Chapter 526 Handle According to Company Regulations
While lying in bed, Willow suddenly thought about calling the police. She turned to Mitchell and asked, "Honey, does the café really have surveillance that caught us?"
She was curious if Mitchell's thoughts matched hers. She only meant to scare Savannah, but it seemed there was actual footage.
"No," Mitchell replied.
"Then how do we provide evidence if we call the police?" Willow asked, shocked, feeling it was pointless without evidence for such a small matter.
"There are plenty of ways," Mitchell said bluntly.
Willow was stunned for a moment, then hugged Mitchell's arm, playfully saying, "Forget it, don't call the police."
She hadn't been harmed, and it would be fine as long as she didn't see that person again.
"Silly girl," Mitchell said affectionately.
He stayed in the lounge for another ten minutes before getting up to leave.
After leaving the lounge, Mitchell went back to his desk to organize meeting materials, aiming to finish quickly and go home early. Just as he stood up, he heard some commotion outside. He frowned and walked towards the door.
Savannah had planned to go to Mitchell's office to plead her case, but as soon as she reached the 16th floor, two people from the secretary's office stopped her.
After Mitchell's morning scolding, Amy arranged for two senior employees to guard his door. She instructed them to report anyone without an appointment and specifically told them to watch out for Savannah, who had been fired and was not allowed to see Mitchell.
The two employees didn't slack off, so Savannah was stopped as soon as she stepped out of the elevator.
Realizing she couldn't see Mitchell, let alone plead with him or apologize, Savannah said to the secretaries, "I have something very important to discuss with Mr. Jonah. Why are you stopping me?"
The two senior employees stood firm. One of them responded calmly, "I'm very sorry, Mr. Jonah is not seeing anyone this afternoon, and you don't have an appointment, so we can't let you in."
She even had a slight professional smile, contrasting sharply with Savannah's state.
"Why didn't I need an appointment before? I'm an employee. Do I need an appointment for work matters?" Savannah asked persistently.
"Yes, even if Mr. Nelson comes, we need to notify Mr. Jonah first. So, please leave," a secretary replied formally, making Savannah anxious.
If Savannah couldn't see Mitchell immediately, HR would escort her to handle her dismissal. She had to see him today.
Taking advantage of a moment of inattention, she suddenly rushed inside.
The two secretaries quickly reacted and dragged her out.
After being stopped again, Savannah shouted, "Let go of me, I need to see Mr. Jonah, let me in."
The two secretaries held her on either side and dragged her out.
Mitchell walked out of his office just in time to see the commotion. He frowned, clearly displeased, and coldly asked, "What's going on?"
The two secretaries quickly apologized, "Mr. Jonah, sorry for the disturbance. This intern insisted on seeing you and tried to force her way in. We'll take her away now."
Seeing Mitchell, Savannah knew this was her last chance. She rushed to him and anxiously explained, "Mr. Jonah, I didn't know she was your wife, and I didn't mean to spill coffee on her. Please don't call the police. I'm willing to accept the company's punishment, just don't fire me. I really need this job. I can apologize to Mrs. Jonah. Is she here? I'll apologize right now."
She was very emotional and tried to rush into Mitchell's office again, but the secretaries quickly stopped her.
Savannah continued to shout, "Why are you stopping me? Mr. Jonah hasn't said anything. Why can't I apologize to Mrs. Jonah?"
Mitchell sternly said, "Enough."
Though his voice wasn't loud, it was very intimidating.
Savannah shivered, and even the secretaries knew Mitchell was really angry.
Mitchell looked at Savannah and said, "Who do you think you are to see my wife?"
"I just want to apologize to Mrs. Jonah," Savannah stammered, almost unable to speak, her face pitiful and her lips tightly bitten.
Mitchell continued, "Following company policy is my bottom line. Please don't come to us again, especially don't disturb my wife."
Just then, the HR director rushed over and said to Mitchell, "Mr. Jonah, I'm sorry. I'll handle this."
Mitchell nodded sternly and turned to leave.
As soon as he entered the elevator, the secretaries sighed in relief.
Mitchell was really angry this time; they had never seen him speak so harshly to anyone before. Everyone concluded that Willow was definitely a priority for the company.
Savannah slumped to the ground, smiling bitterly, knowing what was coming next.
The HR director efficiently took her to the HR department, quickly processed her dismissal, and arranged for two people to escort her back to the 15th floor to pack her personal belongings.
When Jenny saw Savannah return, she approached and, seeing the two HR people behind her, asked in a low voice, "Savannah, how did it go? Did you see Mr. and Mrs. Jonah ?"
Savannah didn't answer and mechanically packed her belongings.
The other women in the office had already spread the news about what happened at the café, and no one sympathized with Savannah. Her intentions were almost written on her forehead, and she didn't even realize she had offended Mitchell's wife.
There weren't many people in the project department at the moment; many hadn't returned, and the project manager was still in a meeting. A few guys who didn't know what had happened came over and asked, "Savannah, what's going on?"
Savannah remained silent, feeling ashamed under their gaze. She quickly packed her things and was escorted out of the JK Group building by the two HR colleagues.
Holding her few personal belongings, she walked out of the JK Group building, then couldn't help but turn back to look. It was still that iconic building she had almost stepped into, only to ruin her chances herself.
Finally, she couldn't help but squat down and cry loudly.
