Chapter 357 The Wedding Date is Set

Madison was making breakfast when Matthew also got up. He came downstairs in his pajamas and went straight to the kitchen to find Madison, catching sight of her figure.

Matthew walked over, and wrapped his arms around her, chin resting on the top of Madison's head, his familiar scent enveloping her. While Madison's hands were busy making sushi, planning to bring some to the two little ones when they went to the Nelson Mansion later, she asked with a smile, "Why not sleep a little longer?"

Matthew gently held her in his arms, not letting go, and in a somewhat coquettish tone, he murmured, "I can't sleep without you." Madison smiled and kissed his cheek. Matthew then kissed her lips, purely expressing his innermost feelings of gratitude and warmth.

"Honey, what delicious food are you making?" Matthew inquired. With disposable gloves on her hands, Madison grabbed a piece of sushi and fed it to Matthew, saying, "Sushi, try it." Matthew took a bite and said, "Yummy, everything you make is delicious."

Madison smiled and asked him to go change clothes quickly so they could have breakfast and head to the Nelson Mansion later. Obediently, Matthew went upstairs to change. Madison finished packing the sushi into boxes and poured two glasses of milk for breakfast. When Matthew came back downstairs in his gray tracksuit, looking handsome and refined, he seemed more like a teenager from a comic book than a man in his thirties with two children.

Madison smiled as she looked at him. After all these years, he still shone as brightly as he did the first time she saw him, illuminating her entire life.

Matthew approached, placing the plates and milk on the table, "Thank you for making the breakfast, dear." Madison packed the sushi to take away, placed it on the table, and sat down with a smile. "No problem."

For someone who enjoyed cooking, receiving recognition and seeing others finish all the food was the greatest achievement.

After finishing breakfast, the two of them took the prepared sushi and set off for the Nelson Mansion. The two little ones hadn't seen their parents for two days and were very happy. Whenever they saw Madison, they would gather around her. Hannah reached out for a hug, but before Madison could bend down, Matthew lifted her up, saying, "Mommy can't hug you. How about Daddy hug you?"

Even when their daughter wanted a hug, he didn't want his wife to strain herself.

Madison brought out the sushi she had made, and Quentin and Hannah were thrilled. They had always loved their mother's sushi, so even though they had already had breakfast, they couldn't wait to start eating the sushi.

There was so much sushi that even WilTristan, Tristan, and Valerie tasted them. Valerie couldn't stop praising Madison for the sushi, and Matthew looked proudly at Madison as if he was saying, "My wife made this."

While the children were eating and playing in the living room, WilTristan called Madison and Matthew into the study.

Madison wasn't sure why WilTristan had summoned them so formally to the study. She turned to Matthew, asking, "Matthew, what does he want from us?"

Matthew smiled slightly and replied, "I don't know either. Let's go find out. We'll know soon enough."

With some doubts, she followed Matthew to the study. Inside, WilTristan sat kindly in a chair, waiting for them.

"Hi," they greeted him.

"Come, have a seat," WilTristan gestured for them to sit on the sofa.

With a warm smile, WilTristan walked over with a folded red paper in his hand and handed it to them.

Following Matthew's cue, Madison took the red paper from WilTristan, looking a bit puzzled, "What is this?"

WilTristan chuckled, his face creased with a smile. "Last time, Matthew mentioned wanting to have a wedding ceremony and asked me to pick a date. He also said he wanted to surprise you. Looks like the surprise is out now. I've chosen a date, take a look together and see if it suits you. Planning a wedding involves a lot of preparation, and you also need to discuss things with Madison's parents in advance."

After hearing WilTristan's explanation, Madison realized that the paper contained the wedding date. Touched, she looked at Matthew, who was also gazing at her with a smile in his eyes.

In each other's eyes, they saw the desire for a lifelong commitment.

WilTristan urged, "Madison, open it and see. If you feel the time is too tight, I can look for another date."

Under WilTristan's expectant gaze, Madison unfolded the neatly folded red paper, revealing the beautifully written wedding date and a detailed list of betrothal gifts. The extensive list of gifts left Madison speechless and wide-eyed.

The wedding date chosen by WilTristan was two months away, which seemed manageable in terms of time. Matthew had probably started preparing early, so time wasn't an issue. However, the list of betrothal gifts was extensive and expensive, including properties, cars, stocks, and many of WilTristan's collectibles, as well as almost all of Matthew's shares in JK Group. She couldn't accept these; she had never wanted his wealth when marrying Matthew, as she could earn her own money now and didn't need these things.

With a kind smile, WilTristan asked, "How about it, Madison? Is the time okay?"

Madison folded the paper back and replied with a smile, "I'm fine with the time."

"Good, Matthew, start preparing, and make sure to visit Emerald Isle City in person," WilTristan said cheerfully, bursting into laughter.

"Mr. Nelson," Madison hesitated.

"What's wrong? Madison, if you have any requests, just let me know. It's a once-in-a-lifetime wedding, so don't compromise," WilTristan said, treating Madison like his own granddaughter as if Matthew were the outsider. Matthew didn't mind and looked at his wife with indulgence, waiting for her to make a request.

"The betrothal gifts are really too much. Matthew and I are already married, so we don't need them," Madison said.

"We can't skip the proper etiquette; the betrothal gifts must be presented," WilTristan insisted.

Madison wanted to say more, but Matthew held her hand and said, "Honey, let's just go along with it. I feel at ease knowing the assets are with you; the heavier the burden, the less likely you are to run away."

Madison couldn't help but laugh at his reasoning. Shouldn't he be worried about her running away after transferring everything to her?
