Chapter 417 Monday Morning

She had just posted on Facebook, and the other three in the group immediately became active again. Amanda was the first to send messages.

Amanda: [Willow, wow, you're secretly dating someone.]

Karen: [We agreed to be single together, but you secretly got a boyfriend.]

Lisa: [I'm more curious about who the male lead is. I remember Willow had a crush in college. I saw her write a little pink note, but I'm not sure if she sent it.]

Amanda: [Willow, tell us how you met.]

Willow looked at everyone's comments and smiled. She thought, 'If they know my boyfriend is Mitchell, they would definitely scream, especially Karen, who admired Mitchell during school.'

Willow: [You'll find out soon enough.]

Lisa: [Is it someone we know? Are you planning to surprise us?]

Karen: [The only people we know are our college classmates. Have you seen Willow get close to anyone?]

Lisa: [Didn't our class president confess to Willow? Don't you remember?]

Amanda: [I remember, but Willow rejected him at the time. I think it's definitely not someone from our class, maybe from another major.]

Willow: [No, it's none of them. You'll see soon enough.]

Lisa: [Now I'm even more excited to come back. I didn't expect Willow to have such a big surprise.]

Karen: [Looks like Willow will be the second one to get married.]

Amanda: [You two better step up your game.]

They chatted for a while longer before dispersing. Willow was smiling foolishly at her computer, and Elizabeth noticed.

Elizabeth gently patted her shoulder. "What are you doing? You were daydreaming during the meeting, and now you're smiling to yourself. I've been calling you for ages, and you didn't respond."

Willow was startled, patted her chest, and said, "You scared me to death."

"What sneaky thing are you up to? Did Mitchell give you a private lesson?" Elizabeth teased with a mischievous smile.

Willow pretended to glare at Elizabeth and said softly, "No."

"No." Elizabeth mimicked her in a nasal tone.

Willow's soft and sweet voice was always pleasant to hear, gentle and cute. Mitchell probably couldn't bear to scold her.

Willow stood up and lightly pinched Elizabeth, and the two girls started playfully fighting. Luckily, it was lunchtime, and everyone had gone out to eat, so the office was empty.

"Alright, I won't mimic you anymore. Aren't you going to eat?" Elizabeth asked, stopping her laughter.

Willow realized it was already lunchtime. She hadn't done any work all morning.

"I ordered takeout. Aren't you going to have lunch with Mr. Jonah?" Elizabeth asked.

Before Willow could answer, Mitchell's call came in. Elizabeth saw her pick up the phone and mouthed that she was going to eat, then went to the break room with her takeout.

Willow held the phone to her ear, hearing Mitchell's familiar voice, low and warm, magnetic and pleasant.

"Willow, come up for lunch," Mitchell said.

"Okay, Mitchell, I'll be right there."

Now, the two of them had lunch together every day. Sometimes, they ordered takeout, and sometimes, Mitchell took her out to eat. She didn't have to worry about it; Mitchell always called her when it was time. Initially, she thought it wasn't appropriate to do this at the office and preferred to eat alone and then go home together after work. But Mitchell always found various reasons to have lunch with her. Eventually, she stopped resisting and obediently waited to be called. People at the company have gotten used to her status. Sometimes, the secretary who ordered takeout for Mitchell would even privately ask her if she liked the food, which made her feel very embarrassed.

When Willow climbed the stairs to the sixteenth floor and arrived at Mitchell's office, he had already laid out the food on the table. Seeing her enter, he looked up and smiled. "Come over and eat."

Willow walked over, saw all her favorite dishes on the table, and happily sat down. She took the utensils Mitchell handed her and started eating with big bites; her cheeks puffed out adorably.

Mitchell sat across from her, looking at her indulgently, and softly said, "Eat slowly." Then he handed her a bowl of soup. "Have some soup first."

Willow nodded while chewing. "Okay." She then lifted the bowl and took a big sip of the soup. She thought it was delicious.

After eating for a while, Willow looked up and sneaked a glance at Mitchell, thinking about mentioning the trip to Emerald Isle City.

Before she could speak, Mitchell said, "I've booked your ticket to Emerald Isle City. It's an 8:30 AM flight. Is that too early?"

Mitchell knew she liked to sleep in and was worried she wouldn't wake up in time.

"It's not too early." Willow quickly shook her head.

She thought, 'An 8:30 flight would get me to Emerald Isle City around 11, which is perfect timing.'

Hearing her response, Mitchell raised an eyebrow and said, "Alright, then I won't change the time. I've also booked a hotel room for you. Let me know if you don't need it."

Willow was anxious, thinking about the possibility of them not being on the same flight. She was about to ask Mitchell if he had time those days.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. Mitchell's assistant walked in and said the guest had arrived early and was waiting in the conference room.

The assistant stood at the door, feeling a bit awkward and thinking, 'Sorry for the interruption.'

Willow also felt a bit embarrassed and could only smile foolishly.

The assistant, seeing Willow's gentle smile, thought, 'At least Willow is very kind.'

Mitchell stood up, washed his hands, and tidied up a bit before following the assistant to the conference room. This meeting was quite important.

Before leaving, he reminded Willow, "Finish the soup and eat more. If you're sleepy, take a nap."

Only after these reminders did he leave.

The assistant, following behind him, couldn't help but marvel at how Mitchell put all his meticulousness from work into his relationship.

After Mitchell left, Willow sighed softly, deciding to talk to him after work. Unexpectedly, Mitchell was particularly busy that Monday. After work, he had to accompany a client to dinner. He sent Willow a Facebook message telling her to go home and eat dinner first. Willow sighed again upon receiving the message, deciding to talk to him when he got home that night.

Willow went to have baked macaroni by herself before heading home. It wasn't until after 10 PM that Mitchell finished his social engagement and came home. She was sitting on the couch in the living room, watching a variety show and waiting for Mitchell.

Hearing the knock on the door, she quickly put on her slippers and ran to open it. When she opened the door, she saw Mitchell leaning against the wall with one hand.

Seeing her open the door, he grinned and, in a hoarse voice, said, "Honey, I'm home."
