Chapter 297 A Small Gathering

Madison couldn't believe her eyes; it was indeed Nicholas! Why was he here with Rachel, and he hadn't mentioned anything about coming to pick them up? Rachel quickly walked up to Madison, "Madison, Matthew is fine. We got stuck in traffic, so we're a bit late."

Nicholas followed behind her and greeted Matthew, "Matthew." Quentin and Hannah shouted, "Hello, Auntie!" and "Hello, Uncle Nicholas!" They were delighted to see both of them. Patrick was familiar with Nicholas, so the situation wasn't awkward with everyone together.

After the greetings, Madison's curious eyes couldn't help but keep darting between Rachel and Nicholas. She couldn't wait any longer and blurted out, "Rachel, Nicholas, you two..." Nicholas walked up to Rachel, his gaze firm, and gently held her hand, "Madison, Rachel and I are together." Rachel blushed; Nicholas's action made her a bit embarrassed. She wanted to free her hand, but Nicholas held it tightly, not letting go.

Madison's eyes widened in surprise; this was indeed a great and wonderful surprise. She was overjoyed. Both Nicholas and Rachel were very important to her. One was Matthew, who had taken care of her since childhood, and the other was her supportive sister during her most difficult times. The fact that they could be together made Madison genuinely happy.

"That's great! We must celebrate tonight," Madison said, almost jumping with joy.

Rachel asked cautiously, "Madison, you're not angry?"

"I'm too happy to be angry," Madison replied with a smile.

"I'm sorry, Madison, for not telling you right away," Rachel still felt a bit apologetic, but some things were just hard to put into words.

"Silly sister, there's nothing to apologize for. I'm really happy, excited, and surprised, but not even a bit angry," Madison said, hugging Rachel.

Matthew raised an eyebrow as he looked at them. He had actually noticed that Nicholas treated Rachel differently and guessed that something was going on between them, but he didn't expect things to progress so quickly. In his mind, he thought, "Nicholas is quite efficient. If only Mitchell were like this, their children would probably be three or four years old by now!"

At Madison's strong request, everyone decided to go to the villa together and have a Mexican meal in the evening. They happily walked toward the parking lot.

Back at the villa, Madison hadn't even unpacked her luggage when she asked Matthew to drive her to the grocery store. Matthew felt sorry for her; she hadn't rested since early in the morning. He went with Patrick, leaving Madison at home. Madison asked Patrick to call Liam and Daniel and invite them for dinner. Liam and Daniel were both able to come, except for Ophelia, who was busy with filming. Everyone was looking forward to the Mexican meal in the evening.

Matthew and the others went out to buy groceries, and the two little ones went with them. Only Madison, Rachel, and Nicholas were left in the villa. Madison took Rachel upstairs to organize their luggage, and her curious heart couldn't help but want to find out how they got together.

Madison took out the clothes from the suitcase in the upstairs room while smiling and staring at Rachel. Rachel felt a bit embarrassed being stared at like that. "Madison, please stop looking at me like that," Madison stopped her hands and sat down next to Rachel.

"I can't help but be happy. Tell me, what happened? How did you two get together? Who pursued whom? I think it must have been Nicholas." Madison asked a long string of questions. She guessed that Nicholas took the initiative. Although Rachel appeared to be a strong woman on the surface, she was actually a little girl at heart, very pure. She had been busy with her career for so many years and had never met the right person. Now that she was with Nicholas, Auntie Ximena was also relieved.

Rachel blushed and nodded slightly, tacitly admitting that Nicholas had taken the initiative.

Madison clapped her hands, "I knew it."

Seeing Rachel's extreme shyness, Madison didn't intend to continue asking for details about how they got together. As long as she was happy for them, that was enough. She put away her gossipy expression and sincerely said to Rachel, "Rachel, I'm really happy. You must be happy."

Rachel hugged Madison, "Thank you, Madison."

The two embraced each other until Nicholas knocked at the door, interrupting the sisters' warm moment.

"Nicholas," Madison turned her head, stood up, and teased, "You couldn't wait, huh? You've been waiting for Rachel to come downstairs."

Nicholas coughed lightly, a little embarrassed, and then said, "There are guests downstairs."

"Is it Daniel or Liam?" Madison guessed who had arrived so early.

"It's Liam," Nicholas had met Liam at the resort before.

"Liam probably left the company as soon as he got the call," Madison said with a smile, then turned to Nicholas and said, "Nicholas, I'm counting on you to take care of Rachel. I'm on her side."

Rachel held Madison's arm, looking shy. Nicholas replied seriously, "I won't mistreat her."

The three of them then went downstairs, chatting and laughing. Downstairs, Liam was sitting on the sofa in the living room, casually watching TV. When he saw Madison and the others come downstairs, he stood up and greeted them.

At that moment, the sound of a car outside was followed by the voices of Quentin and Hannah. Matthew and the others had returned from grocery shopping. Since they had a simple lunch outside, they decided to have an early dinner. Madison went into the kitchen to prepare, and Rachel helped. The men also volunteered to help with the cooking and preparation.

The large kitchen was filled with people, leaving Madison and Rachel with nothing to do but wait for them to finish. Before dinner, Daniel arrived on time, and they had a small gathering. It was during the meal that Daniel learned that his brother hadn't returned with Willow. He was so surprised that the meatball he had just picked up fell back into the pot.
