Chapter 339 Self-made Candlelight Dinner

Originally, Willow and Mitchell just planned to stroll around casually and buy some groceries for the evening. But unexpectedly, after a round of shopping, their cart was filled to the brim. They not only bought groceries but also snacks, ice cream, a couple’s slippers, a couple’s toothbrushes and cups... In short, a bunch of non-essential daily necessities were bought, all brand new.

The merchants really knew how to cater to the young couples. The pink and blue toothbrushes and cups, along with the couple’s slippers placed together, were simply irresistible, especially for lovebirds in the throes of passion. At checkout, Willow felt somewhat embarrassed by the two full bags of stuff, saying, "Mitchell, it seems like we bought a bit too much."

Mitchell, holding both bags by himself, insisted they were necessary as he smiled and let Willow walk empty-handed. He said, "Not too much, all of these are necessary."

Two girls behind them couldn't help but exclaim, "Oh my, what a handsome guy, and he's so good to his girlfriend."

"Yeah, he's overflowing with boyfriend power," another girl chimed in.

Willow hurriedly pulled Mitchell away as she thought in her heart, ‘Mitchell is really too eye-catching; I really gotta bring a mask for him next time we go out.’

Mitchell's eyes twinkled, and a faint smile played on his lips as he quickened his pace to catch up with her. ‘So, Willow will get jealous too.’

Although the supermarket was just downstairs from their apartment, carrying back two large bags of stuff would be tough. Upon leaving the supermarket, Willow insisted on helping to carry one bag, but Mitchell wouldn't let her because it was really quite heavy. She definitely couldn't carry it.

Willow cared for Mitchell and insisted on helping. With no other choice, Mitchell gave her one bag. They each carried one side of that bag and walked back to the apartment together. Once inside, Mitchell took the vegetables and meat into the kitchen, and put the snacks in the snack storage box on the coffee table, while Willow tidied up the daily necessities. She happily arranged the slippers neatly, replaced the toothbrushes and cups with new ones, and changed the towels, feeling delighted at the orderly sight.

When she finished organizing and walked into the kitchen, Mitchell was already washing and cutting vegetables. She walked over and called out, "Mitchell..."

Mitchell turned to see her, a smile on his face. "All done?"

"Mm-hmm." Willow nodded with a smile, her eyes shimmering with a clear light as if she could only see Mitchell in her clear eyes, and she started helping with washing the vegetables.

Mitchell turned back to the sink, his lips lightly pursed, feeling sweet in his heart.

While shopping at the supermarket, they discussed what to cook for dinner. Four dishes for two people, just right. After preparing the ingredients, Willow reached for the apron to start cooking, but Mitchell took the apron from her and put it on himself. With a constant smile on his face, he said, "I'll do the cooking."

Before Willow could react, Mitchell had already put on the apron and tied it, saying, "The kitchen will be smoky when cooking, go outside and watch TV. I'll call you when it's ready."

Willow was pushed out of the kitchen by Mitchell in a daze, only then did she ask in her mind, ‘Can Mitchell cook?’ She didn't go to the living room to watch TV, but stood at the kitchen door, watching Mitchell handle the ingredients calmly and skillfully as if he had done the same actions hundreds of times before, very proficiently.

Willow watched him roll up his sleeves, revealing flawless skin, and when he stirred the food with force, the faint veins on his arms were visible. She stood at the door, mesmerized by his cooking actions.

‘How could someone look so handsome even while cooking?’ thought Willow.

Mitchell didn't know Willow had been standing at the door the whole time. When he was ready to plate the dishes and turned around, their eyes met. Seeing her waiting by the door like a cat waiting to be fed, a faint smile tugged at his lips. In a low voice, he said, "Dinner's ready."

Willow quickly opened the kitchen door, smiling, and took the plate from Mitchell. The dishes he cooked were so delicately arranged, even better than those made by chefs in restaurants, and it was very appetizing. Willow eagerly helped serve the dishes and set the table.

Sitting face to face at the dining table, Willow even turned off the lights and lit scented candles. Mitchell opened a bottle of Red wine, and a romantic candlelight dinner officially began. Looking at the delicious food on the table, Willow couldn't wait any longer. She picked up a piece of beef with her fork and put it in her mouth. The taste was simply stunning; she never knew Mitchell's cooking skills were this good.

Mitchell's beautiful and slender fingers were peeling shrimp, and after dipping them in some sauce, he reached out to feed Willow, smiling and saying, "Here, open your mouth."

Willow looked up, Mitchell's face seemed to be glowing under the candlelight. She obediently opened her mouth, cheeks bulging like a cute little hamster, and Mitchell continued to peel shrimp, saying, "Eat slowly, there's plenty more."

With food in her mouth, Willow mumbled, "When did you learn such superb cooking skills? It's so delicious." Every dish tasted great, even the sauce for the shrimp was fragrant, making her want to drink it directly.

"I just learned recently. If you like it, we can cook together after work." Mitchell kept peeling shrimp and feeding Willow while speaking. He did not start eating until she was almost full.

"Okay." Willow served a bowl of soup and pushed it in front of Mitchell. Just like that, they often strolled around the supermarket or the market bought groceries, and cooked together, giving off the feeling of an old married couple, a family.

Besides, Mitchell's cooking was even better than that of the chefs in the restaurant.

Although Mitchell ate slowly and seemingly leisurely, he seemed to eat quite a lot, so the food on his plate quickly disappeared. Thus, they almost simultaneously put down their forks. Because they ate a lot, they only drank one glass each from the bottle of Red wine.

After cleaning up the dishes and putting them in the dishwasher, Willow took the opened Red wine to the sofa, watching a movie while sipping on it, feeling quite content. So when Mitchell finished showering and came out, he saw two glasses of Red wine already poured on the coffee table, raising his eyebrows as he walked over. "Feeling like having a drink tonight?" Memories of every time Willow drank too much involuntarily flashed through his mind, his eyes darkened, and he looked away.
