Chapter 344 Encountering a Proposal Ceremony
Matthew drove, and the two headed towards the movie theater. On the way, Madison frequently turned to look at Matthew, smiling sweetly, unable to hide her happiness.
Feeling her gaze, Matthew also smiled and turned to her when they stopped at a red light, asking, "What's up?"
Madison smiled and shook her head. "Nothing." For some reason, she just felt that Matthew was exceptionally handsome tonight as if she couldn't get enough of looking at him.
It seemed like it had been a long time since the two of them had gone out to watch a movie together, so they were quite looking forward to it.
She didn't even ask what movie they were going to watch or what time the movie started. Seeing him dressed up so nicely, she thought he was going to a social event. When he invited her to watch a movie and even prepared a dress, from the moment she took the dress until now, she had been feeling light and immersed in the surprises he brought her.
Matthew parked the car in the underground parking lot of the mall. After parking, he held Madison's hand and took the elevator to the top floor of the mall where the cinema was located.
As soon as they stepped out of the elevator, a young girl holding a rose approached them with a smile, saying, "Hello, our friend is proposing over here today. We have prepared a rose for all the ladies who came to watch the movie. This one is for you. Could you help write a blessing card?"
Madison was visibly excited. She hadn't expected to encounter such a beautiful event. Today must be a good day. She turned to look at Matthew with a smile on her face, and Matthew was also smiling at her. She immediately nodded in agreement to the young girl's request. "Sure, no problem."
After receiving the rose, she also took the small card and pen handed to her by the young girl, and then carefully wrote down words of blessing on the card. [I hope you have a joyful and fun time together in the future.]
Her simple words seemed to be her expectation for her marriage. She felt that no matter how passionate and romantic a marriage was, in the end, it was about two people sitting at a table eating many meals together without getting tired of each other.
Madison's graceful handwriting fell on the card, and she drew a cute smiley face as a signature. After finishing, she handed the card to the young girl in front of her, saying, "Thank you for your friend's rose."
The young girl happily took the card and said goodbye to them.
Madison held the rose, feeling even happier, thinking about where the proposal might be taking place. Matthew held her hand, his palm slightly sweaty, seeming a bit nervous.
Madison was excited herself tonight and hadn't noticed his unease. As they entered the cinema, she belatedly asked, "Matthew, what movie are we watching? Did you buy the tickets?"
Matthew calmly led Madison inside, pointing to a poster in the cinema and saying, "We're watching this. I'll go get the tickets."
Seeing that it was a recently released domestic science fiction movie with good reviews, Madison nodded and replied with a smile, "Okay."
Watching Matthew walk towards the ticket counter, she bent her eyes. She could watch any movie as long as it was a new one she hadn't watched before, all with a sense of anticipation. After a while, she sat down on a chair nearby, patiently waiting for Matthew as there seemed to be a malfunction at the ticket counter, causing a long queue.
After sitting for a while, she encountered the young girl who had given her the rose and asked her to write a card. The young girl greeted her, "Hello, what a coincidence. Hasn't your movie started yet?"
Madison looked up and saw her, smiling in response. "Not yet, my husband is getting the tickets." She then added, "Has your friend's proposal ceremony started?"
The young girl blinked mischievously. "It's about to start. Do you want to go see it?"
"Can I?" Madison asked somewhat uncertainly. She did want to take a look, as she seemed to be very enthusiastic about such beautiful events, witnessing others' moments of happiness was also a happy thing.
"Of course you can." The young girl pulled her arm without hesitation, ready to go.
Madison hurriedly stopped, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the enthusiastic young girl. "I can't go now. My husband is still getting the tickets." She looked towards the ticket counter where Matthew was still in line.
Following her gaze, the young girl teased with a smile. "Miss, your husband is really handsome, even better looking than a movie star."
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Madison lowered her head but still agreed. "I think so too."
The young girl chuckled, "I'm sure you're very happy with your marriage. Why don't you send him a text on Facebook, and we'll go take a look? There are so many people in line now, and it'll probably take some time. You can come with me to take a look and then you can come back in time for the movie."
Madison was a bit tempted. She glanced in Matthew's direction and then called him directly. He answered her call quickly.
"Matthew, I met the young girl who gave me the rose just now. She's going to a friend's proposal," Madison explained right away, afraid he might forget.
Turning around from the line, Matthew and Madison held their phones, looking at each other through the crowd, both with sweet smiles on their faces.
Matthew's deep and pleasant voice came through the phone. "Okay, I know."
Looking at Matthew, who was several tens of feet away, Madison softly said, "She invited me to her friend's proposal ceremony. What time is our movie?’ She felt a bit embarrassed, still enjoying joining in on the excitement even at her age.
"Go ahead. The movie will only start in a while. I'll call you later." Matthew continued to pamper her as always, responding with a simple “okay” to whatever she said.
"Then call me when you've got the tickets. I'll come out to find you right away," Madison said.
"Okay," Matthew replied simply.
Madison hesitated to hang up, still looking at him. After a moment, she said, "How long will it take on your end? Otherwise, we can go together."
"It'll be a while. You go ahead. I'll call you later." Matthew comforted her, letting her go on her own.
"Okay." Reluctantly hanging up the phone, Madison's eyes kept looking in Matthew's direction, taking a few steps and then thinking, ‘Forget it. I won't go.’
However, the enthusiastic young girl waiting beside her didn't give her a chance, and with a big smile, the young girl pulled her inside.
