Chapter 153 Trouble

The operation commenced as the henchmen took action upon receiving their orders. First, they escorted all the servers out of the place, then began the search, storming into each private room one by one. Among the servers, the more timid ones watched nervously, particularly eyeing the room farthest down the hallway. Mitchell and Patrick exchanged glances and headed towards the said private room.

As they approached the entrance, the cacophony of festivity echoed from inside, signaling a hive of activity. Patrick, unflinching, thrust the door wide with a forceful kick, unveiling the tableau within.

Daniel, Willow, and Ophelia found themselves encircled by a band of thugs, coerced into a forced merriment. A fierce anger flared within Mitchell at this spectacle. With a tight rein on his fury, he pivoted towards Patrick and uttered tersely, "Get Liam on the line."
Patrick hadn't expected to find Liam's kin there, either. Grasping Mitchell's intent, he quickly called Liam briefed him on the situation and urged him to come immediately.

Meanwhile, Mitchell, with a dark expression, strode toward the three girls.

Daniel, upon hearing the loud 'bang' of the door, turned around in haste and was relieved to see Mitchell and Patrick at the doorway. He spat out the mouthful of alcohol he had unwillingly taken in.

"Mitchell, Patrick, you finally made it," Daniel said, relieved. With his brother and Patrick here, handling these lowlifes seemed manageable.

Daniel was fairly sober in contrast to Willow and Ophelia, who appeared intoxicated.

"Get them out first," commanded Mitchell, his gaze fixed on Willow's bruise and his eyes narrowing dangerously.

He instructed Patrick and Daniel to help Willow and Ophelia out.

Evander, interrupted by his indulgences, stood up in fury as he watched these two strangers trying to whisk away his prey. "Who the heck do you think you are, coming into my place and making a scene," he shouted. "Mr. Johnson will show you if you can take these people away today..."

Mitchell approached him leisurely, without a chance for Evander to finish his rant, grabbed a nearby fire extinguisher, and slammed it down upon Evander's head with fluid precision. Following that, he delivered a powerful kick to Evander's stomach. Evander cried out and staggered backward, collapsing onto the couch as a spray of blood burst from his mouth, clearly indicating the force behind Mitchell's kick.
Everyone missed how Mitchell moved so swiftly. The young women serving drinks screamed in fright at the sight of Evander's bloodied face, becoming a panicked mess as they all rushed out.

Daniel followed Patrick, helping Willow and Ophelia exit the establishment. He was confident that Patrick's brother could handle the situation inside.

Even Patrick hadn't seen Jonah unleash such fury before. Despite his graceful, gentlemanly public persona, often seen composed and polite at the mall, Jonah's transformation was startling. With red eyes and bulging veins on his arms, his fists clenched so tightly they made noise. In short, it wasn't a good day to be on the wrong side of Jonah, especially for the buffoon.

Evander, reeling from Mitchell's kick, which nearly cost him his life, clutched his head wound, his hands trembling, as he ordered his entourage, "Get him."

The dozen or so underlings in the private room surged forward. Mitchell, with a cold expression and a chilling laugh, didn't even consider the twenty-something thugs to be a threat…

As Patrick and the others stepped out of the building, Liam arrived in a flash, skidding to a halt just like Patrick had, his car blocking the entrance. He hurried out and immediately saw the young woman Daniel was supporting.

Liam strode over and took her into his arms.

"Liam," greeted Patrick and Daniel, though Liam only nodded in return.

"What happened?" Liam asked, his voice tight with restrained anger, startling Daniel, who shrank back. Patrick quickly explained, "Nothing to do with Willow. The three of them were just out singing, and they bumped into some drunk local tough."

Liam wasn't blaming anyone; he knew it wasn't the girls' fault.

"Where is he?"

Patrick understood Liam was asking about Jonah. "Jonah is upstairs taking care of it."

Knowing Jonah was handling the situation upstairs meant no one was going to get off easy. With that in mind, Liam helped Ophelia into the car and, after sitting down in the driver's seat, rolled down the window to tell Patrick and Daniel, "I'm taking her home now. Let Jonah know."

Patrick nodded. Daniel quickly added, "Liam, Ophelia might have had quite a bit to drink. Make her some hangover soup when you get back."

"Sure, you guys head back soon too."

Liam had just left when Mitchell came down.

"Did Fourth Bro stop by?" Mitchell asked.

"Yeah, he just left," Patrick replied.

"What about the guys upstairs?" inquired Daniel.
"It's all taken care of, Patrick. Please arrange for someone to take everything to the police station later and have them thoroughly investigate that karaoke bar and this guy named Evander. Make sure that he doesn't see daylight again," Mitchell ordered coldly.

Looking at Willow, who was leaning on Patrick's shoulder, his eyes darkened, "Put Willow in my car, and Willow, you get in too. I'll drive them home. Patrick, you handle the rest here."

"Sure thing, Mitchell."

After getting into the car, Daniel immediately said, "Willow is all by herself with no one to look after her. She can share a room with me tonight; I'll take care of her."

Considering that it probably wasn't a good idea to bring a young girl back to his place, Mitchell agreed with a low voice, "Mm-hmm."

In the car, Daniel helped Willow to sit in the back seat. After two shots of strong liquor, Willow was feeling dizzy and leaned her head against Daniel's shoulder, closing her eyes.

Mitchell pulled out his cell phone to send a quick message through Facebook to Matthew detailing what had happened.

Then, raising his head to glance at them through the rearview mirror, he still couldn't help but ask Daniel with some concern, "Are you okay?"

Daniel was actually fine. Like Mitchell, her family came from a military background and didn't provide special treatment for girls—they were trained in physical fitness from a young age, just like the boys. Daniel, a black belt in taekwondo, would have had no trouble on her own, but with Willow and Ophelia to protect and outnumbered, it wasn't the right situation to resolve with force.

So, at that moment, instead of worrying about anything else, she was focused on how to stall for time and protect the two of them until her brother arrived.

"I'm fine, bro. I didn't expect to randomly pick a karaoke spot that turned out to be a front," Daniel was just relieved her brother arrived on time and that both Willow and Ophelia were safe.

"Where did you all go this afternoon? How did you end up at that karaoke place?" Mitchell asked nonchalantly.

"Well, we went to see a basketball game at the university in the afternoon and then had dinner near the school gates. We thought we'd go out and have some fun on a Friday night; we didn't expect this to happen." Daniel didn't dare lie after what had happened.

Mitchell didn't say much more, just reminded her, "Next time you go out in the evening, either call us in advance or have two people with you."

"Got it, bro."
