which seemed like a vortex deeply attracting her.
She silently marveled that the fireworks were beautiful, but Mitchell's smile while watching them was even more captivating.
On the way back, she wondered what Mitchell's reaction would be when he saw the things in the house. After all, he seemed mesmerized by the fireworks.
Mitchell felt elated by the early birthday gift, holding Willow's hand tightly. With a doting smile, he said to Willow, "Come back and have some more food with me, okay?"
Willow thought about the cake she had bought, which they definitely had to eat together, and nodded in agreement with a smile. She excitedly replied, "Okay."
When they reached the apartment door, Willow deliberately took a step back, waiting for Mitchell to open the door. She was quite looking forward to his reaction when he saw what she had prepared.
Mitchell didn't know that there were more surprises besides the fireworks. If he had known, he wouldn't have gone anywhere that day and just stayed home.
As he opened the door, he kept looking back at Willow, as if he couldn't bear to take his eyes off her for even a second.
When he finally opened the door and turned back to look inside, he was stunned. He hadn't guessed any of this at the park; now he was completely unprepared for what he saw. His hand still on the doorknob, his face was expressionless, like he was in shock.
Willow stood behind him, seeing him frozen, and gently tilted her head in front of him, calling, "Mitchell?"
Mitchell still didn't respond.
Willow suddenly felt a bit anxious, wondering if the surprise had turned into a shock.
Didn't Mitchell like it? Was the decoration too much? Would he think it was a mess?
She suddenly felt a bit uneasy.
Seeing everything inside the door, Mitchell was hugely surprised, overwhelmed with emotion that surged through his chest, leaving him momentarily speechless.
He felt incredibly lucky to have her.
Willow noticed he still hadn't reacted and was about to explain, saying that if he didn't like it, she would clean it up immediately.
Just as she was about to step forward and start tidying up, Mitchell turned around and pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly.
Willow hurriedly said, "Mitchell, don't you like this? I'll go in and clean it up."
Before she could finish her sentence, he lowered his head and captured her talking lips with precision, kissing her deeply and urgently, as if he wanted to merge her into his body.
The hot kisses fell one after another, leaving her breathless and anxious.
They were still standing at the door, and someone might pass by and see them.
Willow tried to push Mitchell away to get inside, but he seemed to sense her resistance and held her even tighter, kissing her even more fiercely. She reached out to push his hands away, but he grabbed her hands and pinned them against the wall, intertwining their fingers.
Willow felt herself running out of breath, her mind growing foggy, and her body becoming weak, almost sliding down the wall.
Mitchell caught her just in time, hearing the sound of the elevator, indicating someone was coming up. He quickly turned, carrying her inside, and kicked the door shut.
Even after entering, he didn't release her lips, continuing to kiss her in the balloon-decorated hallway.
It wasn't until they were both out of breath that he finally let go of her lips.
Her rosy lips were now even more flushed, looking so tempting that he almost couldn't resist kissing her again. Both of them were panting, and Mitchell cupped Willow's face, resting his forehead against hers, smiling.
In a deep, husky voice, he said, "I love it."
Willow silently thought to herself that she could feel his affection.
After calming down, Mitchell held her hand as they slowly walked down the balloon-lit hallway towards the room.
He opened the door to see the floor covered in balloons, a heart shape on the bed, and a wrapped photo album on the table.
He walked over, gently unwrapped it, and started flipping through the pages. Inside were not only photos they had taken together but also old photos of the two of them, even from their childhood.
As Mitchell flipped through the album, his eyes welled up.
Willow was stunned again, unsure if he liked this birthday surprise. She was worried that the surprise might have been too detailed and wondered if he was about to cry.
Looking at Mitchell flipping through the album, she softly said, "Mitchell."
He turned to look at her, his eyes indeed a bit red, and with a smile, his deep, husky voice echoed in the room. He remarked sincerely, "Today, I received the most beautiful and precious birthday gift."
