Chapter 139 Locked Up
Victor felt a twinge of surprise.
‘Could Matthew really be so heartless toward Brianna?’
Brianna was Matthew's first love. She introduced him to the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with love, and because of that, he had always held onto the sweet memories of their past, always sparing her a little extra grace.
Brianna wrecked everything. No one else was to blame.
Matthew and Madison returned from the hotel in the afternoon. They didn't want to worry Grandpa or the two little ones. They had applied more ointment in the morning, and the bruises on their faces were hardly noticeable when they got home.
Madison called Rachel, not wanting to cause her concern. She kept it simple, saying she felt a bit under the weather and couldn't make it to the studio. Rachel didn't pry and told her to rest properly at home.
When the two arrived at The Old Residence, Quentin Garcia and Hannah Garcia asked noisily if their parents had gone out to have fun on their own. Matthew kept his answer brief, promising to take them along next time.
Kids have short memories. Seeing their parents return made them so happy they instantly forgot about the previous night's absence.
Madison sighed in relief. She was never good at lying. The little ones didn't pose much of a problem, but she hated to make Grandpa worry at his age.
Thankfully, the night had passed without incident. Otherwise, she truly didn't know how she would have faced it.
In the evening, Madison spent a long time soaking in the bathtub. When she didn't come out for quite a while, Matthew, growing anxious, knocked on the door. "Are you okay in there? Do you need any help?"
"I'm fine. I'll be out soon," responded Madison, standing up from the bathtub.
Wrapped in a bathrobe with her hair still damp, she said, "I forgot to bring a change of clothes when I went in."
Matthew handed her a dry towel and began gently drying her hair from behind. He understood her fear. Nothing irreversible had happened, but he knew the despair she had felt and that he had failed to protect her.
Putting the towel aside, Matthew wrapped his arms around Madison from behind, his chin resting atop her head. "I'm sorry. You were scared, weren't you?" His voice was heavy with remorse.
Madison was shocked and teary-eyed, not because he said sorry but because he understood her fear. She had kept quiet, hoping the incident would fade away. But the memory lingered, haunting her whenever she closed her eyes.
Matthew gently turned her around to face him. "I'm sorry, it won't happen again."
With tenderness, he kissed Madison's forehead and eyes and worked his way down to her nose, cheeks, and ears, finally settling on her lips. He kissed her with such care as if she were the world's most precious treasure.
Drugs had fueled Madison's passion the night before, but now Matthew wanted to give her the perfect pleasure, to overshadow the unpleasantness of that night, to make her remember only him.
He was extra cautious, indulging in a long foreplay, their lips and teeth mingling. His touch was gentle and lingering, his slow sucking patient as he awaited her reaction. His breath was near, creating a tingling sensation that made her heart race. Madison wrapped her slender arms around his waist tightly, feeling immense happiness. She slightly parted her lips and responded eagerly.
Matthew held Madison gently and walked slowly to the edge of the bed, then laid her down, pulling away slightly. He gazed deeply into the eyes of the adorable woman beneath him, who was already dazed from his kisses, and whispered, "I love you."
Madison looked up at the man above her, seeing her reflection in his eyes. She gazed back earnestly, replying, "I love you too, deeply."
They looked into each other's eyes, smiling with deep affection. Matthew leaned down again, his lips brushing hers like a feather, and then he explored her mouth more deeply.

Brianna didn't know where she was. She had been knocked out and brought here, kept in this dark place for days, driving her nearly insane. She was sure it was Matthew's doing, shocked by how ruthless he was to lock her up like this. The soundproofing in the cell was excellent. Her voice had grown hoarse from shouting, with no one paying any attention to her. With nothing but meals and water, she hadn't seen a soul. The room had a toilet, and that's where she took care of all her needs. After nearly a week alone in this place, she felt like she was losing her mind.
Her phone was taken, so she couldn't call for help or know where she was. She had avoided cameras when dealing with the older man and made sure her talk with Madison wasn't recorded. If they caught him, they might find out it was her, but she didn't care. She thought the man must have hurt Madison, so it didn't matter if they knew. Madison was ruined, and she believed Matthew wouldn't want her anymore.
Matthew was in his office when Victor called, "Matthew, Brianna's been demanding to see you. Do you want to meet with her?"
"I've got nothing to say to her. Confront her with that guy, and if she's responsible, deal with it accordingly without consulting me," Matthew said indifferently. "She brought all of this on herself."
Then he hung up the phone.
He had spent the last couple of days with Madison, worried that that incident would trouble her. Victor had been handling the investigation into that day's events.
That afternoon, an uninvited guest showed up. Brian walked in and reported, "Matthew, there's someone downstairs looking for you. He says his name is Hank."
Matthew looked up from the piles of paperwork, squinting slightly, puzzled as to why Hank would show up. Could it really be about the so-called collaboration he'd mentioned?
"Go down and bring him up."
"Sure, Matthew."
After Brian exited, Matthew put down his pen and leaned back in his chair. Clearly, Hank had known Brianna for some time and was aware of each other's identities. So why would he want to help Matthew? If Brianna had drugged Madison, it was none of his concern. He could have just watched from the sidelines or even taken advantage of their chaos to strike, but instead, he waited until things settled down a week later to make his move.
Or perhaps he was here to plead on Brianna's behalf.
Interesting!
