Chapter 468 The Honeymoon is a Bit Sweet
Mitchell curved his lips into a smile and looked at her. He said, "It's okay, it's not too late now. Is it ready?"
Willow nodded in agreement. She said, "Yeah, come back tomorrow to pick up the finished product. It still needs to soak for a few hours."
As she spoke, she quickly pulled Mitchell along. She had had two pancakes before leaving and didn't feel hungry, but Mitchell had only taken a small bite and had a light meal on the plane at noon. By now, he must be hungry. Willow hurriedly led him back to the bed and breakfast, wondering if there would still be dinner available since it was past mealtime.
Seeing her rush, Mitchell thought something was wrong and quickly grabbed her, asking anxiously, "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
Willow didn't stop walking and said, "Honey, you must be hungry. I didn't expect it to take this long, and you haven't eaten much today."
Mitchell was momentarily stunned and felt a warm sensation in his heart. He actually didn't feel hungry, probably because the journey had been a bit tiring and he didn't have much of an appetite. After arriving, they walked around slowly, not expending much energy, so he didn't feel hungry.
He stopped, pulled her into his arms, and said softly, "I'm not hungry, don't rush."
Then, he let go of her, held her hand, and walked back slowly.
Willow turned her head to look at him, tilting her head and asked, "Aren't you really hungry?"
Mitchell smiled and nodded lightly. He reassured her, "Really."
When they returned to the bed and breakfast, there was indeed no food left. The other guests had pre-ordered dinner, and they hadn't told the owner they would be back for dinner before they left, so the owner hadn't saved any for them. However, there was still some rice left, and the owner offered to make a simple meal for them.
Willow and Mitchell weren't picky and smiled, nodding in agreement.
The owner quickly went to the kitchen to prepare. In just over ten minutes, they were served a delicious-looking meal, along with some side dishes.
Willow had a bite first; it was tangy and spicy, very appetizing. She smiled and gave Mitchell a small piece.
Mitchell slowly put it in his mouth and chewed; the taste was refreshing, but a bit too spicy, so he quickly took a big bite of the main dish, making Willow laugh.
Even though they had grown up eating similar foods, Mitchell and Matthew were the worst at handling spicy food. They had never tried Mexican food or spicy snacks before, and their home-cooked meals rarely included chili, so they never had the chance to build up a tolerance for spicy food.
Despite saying he wasn't hungry earlier, Mitchell quickly finished the meal.
The owner, smiling, said there was more, and Mitchell didn't hesitate to thank the owner and hand over the empty plate. Actually, they had all been sent to a training camp for two months before college, as their elders were in the military, and they weren't pampered rich kids.
After finishing dinner, they returned to their room. During dinner, the owner had introduced two nearby attractions, and they planned to visit them the next day. The pace of life here was slow, and Willow felt it was perfect for relaxing and daydreaming.
The bed and breakfast was nicely decorated, with clean, bright rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, a small balcony, and a bathtub.
Willow went to take a shower first, as she had gotten some dye on her clothes and arms while doing batik. After her shower, Mitchell took his pajamas and went to the bathroom.
She walked to the small balcony, where the lights outside looked like a sky full of stars. It was a bit chilly outside, so she went back inside after a while, closed the balcony door, and drew the curtains. The room was comfortably warm with the floor heating, not too dry.
Willow turned on the TV and found an outdoor variety show that had just started. To her surprise, Ophelia was a regular guest on the show, so she decided to watch it.
She also took out her phone and sent a message in the group chat.
Willow: [Ophelia, I saw your new show.]
Ophelia was on set filming and hadn't replied, as she had a night shoot. When Willow posted on Facebook, Ophelia was on a break and immediately replied.
Ophelia: [Today's the premiere. Thanks for the support, Willow. Let me know if you need an autograph.]
Daniel joined in the conversation, looking like she had some free time too.
Daniel: [I'm exhausted, just got home.]
Willow sent a hug emoji and followed up with another message.
Willow: [I'll bring you guys some goodies. I did some batik today and can pick up the finished product tomorrow. I dyed enough to make a few clothes, so I'll bring one to each of you.]
Ophelia: [How's Frostpine? I haven't been there yet.]
Daniel: [I haven't been either. Let's skip work and go together, Ophelia.]
Ophelia: [I can't. I have a movie and a show just starting.]
Daniel: [I'm just saying. We're all busy. Let Willow have fun for us. I can't believe Mitchell took a honeymoon leave. Never thought he was that kind of person.]
Willow: [Sure, I don't mind at all.]
The three chatted for a while. Ophelia had to go back to filming, and Daniel said she was going to take a shower, so they ended the conversation. Mitchell came out of the bathroom with his hair dry, and Willow looked up and smiled at him.
Willow remarked, "Ophelia's show is so funny."
Mitchell lifted the blanket from the other side of the bed, smiling, and said softly, "Really?"
Willow nodded vigorously.
As Mitchell got into bed, she automatically snuggled up to him, holding his arm. She tended to have cold hands and feet in winter, and it took her a long time to warm up in bed alone.
However, Mitchell was hot, making her very comfortable to cuddle up to him.
He had gotten used to grabbing her feet and warming them up as soon as he got into bed, willingly helping her to be warm.
