Chapter 415 Caught Daydreaming in a Meeting

That night, Willow was taken by Mitchell to have steak at a very upscale restaurant in a star-rated hotel. She remembered that the place was filled with couples on dates. The dim lighting, candles, and fresh flowers created a romantic atmosphere. It was her first time dining in such a romantic setting with Mitchell, so even though it had been several years, the memory was still vivid. She even clearly remembered how her hands trembled with nervousness while cutting the steak.

After they returned, Mitchell sat in front of her computer and took only ten minutes to revise her graduation project. She knew Mitchell was very skilled, but watching him click the mouse and switch between tasks so quickly still amazed her. Only those who truly studied architecture would understand how difficult it was.

As Mitchell revised, he explained his thought process to her. Later, when Willow submitted the project to her advisor, she was called into the office to explain her ideas. She repeated what Mitchell had told her. She still remembered the approving look from her advisor as she left the office, which made her feel a bit guilty.

Willow glanced at Mitchell, who was holding her hand tightly and standing beside her, and smiled slightly—those days of chasing after him had also driven her to keep improving. Over the years, she had become more excellent herself in order to keep up with Mitchell.

Mitchell turned his head to look at her, seeing her bright eyes and smiling face. "What are you thinking about? You look so happy."

Willow grinned. "Nothing."

She certainly wouldn't tell Mitchell that she was thinking about those past events.

Mitchell held her hand, gently stroking her palm with his index finger. The two of them looked at each other, smiling without speaking, yet they could feel each other's thoughts.

The two of them, along with Patrick, stayed at Nelson Mansion for the entire day and only left after dinner. Although the two little ones were reluctant to part, they understood that Willow and Mitchell had to go to work and they had to go to school, so they didn't cling to them this time.

Madison told them to come over more often when they had time, as more people made the place lively. William also liked the vibrant atmosphere, and having a table full of people for meals made him very happy.

On Monday morning at work, Willow received a message in their dorm's Facebook group chat, which was a wedding invitation from one of her roommates. Everyone in the group chat immediately was excited. The four of them started chatting in the group.

The four of them in the dorm were not all from the same major, but they got along quite well. One of them, who was in the same major as Willow, was named Karen Martin. The other two were Lisa Moore, an English major, and Amanda Robinson, an advertising design major.

Karen, who was in the same major as Willow, was from City A. After graduation, she returned to City A and now worked as an elementary school teacher, which had nothing to do with construction.

Lisa, the English major, was from Horizon City. She was very beautiful and tall, like a model. After graduation, she went abroad to further her studies.

The last one, Amanda, who studied advertising design, was from City B. After graduation, she went to Emerald Isle City to join her boyfriend, who worked there. The two of them worked hard and finally bought a house in Emerald Isle City at the end of last year.

At the beginning of the year, Willow and the others already knew that Amanda and her boyfriend had registered their marriage, and they planned to hold the wedding after the house was renovated. Now, the wedding date had been set, and everyone was thrilled to hear the good news.

During their four years of college, it was quite rare to find roommates who got along harmoniously and shared similar interests. So even after graduation, despite being scattered in different places, they still chatted from time to time in their Facebook group. Willow remembered that when they graduated, they had agreed that no matter who got married, the other three would definitely attend the wedding. So this time, with Amanda getting married, they all planned to go to Emerald Isle City for the wedding. Even Lisa, who was overseas, said she was looking at flights back home as soon as she received the invitation. Everyone was looking forward to this reunion, and it was the first time the four of them had gathered since graduation.

When the four of them chatted, Willow glanced at Mitchell and he was sitting at the front of the conference room. Mitchell was focused and serious, listening to everyone's work reports. Willow's seat was towards the back on his left side, third from the last, quite a distance from Mitchell. Since it was Monday's project team meeting with many bigwigs present, she didn't have to sit in the front. Their group manager would be reporting, so she didn't need to speak, which gave her the perfect opportunity to chat on Facebook sneakily.

Willow took a quick look at Mitchell, then quietly opened the Facebook page on her laptop, minimizing it to a corner of the screen, and started chatting with her roommates. She could feel everyone's excitement and anticipation.

Lisa enviously said: [Amanda is the first to get married. We guessed it back then, but I didn't expect you to break the graduation breakup curse.]

Karen also sighed: [Yeah, from high school sweethearts to marriage, it's so touching I could cry.]

Willow quickly sent a message to the group: [Congratulations, Amanda. Rex James finally won you.]

Rex was Amanda's boyfriend. He had visited Amanda at A University a few times and had treated them to meals. Both Amanda and Rex were from suburban areas of City B. Their families' financial conditions were average. Amanda had a younger brother, so her family couldn't help much. Rex was an only child, and his family provided the down payment for their house in Emerald Isle City. The couple used their savings for renovations, appliances, and starting their married life. Both had good grades in high school; Rex got into Capital University and stayed in Emerald Isle City for work after graduation. Amanda joined him after she graduated, and now they had finally settled down in Emerald Isle City.

Amanda shared some of their wedding photos with the group, and the couple smiled sweetly and happily. She then sent a message in the group: [You three are my bridesmaids, so come early. Pick your dresses and send me your sizes.]

Amanda shared a few links, and the three of them finally decided on light purple bridesmaid dresses.

Karen replied in the group: [I'm just a few kilometers away. I can drive over in the morning and be there by noon. You should remind Willow and Lisa, one in Horizon City and the other overseas. You two need to book your tickets early.]

Amanda followed up, reminding Willow and Lisa: [You two, buy your tickets early. I'll be sad if you don't come.]

Lisa immediately replied: [Don't worry. I'm looking at flights now. I'll finalize my plans today.]

Willow quickly added: [I'll buy my ticket today, too. Don't worry.]

Amanda didn't forget to add: [Bring your boyfriends if you have them.]

Before Willow could see everyone's replies, she heard Mitchell's cool voice. "The meeting is over."

She picked up her laptop, ready to slip away, but then she heard Mitchell's voice again. "Willow, stay behind."

Willow stood frozen in place, holding her laptop.
