Chapter 112 So Nice

Chapter 112 So Nice
Together, they headed home just in time for dinner, and the head of the household couldn't help but chuckle upon seeing them walking hand in hand.

Hannah Garcia rushed over, tugging on her parents to show them the day's catch in the garden.
Originally crouching by the bucket, Quentin Garcia jumped up excitedly as he saw his parents approach, guided by his younger sister.
"Mom, Dad, you're back! Come see, we caught so many fish today!"
Madison was genuinely impressed with the sizable haul of fish, a good dozen in all sizes.
"You kids did amazing," she praised generously.
The family of four played with the fish they caught in Garden Lane, but it wasn't long before Valerie called them in for dinner.
At the table, Valerie served Madison and Matthew each a bowl of slow-cooked stew, insisting on its special preparation. Grandfather's eyes keenly observed them savoring the stew.
The silent message was clear: Drink up!
Madison eyed the dark, murky stew in front of her and the expectant look in Grandpa's eyes. Valerie was also nearby, seemingly just waiting for them to taste it. Though it seemed a bit odd, Madison didn't overthink it and finished the bowl in one go.
"That's pretty good! Thanks, Valerie." Madison set down the bowl, and although the soup looked unappealing, it tasted surprisingly good.
Seeing Madison drink hers, Matthew picked up his bowl and silently drank it all.
He suspected there was something up with the stew.
Quentin Garcia and Hannah Garcia clamored for stew, too, so Valerie served them two bowls of savory pork rib stew.
Ever since Madison brought the two little ones home, laughter was a frequent sound in the house, and it made Grandpa feel like he had added a few more years to his life.
The next day was Sunday, and they chose to spend the night at The Old Residence.
After dinner, Quentin Garcia and Hannah Garcia played chess with William. Madison bathed them before bedtime and then went to sleep herself. Returning to their room, Madison found Matthew half-reclining on the bed, shirtless, browsing his phone. Feeling warm, the sight of Matthew without a shirt made Madison even warmer, so she quickly grabbed pajamas and headed to the bathroom for a shower.
After showering and changing into her pajamas, Madison climbed into bed.
"Matthew, isn't the air conditioning on? Why does it feel so hot?" she asked.
Matthew also began to feel warmer. He connected the dots back to the stew they had for dinner. He shifted, setting down his phone and moving closer to Madison. Pressing himself against her back, his hot breath brushed against her ear before landing on her sensitive skin. "Honey, I'm burning up here, too."
Madison struggled to get up from his embrace. "I'm going to turn on the AC."
"It's already on, but I'm still so hot." Matthew didn't let go. He indeed had the air conditioning on and had even dimmed the lights. He had sensed something was off even before Madison came in. Grandpa really did go to great lengths.
His sweet, unsuspecting woman seemed unaware that the stew was to blame.
"Just let go for a second. It's really hot."
"But I'm on fire all over, honey."
Madison suddenly sensed the underlying danger in his voice, a realization that drained her of all strength. She found herself unable to resist as his arms enveloped her.
Soft, tender kisses cascaded down her back, prompting a barely audible sound of approval from Madison. Her mind swirled with a growing sense of desire.
She felt herself losing control.
Waking up to Matthew's mention of Valerie's stew that morning, Madison had anticipated its troublesome effects. It explained the intensity of their previous night.
Thinking about last night made her bury her face in the pillows, flushed with embarrassment.
They lingered at The Old Residence until the afternoon before heading back to their home in the newer part of town.
Matthew followed her upstairs with no plans of leaving.
After showering that night, Madison collapsed into bed, clutching the blankets tightly. She was too exhausted and sore to do anything else.
Matthew, fresh out of his shower, chuckled as he saw his little wife's defenses. "Honey, do you really think that's necessary?"
Madison cocooned herself tightly in her blanket, muttering, "Tonight, we each keep to our covers. Stay on your side or retreat to the villa."
Upon settling into bed, Matthew promptly discarded the separate blanket she had set out for him, preferring to share one with her. Drawing her near, he teased, "I'm not that much of a brute, am I? Just ensuring you're unscathed."
Madison quickly grabbed his wandering hand to stop him. "Don't look."
Aware of her shyness, he didn't push further, just holding her tenderly. "All right, let's sleep then."
In his arms, Madison felt a warmth at her back, akin to lying beside a furnace. She heard his steady breathing, but the uncomfortable pressure at her waist urged her to slightly twist away from his touch.
"Honey, if you keep wriggling like this, I can't promise I'll be able to keep my hands to myself tonight." The voice behind her warned playfully, pressing forward deliberately. Madison froze with fear and stayed motionless on the bed.
"I'll stop. I'll go to sleep right now."
A soft chuckle sounded above her head, followed by an undeniable presence at her back.
Madison secretly labeled him in her mind as incorrigible.
She woke up to find him gone, hearing Quentin and Hannah's voices outside, signaling it was time for school. Confused about not hearing her alarm, she hastily grabbed a jacket and headed out of the room.
She saw Matthew having breakfast with the children at the dining table.
"Mom, you're up," Quentin said kindly, "Dad mentioned he'd take us to daycare today so you could sleep in a little longer."
"Yeah, Dad even made us breakfast. Want to join us, Mom?" Hannah Garcia asked, her mouth half-full of a custard-filled croissant.
Madison gazed at the scene before her, lost in a moment of reverence. She had always been the one to rise early and prepare everything, never complaining or feeling burdened. But today, seeing the man at the table smiling at her, she suddenly realized how nice it felt to be cared for.
She approached him softly. "Why didn't my alarm go off? Why didn't you wake me?"
Matthew reached out, taking her hand and gently caressing her palm with his fingertip. "I turned off your alarm. I wanted you to get some extra sleep. I ordered breakfast from that place you liked. The one you said had that amazing flavor last time. I left something for you in the kitchen; after you freshen up, you can grab it. I took the twins to school already."
He then prompted the kids to fasten their backpacks and get moving.
Madison simply nodded, still somewhat dazed, as Matthew gently guided her toward the bathroom to prepare for the day.
It wasn't until the door closed that she snapped back to reality. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she broke into a silly grin.
