Chapter 237 You Kissed My Brother

Matthew is half lying on the bed, his gaze somewhat blurred due to the alcohol. He hadn't expected that they would both end up in bed. While his wife worried about her cousin's lifelong affair, he said, "I don't know if they have any potential, but you can pay attention to Rachel and Nicholas." Matthew brought her closer and began to get a bit touchy. Based on his intuition and observation, there must be something going on between Nicholas and Rachel. When a man feels possessive toward a woman, isn't that a sign of love?

Madison's cheeks had a glossy and radiant complexion, and her eyes were alluring. The scent of fruit wine could even be smelled as she spoke, making her plump lips even more tempting after drinking. Seeing her in such a state, Matthew became restless. His hands began to undo her clothes. Madison was still unaware that she was about to become the prey. She widened her eyes in astonishment when she heard Matthew mention Rachel and Nicholas. "Rachel and Nicholas? That's impossible. I haven't noticed anything unusual between them."

Madison tilted her head, still pondering, her head feeling dizzy. She couldn't make sense of it. Suddenly, Matthew turned her over, pressing her down beneath him. She only then noticed that her pajama buttons were all undone. Matthew, uncommonly showing a sense of aggression, had the moonlight falling on his tall nose and his handsome face defined by light and shadow. Their breaths were intermingled with the scent of alcohol, and their breathing intertwined, intoxicating them. He emanated a unique and refreshing aroma. "Don't think about others. Tonight, you are mine," Matthew declared dominantly, lowering his head to kiss her, repeatedly making contact tenderly. The warm breath, soft touch, and faint taste of alcohol permeated between the two of them. Madison had already lost herself in such a kiss, forgetting about her role as a matchmaker and struggling to think about Rachel and Nicholas.

Nicholas and Rachel returned to the attic together, with their rooms facing each other. At the staircase landing, Rachel said goodnight to Nicholas and turned the doorknob to go back to her room. In a desperate moment, Nicholas grabbed her arm. "Rachel..."

"What's wrong?" Rachel looked at Nicholas's slightly bloodshot eyes, suddenly feeling nervous.

"When did you tell Madison?" Nicholas asked Rachel grievously, his eyes turning red from the alcohol, making Rachel appear as an irresponsible woman who deceived his feelings.

Rachel tried to free herself from his grasp, but Nicholas held on tightly, afraid that she would run away, so she struggled for a while without success. She nervously pretended not to know and asked, "What should I say to Madison?"

Nicholas pursed his lips, his eyes fixed on Rachel, who couldn't bring herself to meet his gaze.

"So you don't want to take responsibility, do you?" the sullen male voice carried a tone of grievance.

Rachel suddenly looked up and quickly covered Nicholas's mouth, whispering, "Lower your voice." What ambiguous words this person was saying; it was late at night, and the silence made even the slightest sound seem very loud. Rachel was afraid of waking others up. Then she realized that she was hanging onto Nicholas and quickly backed away. "What responsibility? It's not just my problem."

"I am willing to take responsibility," Nicholas immediately offered, not waiting for Rachel to finish. "Let's go back to your hometown together tomorrow to pay a visit to your aunt."

Rachel blushed and even showed a bit of girlish shyness. "Who said I would take you home?"

"Then who do you want to take? Hank?" Nicholas's straight male logic was questioned.

"What does it have to do with Matthew? I'm not telling you anymore. I'm going to sleep." Rachel took advantage of Nicholas's distraction, quickly opened the bedroom door, and rushed in, closing the door behind her. Leaning against the door, she slowly sat down, one hand covering her heart, which was about to burst out, and the other hand covering her mouth, unable to calm down for a long time.

Nicholas looked at the closed door in front of him, feeling a slight sense of loss and grievance. He wondered when he would have a significant other in his life.

After Daniel returned to his room, he saw that Willow had indeed kicked off the blanket with a pair of long legs exposed. Daniel walked over and covered her with the blanket again. The air conditioner was on in the room, and not covering the blanket would make her catch a cold easily. Daniel was only one year older than Willow, but he was much more mature and independent, probably due to his long time in the entertainment industry and having seen many people. So whenever the two went out together, she always took care of Willow. At first, it was his brother who would always remind her to take care of Willow whenever they went out together, but later, it became a habit. Willow often felt fortunate to have met Daniel.

Although they did not have passionate love in their youth, fate gave them long-lasting friendship. They experienced dusk and seasons together, crossed mountains, and watched sunsets and stars together.
The following day, Willow woke up thirsty and groggily got up to find some bottled water. She accidentally bumped into the suitcase and made a loud noise, waking up Daniel.

Daniel was lying in bed with his eyes half-open. In a hoarse voice due to not being fully awake, he asked, "Willow, what's wrong?"

Willow was completely awake after the bump. Though she was not in much pain, the loud noise scared her. She hadn't noticed the things on the floor in her sleepiness, which led to accidentally hitting the suitcase. "It's nothing. I just accidentally bumped into the suitcase. I'm a little thirsty, so I got up to drink some water." Daniel sat up and rubbed his eyes. "Give me a bottle too. I'm thirsty." Willow handed her a bottle and opened one for herself to drink.

Daniel took a big sip, closed the lid, and became fully awake. He couldn't help but ask Willow about what happened last night. "Willow, do you remember what happened last night?"

Willow drank her water slowly and shook her head in confusion. She casually said, "What happened? Did I drool in my sleep?" She was usually sleeping when she drank too much and never did anything out of the ordinary. She trusted herself, so Daniel must have brought her back to sleep last night.

Daniel had a conflicted expression and shockingly said, "You forcefully kissed my brother last night!"

Water that Willow had just drank sprayed out of her mouth. She coughed, and her face turned red. Daniel hurriedly patted her back. "Take it slow. No one's trying to take it away from you."
