Chapter 458 The Lively Wedding Banquet
The most surprising and delightful part of the entire wedding ceremony was after the vows were exchanged.
Several groomsmen suddenly rushed onto the stage and joined the groom in a dance, performing an incredibly cool street dance that looked just like a professional performance. It was expected that Joseph could dance, but the others were doing it for the first time, leaving everyone wide-eyed in astonishment.
Willow, standing at the edge of the stage, was also extremely surprised. Mitchell's dancing was so captivating, even more so than his singing.
This dance instantly pushed the wedding atmosphere to its peak, and everyone had a great time.
Finally, it was time for the bride to throw the bouquet.
All the unmarried girls gathered to catch it, including the bridesmaids.
Daniel pulled Ophelia to the front row.
Ophelia didn't want to go, saying, "Let's not go to the front. You're not even dating anyone. Do you think catching the bouquet will make a boyfriend fall from the sky?"
Daniel just kept pulling her forward, laughing. She rebutted, "You never know, maybe a boyfriend will fall from the sky. If I catch the bouquet, it must be a sign from above that my true love is coming."
Willow stood on the stage, raised the bouquet with both hands, and threw it backward.
The bouquet landed precisely on Ophelia's chest. She instinctively reached out to catch it, stunned that she was the one who caught it.
Liam, standing not far from her, smiled as he watched her catch the bouquet.
When Ophelia looked up and saw him smiling, she awkwardly shoved the bouquet into Daniel's arms.
"Here, your true love is coming soon," she said quickly.
Daniel handed it back to her, saying, "Whoever catches the bouquet keeps it. There's no giving it away."
Daniel glanced at Liam and then back at Ophelia with a smile. She teased, "Everyone saw you catch it. It looks like someone is about to have some good news."
Ophelia blushed and said nothing more.
Willow went to change clothes, and the groomsmen and bridesmaids began to invite guests to dine, officially starting the lively wedding banquet.
The wedding ceremony had already set a high-spirited tone, and everyone was very happy and excited. As the banquet began, the groomsmen and bridesmaids started a drinking contest.
With Daniel, who loves excitement, and Willow's two cheerful classmates, everyone mingled well. Joseph was very humorous, and with Patrick, who usually led the cheers, even the usually serious Victor was smiling tonight.
When they got together, it was pure indulgence.
Daniel directly faced off with Cheryl in a drinking contest.
When Willow and Mitchell came out after changing clothes, they saw the two in the middle of a drinking contest, surrounded by a cheering crowd, with half a bottle of wine already gone.
Willow wore a bright red evening gown, showcasing her curvaceous figure. Her hair was pinned up with a hairpin, giving her a beautiful and elegant look, completely different from her bridal look. If she looked like a fairy in her wedding dress, she now looked poetically beautiful in her evening gown.
Daniel, who could hold her liquor well, had a few glasses of wine with Cheryl and was only slightly flushed, not drunk.
Ophelia, who usually didn't drink much, had to drink a bit more tonight. She could only handle two glasses of wine and was already tipsy when Willow and Mitchell came over to toast.
Willow's gown drew compliments from Karen and Lisa, who couldn't help but praise her. Lisa could drink quite a bit and remained composed, while Karen, knowing her limits, didn't drink much and stayed sober.
The bride and groom went from table to table toasting, but Ophelia and Liam didn't follow.
Ophelia was clearly drunk, something that rarely happened unless she was with Daniel and the others.
Liam stayed by her side, watching over her.
The groom's side didn't hold back, and Mitchell, who could usually drink a lot, had a flushed face after making the rounds. If it weren't for the supportive bridesmaids and groomsmen, he would have been drunk long ago.
The banquet ended late. After the toasts, Willow and Mitchell sat with Liam and the others, continuing to drink. Most of the guests had left, and those from out of town had gone up to their hotel rooms. After they made arrangements for their relatives and friends, the parents also left, leaving the venue to the young people.
Matthew took Madison, Quentin and Hannah upstairs to rest as the banquet was winding down. The family planned to stay the night.
William had left early after the banquet, but Matthew, being Willow's brother, couldn't leave early.
After settling his wife and kids, making sure the little ones were washed and in bed, he said, "Honey, I'll go check if they're almost done and come back soon."
He had drunk quite a bit and sounded like a grown-up Quentin.
"It's okay, everyone is happy tonight. It's not often like this. Have fun, I'll put Quentin and Hannah to bed," Madison said, sitting on the bed and smiling at him.
She knew Matthew was worried about her and reassured him, "I'll take a quick shower and go to bed. Quentin and Hannah are well-behaved and won't kick me."
"How about I help you shower before I go down?" Matthew said, looking at Madison reluctantly.
"Daddy, don't worry, Hannah won't bother Mommy," Hannah said from the other bed, where she and Quentin were sleeping side by side.
The kids were restless sleepers, so they had asked for two big beds.
"Daddy, don't worry, I'll keep the blanket on her," Quentin added sensibly.
"Alright, I'm going down now," Matthew said reluctantly, looking back several times.
Madison, unable to take it anymore, said, "Go on, we're turning off the lights to sleep."
Only then did he open the door and leave.
