Chapter 291 Drinking by the Seaside
Madison was a bit worried, "Is this really okay?" Although she felt that it might not be right to let Mitchell have his way so easily, after all, she had seen how Willow got drunk for him, and she felt that Willow should enjoy the feeling of being pursued for a while.
"It's fine," the cunning Matthew didn't see anything wrong with it. "We've given him the opportunity. Whether he can make the most of it is up to him. I've even covered their expenses. Isn't that enough?"
Madison got up with a smile, "All right, I'll go with your plan." Since the couple was on the same page, they wouldn't let Mitchell off too easily.
In the evening, they all went to a seaside barbecue restaurant, not far from the hotel where they were staying. They changed into comfortable clothes and simply wore slippers. The buffet restaurant by the sea, with the sea breeze blowing gently, instantly added a sense of ceremony to their lives.
The two little ones had been here for several days and were familiar with the surroundings. They ran ahead, and Willow was as happy as a child. The last time she came to the beach was when she had just graduated and came with Daniel, but they went to another island, which was smaller than this one.
This island that Madison and the others chose was also her first time here. She was excited as she looked at the beach, the sea, and the sunset. She ran barefoot on the soft sand with the two little ones...
A sumptuous and diverse buffet dinner, a dream come true, and a barbecue with beer, as if completing an exciting dream. When they arrived, many people were already sitting at the tables, grilling. Most of them were young people or families, drinking beer, eating seafood and barbecue, enjoying this pleasant evening.
Madison had seen many people eating barbecue and drinking beer by the sea before, so she called and reserved a table at noon. When they arrived, the boss had already prepared the charcoal fire, and the ingredients were placed on the table. There was also a pitcher of draft beer on the table. It seemed that draft beer was a standard for each table, because as Madison and the others walked through the crowd to their table, they saw at least one pitcher on each table. Above the tables was a high canopy, and although the sun had already set below the sea level, the canopy was lit with soft lights, making it warm and romantic.
The boss placed a large speaker in the middle of the many canopies, playing soft music, which was simply the epitome of romance.
Quentin and Hannah wanted to eat shrimp, so Madison took a plate of shrimp and grilled it for them. "Babies, what else do you want to eat? Go get it, and I'll grill it for you," Madison said to the two of them.
"Okay, Mom," Quentin nodded, then turned around and pulled Willow, saying, "Auntie, let's go together."
"Let's go." Willow held Hannah's hand with one hand and Quentin's with the other, ready to go and see where the ingredients were. Mitchell stood up and said, "I'll go with you." Willow was taken aback. Mitchell didn't seem to be interested in barbecue usually. She thought Mitchell was afraid that they would take too many ingredients and couldn't handle them, so he offered to help. She smiled and said, "Sure."
The four of them walked into the store together. Madison watched their retreating figures with a teasing smile the whole time. Matthew couldn't help but remind her, "Madison, if you keep staring at them like that, I'm afraid not only Mitchell but even Quentin will feel something is off." Madison turned back to look at him, "I just can't help it. Willow and Mitchell are really a perfect match. I can't wait."
"Hold on, we'll be back tomorrow, and I'm sure there will be good news soon," Matthew said with a calculating look.
Madison suppressed a smile and said, "I'll try my best."
Matthew's lips curled, his gaze fixed on Madison, his face full of indulgence.
Quentin and Hannah, along with Auntie and Mitchell, brought back a lot of skewers and seafood. They sat around the table, grilling and eating, enjoying the slow life. Influenced by the lively atmosphere, Matthew, Mitchell, Willow, and Madison drank draft beer and were extremely excited.
From dusk until nightfall, the boss turned on the projector and sound equipment in the center, and someone had already rushed up to the microphone to start singing, kicking off an open-air karaoke session.
Holding a cold draft beer, Willow said to everyone, "The draft beer here is quite good." Madison nodded in agreement, "Yes, it's really good, and the boss said it's not strong, so everyone is treating it like a regular drink." Willow took another big sip of beer, feeling really refreshed.
Quentin and Hannah, who had eaten a lot of seafood and barbecue, started to look for something to play with. The two siblings ran hand in hand to the open-air karaoke area and struck up a conversation with a few young people who were singing. Then, each of them went up and sang a children's song. Madison excitedly pulled Matthew over to record a video of the two.
After Matthew's family of four left their seats, Mitchell and Willow were left behind. Willow had drunk too much beer, and her alcohol tolerance was average, so the draft beer that everyone had treated as a regular drink had gotten her drunk. She listened to Quentin and Hannah singing, and she got so excited that she stood up, waved her hands, and shouted, "Go for it, Quentin, Hannah, I'm rooting for you." Mitchell quickly grabbed her as she staggered.
Willow pushed Mitchell away, "I'm fine, Mitchell. Listen, is that Quentin singing? He's amazing." Mitchell helplessly held her, afraid that she might accidentally fall, "I heard it. Let's sit down first, okay?" Mitchell whispered softly.
"No." Willow, who had already sat down, suddenly stood up again. "I want to go over there, to the karaoke area, to cheer for Quentin and Hannah. Quentin, Hannah, Auntie is here, wait for me."
"All right, we'll go over later, okay?" Mitchell held her. He didn't dare let her go like this. His gentle voice sounded in Willow's ears. If it weren't for her being drunk, she would definitely see the undisguised tenderness in Mitchell's eyes when he looked at her, and she would definitely hear how gentle Mitchell's tone was.
Mitchell supported Willow, who was swaying and shouting that she wanted to go find the two little ones. Mitchell sat her down on a chair, but she just lay down directly. Mitchell was taken aback. Was she asleep or...
