Chapter 279 What Little Girls Like
Mitchell's lips stopped inches away from Willow's, looking at the girl beneath him, who was so nervous that she was trembling. He resisted the urge to kiss her and quickly helped her up, his voice gentle and deep, "Are you all right?"
Willow nodded slightly, "I... I know you did it to make Laura leave, that's why you... you said I was your girlfriend." She explained, her face now flushed, still trying to calm herself down.
Mitchell himself was not much better. His heart was also pounding. Although he appeared calm on the surface, he was actually quite confused. It was just a spur-of-the-moment decision, and he didn't expect Willow to suddenly appear. He didn't want to involve her in his issues with Laura. He had already explained everything to his parents and personally apologized to Laura's parents. The elders didn't say much, and although her parents were disappointed, they didn't blame Mitchell. They just said it was a matter for the young people to sort out.
Mitchell didn't expect Laura to come to the company, and she seemed to have guessed who he liked. It was so coincidental that she caused this scene, making it seem like he had gathered the courage to take the first step. Willow's reaction just now should mean that she doesn't dislike him.
Mitchell didn't explain what he had just said. He couldn't possibly say that he meant it, that he had such thoughts. It felt a bit... inappropriate. If Willow found out that he had always had such thoughts about her, would she avoid him in the future?
Mitchell looked at his watch. It was getting late. Willow usually stayed late at work and had dinner before going home. So he took the initiative and invited, "Shall we have dinner together?"
Willow, who hadn't recovered from the recent events, felt embarrassed at the thought and refused, "Mitchell... I... I won't go to dinner. I already had takeout earlier. You go ahead, I... I'll go back first."
Her refusal slightly took Mitchell aback. This seemed to be the first time she had rejected him. There was a hint of disappointment on his face, "All right, I'll walk you back."
Willow pretended not to see the disappointment on his face, held her bag, and prepared to run out, "No need, Mitchell. I've called a car, and it's already at the door." Without waiting for Mitchell's response, she ran out and got into a taxi parked at the entrance.
Mitchell watched her leave, his eyes darkened, feeling a bit at a loss. It was the first time he had pursued a girl, and he really didn't know what to do. What do girls like nowadays? He stood there, motionless, thinking. He would ask Daniel when he got back at night. She should know.
After Willow got into the taxi, her nervousness still hadn't subsided. She unconsciously put her hand to her lips, her face blushing like a teenage girl. Then she immediately shook her head in self-reproach, telling herself that she couldn't expect Mitchell's kiss. But, at such a close distance just now, she saw Mitchell's lips were soft, elastic, and naturally rosy, and for that moment, she really hoped for it.
After returning to the apartment, she cooked tomato and egg noodles for herself and sat in the dining room eating. She sent a video to Madison and listened to Hannah's sweet voice calling her "auntie." Willow's heart was filled with joy. "Hannah, when are you coming back? Auntie really wants to hug you." Madison, who was next to her, took over the conversation, "We'll be back soon. I bought tickets for the day after tomorrow."
"Really? Madison, send me the ticket information later. I want to pick you up." Willow said excitedly. "Auntie, you must come," Hannah urged, then turned to Madison and said, "Mom, please send Auntie the ticket information." Willow listened to Madison's laughter and didn't see Matthew and Quentin, so she asked why they weren't there.
Hannah, who was obediently eating cookies, said, "Dad and Quentin went to play basketball. I'm in the room with Mom." Willow nodded as she ate her noodles, thinking that the hotel Madison booked was really nice. If she went, she would also stay there. She chatted with Hannah for a while, and when she finished her pasta and was about to prepare the tableware, she ended the video call.
Mitchell returned to the villa. Today, Father Jonah and Mother Jonah were both at home, watching TV. But Daniel was nowhere to be seen. Mother Jonah saw her son come back and asked with concern, "Son, you're back. You haven't eaten yet. I'll warm something up for you."
Mitchell took off his coat and walked into the living room, greeting Father Jonah, "Dad." Father Jonah nodded and said, "Hurry up and eat. It's late." Mitchell responded and then turned to Mother Jonah, "Thanks, Mom. Just make something simple. I'm not very hungry."
Mother Jonah replied, walking toward the kitchen, "It's all your favorite dishes. If you're not hungry, just eat less noodles and more vegetables." Mitchell followed her to the kitchen and asked, "Did Daniel not come back today?"
Mother Jonah started to heat the dishes and said, "She called and said she wouldn't be back today. She's busy and went back to her apartment." "Okay," Mitchell replied indifferently. Mother Jonah became curious, "Do you have something to talk to Daniel about? Give her a call. You have her number."
Mitchell turned away, "It's nothing important, no rush." Mother Jonah looked at her son with a smile but didn't say anything more. After finishing his dinner, Mitchell went straight upstairs to his room. Although he said he wasn't very hungry, Mother Jonah still prepared a table full of dishes for him. That's the love of parents, treating their children like little kids, whether they're a few years old, in their teens, or even in their thirties.
After taking a shower in his room, Mitchell lay on the bed with his phone. Since Daniel hadn't come back, he decided to ask Patrick. Patrick was usually close to both of them. Mitchell was about to call Patrick, but then he felt that it would be a bit awkward, so he decided to send him a message on Facebook.
"Patrick, I have something to ask you," Patrick replied almost instantly, probably playing games on his phone. "What's up, Mitchell? What can I do for you?" Mitchell thought for a moment, then typed a few words and sent them, "What do younger girls like?"
