Chapter 330 Reporting to Parents

Willow officially had a video call with Mitchell's parents the day after meeting them. Father Nelson and Mother Nelson were quite open-minded, respecting their daughter's choice. Mother Nelson even thought that they would be at ease if Willow married into Mitchell's family. However, Mother Nelson couldn't help but mutter on the phone, "Willow finally got Mitchell."

"Ah?" Willow didn't quite understand what her mom meant by saying that.

"Just your little thoughts of following others since you were young. Do you think I don't know?" Mother Nelson was very straightforward. Embarrassed by her mother's words, Willow sought help from her dad, "Dad…"

"All right, our good daughter found a good husband. Isn't this what we hoped for? Mitchell is a good kid." Father Nelson was quite approving of Mitchell.

"I'm just praising our daughter." Mother Nelson directly coquettish with Father Nelson on the video call. Willow had always admired her parents' love, singing together sharing common interests and life goals. Both humorous and witty, their home was always filled with laughter and harmony. Even when they occasionally disagreed, Dad always gave in to Mom, making Mom feel too embarrassed to get angry.

"Mom and Dad, do you have time to come to Horizon City recently?" Willow asked. If they were coming back, she wanted to have a meal with Mitchell and her parents. Even though they had met before, a formal meeting was still necessary.

"Your dad is quite busy lately. A school invited him to give a speech in a few days, so we'll probably be out for four or five days. How about you all come to Seaspring Valley City? You haven't been there this year." Father Nelson and Mother Nelson had just returned and were already busy again. With their minds focused on research, their daughter, now grown up, didn't need them to worry as much. Even though they were retired now, they were busier than when they were teachers at school.

Willow thought it over and realized it could work. Mitchell hadn't been to Seaspring Valley City yet, so going there with her parents seemed like a good idea. "All right, we'll buy tickets to come over after your speech."

"Great, I and your dad will come pick you up." The Nelsons were naturally delighted that their obedient daughter and future son-in-law were coming.

After ending the video call with her parents, Willow couldn't wait to call Mitchell.

Mitchell seemed to be in a meeting. When the call connected, Willow could hear English conversations in the background. After a while, Mitchell's clear voice gradually approached, "What's up? Still not sleeping this late?" His low voice, tinged with a smile, was as pleasant as a cello playing. In her mind, Willow could immediately imagine him, lips curved, holding his phone while talking, making her feel as if she were basking in sunlight, her own lips involuntarily curling up.

"Just finished talking to my parents on video." Willow said, then asked, "Were you in a meeting just now? Did I disturb you?" She also muttered softly, "Working so late."

"Just had to handle something last minute, it's done now. What did you talk to your uncle and aunt about?" Mitchell was at his apartment tonight, originally in a meeting with his overseas project team. Seeing Willow's call, he quickly summarized a few points before letting his assistant continue the meeting for him. He had thought Willow would be asleep at this hour, but she was still awake. Hearing that she had talked to her parents, he was suddenly nervous, thinking she might have mentioned something about them.

"Just told them about us." She felt embarrassed even though it was over the phone, and no one could see her expression.

"What did they say?" Although Mitchell's tone was very calm and casual, he was actually holding his breath, slightly nervous, waiting for Willow's response.

"They didn't say much. They're quite pleased with you." Willow smiled and said, "But they don't have time to come back to Horizon City recently, they invited us to Seaspring Valley City." Willow shared her parents' thoughts with Mitchell, knowing she would need to take leave if they went to Seaspring Valley City.

"Okay, I can come over anytime." Mitchell immediately agreed. It was time to be proactive.

"My dad has a speech coming up, so after that, probably in about a week." Willow held her phone, legs crossed, sitting on the sofa with bare feet swinging back and forth, just like any young girl in love, talking to her boyfriend. Even though they were discussing very ordinary things, she felt full of happiness.

"All right." Mitchell felt the same way. He wanted to chat a bit longer, even if it was just casual conversation. Despite meeting during the day and only being apart for a few hours, having dinner together in the evening, it seemed like they couldn't wait to see each other again.

"Get some rest, breakfast, and sleep. I'll come pick you up tomorrow." Though reluctant, Mitchell wanted Willow to rest more. Checking the time and seeing it was late, he reminded her to have breakfast and sleep.

"Okay." Just as Mitchell was about to hang up, he heard Willow's voice again, "Mitchell…"

"What's up?" Standing by the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room, looking at the night view outside, hearing the word 'Mitchell,' his heart uncontrollably sped up. He thought, his life was now in Willow's hands.

"Nothing, good night, Mitchell." Willow gently laughed. She just wanted to say good night to Mitchell.

"Good night." Mitchell also tenderly bid her good night. The two lingered on the phone before finally hanging up, destined for another sweet night.

Lately, Mitchell's punctuality in arriving and leaving work had caused a stir on the 16th floor, as it was quite unusual. Previously known for working hard and putting in extra hours, he had suddenly changed. Speculations arose among colleagues that Mr. Jonah might be in love, but soon, someone dismissed the idea, saying they hadn't seen any girls coming to see Mr. Jonah recently. Even Laura, who used to visit frequently, hadn't been seen for a while, so it was definitely not about romance.

When Willow went upstairs to deliver documents to Mitchell, she happened to run into them discussing. Mitchell's secretary, Amy King, who often interacted with people on the lower floors and was familiar with Willow, directly pulled her into the discussion.

"Willow, do you know what's up with Mr. Jonah lately? He's not working overtime anymore, and I'm starting to doubt my life, always leaving on time." Amy asked in a hushed tone.
