Chapter 413 Matthew Was Clingy

When Quentin heard that Willow would also be coming, his eyes lit up just like Hannah's. Since returning to Horizon City, Willow often took them out to play, so both of them were very fond of her. The whole family escorted Willow, Mitchell, and Patrick to the door. The two little ones, knowing they would see them again tomorrow, happily waved goodbye and reminded them to come early.

Willow and Mitchell drove back to their apartment, and it was yet to be 10:30. Since it was the weekend, neither of them felt like sleeping. Mitchell was reluctant to sleep; even though they spent almost every day together, except when Mitchell had to travel for work, he still couldn't get enough of her. Willow, on the other hand, had slept too much during the day and wasn't sleepy at all.

Willow went to take a shower first. After her shower, she lay on the bed in her pajamas, reading a book. Mitchell made a couple of long work calls before going to shower. After his shower, he didn't come into the bedroom. Willow was halfway through her book when she realized he hadn't come to bed. She got out of bed, opened the door, and saw Mitchell sitting alone on the living room sofa, reading the notebook that recorded her thoughts under the floor lamp.

He was sitting with his head down, his eyes focused and serious, as if he were holding a precious treasure. He lingered on each page for a long time before gently turning it.

Willow stood at the bedroom door for a while, and he didn't notice her. Willow felt a bit embarrassed; Mitchell couldn't wait to read the notebook he hadn't finished last night.

Mitchell was deliberately reading in the living room because he was afraid Willow would feel embarrassed if he read it in the bedroom. He couldn't wait to finish it, so when he saw Willow reading in bed after his shower, he quietly took the notebook and left the room.

Willow watched Mitchell's profile for a while, then cleared her throat and walked over. Mitchell heard the sound, turned to look at her, and smiled warmly under the soft light.

In his deep, pleasant voice, he asked, "Why are you up?" Then he stood up and took Willow's hand, leading her to sit on the sofa with him.

"Mitchell, why didn't you come back to the bedroom?" Willow asked sweetly, her voice soft.

"I was afraid you'd feel embarrassed if I read it in your presence," Mitchell said with a gentle smile. He always knew Willow was shy.

Willow leaned against Mitchell's chest as he held her. "Have you finished reading it?"

"Not yet," Mitchell replied with a smile. He was reading each page carefully and slowly, so he hadn't finished.

"You haven't finished yet?" Willow said in disbelief.

She knew what she had written; she pondered, 'It shouldn't take two nights to read. How slow is Mitchell reading?'

"Why did you get up?" Mitchell asked.

"I saw you didn't come to the bedroom," Willow said softly, feeling a bit awkward. She had gotten used to not sleeping alone at night and couldn't fall asleep.

"So our Willow can't sleep alone. Come on, let's go to sleep."

Mitchell emphasized the word "sleep" heavily, and Willow immediately understood it differently, quickly clarifying, "Just sleep!"

"I meant just sleep. What did you think I meant?" Mitchell teased her with a smirk.

Willow's face instantly turned red, and she playfully hit his chest with her small fist. "Stop laughing."

Mitchell grabbed her small hand, trying to suppress his laughter, but his shaking shoulders clearly showed how hard it was for him to hold it in. Willow pouted and tried to pull her hand away, attempting to climb out of his embrace. Mitchell scooped her up in a princess carry, standing up from the sofa and heading towards the bedroom.

Willow exclaimed, "Put me down first!"

Mitchell paused for a moment, looking at her with a smile. "Didn't we say we were going to sleep?" Then he continued carrying her to the bedroom.

Once inside, he carefully placed her on the bed and reached out to turn off the main light, leaving only a warm yellow bedside lamp that cast a cozy glow on their faces.

Mitchell looked at the slightly nervous Willow on the bed and, as if on purpose, suddenly leaned in and kissed her cheek.

Willow closed her eyes nervously, her eyelashes trembling slightly. She was really tired last night and was feeling a bit overwhelmed today.

Mitchell chuckled and whispered in her ear, "Goodnight, honey." Then he turned off the bedside lamp and lay down beside her.

Willow's heart was pounding; Mitchell was definitely doing this on purpose... deliberately teasing her...

Maybe it was because Mitchell was lying next to her, and the scent of their shared body wash filled the air. Willow, who wasn't sleepy at all before, fell asleep shortly after Mitchell lay down.

In the darkness, Mitchell listened to Willow's even breathing beside him and couldn't help but smile, whispering, "Silly girl."

He stayed up all night before and didn't nap during the day. He pondered, 'Does she really think I have that much energy?'

On Sunday morning, Mitchell took Willow to the Nelson Mansion early to fulfill their promise to the two little ones. Quentin and Hannah, seeing Willow, eagerly pulled her to the backyard to show off their practice results. They were both very enthusiastic about skateboarding and couldn't wait to practice even before breakfast. Hannah, encouraged by Quentin, bravely stepped on the skateboard and managed to skate a few meters. Mitchell followed Willow to the backyard to see the two little ones.

Shortly after they arrived, Patrick also came. As soon as he walked in, he shouted, "Quentin, Hannah, I'm here!"

Madison and Matthew heard the noise and came downstairs. Madison smiled and said, "Patrick's here. Willow and Mitchell just arrived and were pulled to the backyard by Quentin and Hannah. Hannah practiced with Quentin this morning and dared to skate."

"Great. It looks like Quentin's skills are better than mine," Patrick said with a cheerful laugh, "Matthew, Madison, I'm going to the backyard to check on them." With that, he headed to the backyard.

Matthew only had eyes for Madison now. Wherever Madison went, he followed. Sometimes Madison would tease him, saying, "You're even clingier than Hannah was when she was little."

Matthew didn't care what others said. In his mind, his wife was the most important in the world, and taking good care of her was his top priority. No matter what Madison said, he would just smile and continue doing what he was doing, staying close and affectionate, with no intention of changing.
