Chapter 353 Getting to the Bottom of It

Madison stared at Matthew with starry eyes, surprised that he had not only planned a proposal but also a wedding. Even her parents knew about it. What else had he been hiding from her?

"Honey, don't look at me like that," Matthew said, lips curling into a smile.

As if remembering something, Madison blushed, lightly punching his chest with her fist. Then, unusually, she leaned in and hugged Matthew. "Honey, you're so sweet." She pouted and planted a kiss on Matthew's cheek, looking at him with a smile.

Seeing his usually reserved wife being affectionate, Matthew's dark eyes softened. He reached out, cupping her head and the back of her neck, preventing her from moving away, and leaned in for a deep kiss. Their soft lips met, igniting a flurry of gentle kisses, intertwining between their lips and teeth, as one of their hands intertwined fingers.

A soft murmur escaped Madison’s lips, waking her up. She quickly pushed Matthew away, avoiding his kiss. "We're still in the car," she reminded him.

Seemingly oblivious, Matthew continued to kiss from her lips to her neck...

Slightly exasperated, Madison lightly bit his chest, prompting him to release her. He leaned against her shoulder, breathing heavily. His warm breath tickled her neck, making her squirm. They stayed in each other's arms for a while, then Matthew looked at her blushing face and couldn't help but smile.

Madison playfully glared at him, then looked down. Their clothes were a bit disheveled, making her even more embarrassed.

Matthew raised his hand, leisurely straightening his clothes, deliberately slowing down as his captivating eyes remained fixed on Madison. Madison busily fixed her clothes, avoiding his gaze.

After they tidied up, Madison noticed that Matthew hadn't started the car yet. She turned to him and asked, "Why aren't we heading home?"

With a smirk, Matthew replied, "Alright, let's go home." With that, he finally started the car and drove off.

Madison couldn't help but chuckle at the childishness of the man, even more so than Quentin.

After a night of excitement, they were truly exhausted when they got back home. Madison took a shower and went straight to bed. Watching Matthew still busy with his phone, she lay down and asked, puzzled, "Matthew, aren't you going to shower?"

Matthew indeed had something to do. He softly reassured her. "You go ahead and sleep, I'll make a call to Victor."

"Okay, don't stay up too late," Madison reminded him before drifting off to sleep.

Matthew walked to the balcony with his phone, dialed Victor's number, and the call was quickly connected. Matthew's serious face was a complete contrast to before. "Victor, how's it going? Did you find out?"

"I found out. I've locked down the IP address of that person, and I've already informed the police. The guy is probably in the detention center right now. We'll let him suffer a bit before releasing him," Victor reported to Matthew about the tasks he had assigned him.

It turned out that while preparing for the live TV broadcast to expose their relationship, Matthew also arranged for Victor to track down the first person who posted that Madison was a 'homewrecker' and a 'cheater'. That post was forwarded and commented on countless times, triggering an online attack on Madison. How could Matthew easily let go of such obvious rumors?
"Who is it? Have you found out clearly?" Matthew really couldn't think of any enemies they might have now.

"I've found out clearly. It's just an unemployed drifter who spends every day playing games in internet cafes, without a proper job or income. His initial intention for spreading rumors was purely psychological distortion. He said himself that he was jealous of the rich." Victor detailed all the findings to him.

Matthew also breathed a sigh of relief. That was good. As long as it was not some unknown opponent lurking in the shadows, it was fine. He became cautious after experiencing his parents' incident. It didn't matter if he was still alone, but now... it was different.

He had the most important person in his life to protect, ensuring nothing went wrong.

"Okay, then leave it to the police. Let him delete the post and issue an apology statement," Matthew finally instructed.

"Okay." Victor had also been busy all night and finally solved the problem.

Hanging up the phone, Matthew walked back into the room from the balcony. The dim light on the bedside was still on, and Madison was already asleep with her eyes closed.

He approached her quietly, bending down to check on her. Madison's delicate face was exposed, her breathing softly, a faint smile on her lips as if she was having a sweet dream. Her fluffy black hair spread on the pillow, resembling a serene and beautiful fairy tale princess.

Matthew lowered his head and gently kissed her forehead, smiling softly. "Honey, goodnight," he whispered, gazing at Madison's sleeping face for a moment before getting up to grab his pajamas and head to the shower.

Willow only found out about the online incident in the evening. After returning from the bar with Mitchell, she was taken straight to the apartment. Although she managed not to drink too much, staying up late and having a bit more to drink, she woke up only around noon the next day.

Mitchell had prepared food by the time she woke up. Willow ran out of the room wearing Mitchell's oversized shirt, seeing the steaming hot food on the table, she sat down and started eating eagerly.

Watching Willow in his shirt running towards him, Mitchell's eyes darkened, his Adam's apple involuntarily bobbing before he looked away.

Last night, Willow accidentally wet her pajamas while taking a shower, so he casually gave her one of his shirts to wear. It was dark in the room at night, so he didn't think much of it. Now, in broad daylight, seeing her in his shirt like this, with her long slender legs swaying in front of him, he regretted giving her his shirt.

Willow probably remembered his advice to drink less, as she had controlled herself well last night, only having a little to drink. So, she was very sober, which resulted in her being very obedient and well-behaved. After showering, she obediently covered herself with a blanket and went to sleep without any excessive behavior.

Mitchell watched as Willow sat at the dining table, her cheeks puffed out from the food, happily devouring breakfast. He didn't know if he wanted her to drink less or more. Either way, it seemed like he was the one feeling uncomfortable.

Sitting down, he tried not to look at the woman sitting across from him, who was completely attracted to him. He picked up his plate and fork, hesitated for a moment, and finally cleared his throat. "Go change your clothes first."
