Chapter 254 Welcoming Family

Madison was a bit confused. The tree-lined path actually looked quite spacious. Wouldn't it be more convenient to drive the car straight in with enough space for two-way traffic?
Hank noticed Madison's confusion and smiled, saying, "There are many small animals in the bushes on both sides. Sometimes they run onto the road, so vehicles are not allowed."

Madison nodded understandingly and then exchanged a glance with Matthew. Why did she feel nervous again?

At this moment, the black wrought iron gate opened again, and the car Father Howard was in slowly drove in and stopped in front of them. As soon as the car door opened, Quentin was the first to jump out of the car, followed by Hannah, wiggling her bottom and sticking out her short legs, wanting to jump out as well. But Hank quickly held her back and said, "Little one, what if you jump down and fall?"

"Uncle, how did you arrive before us?" Hannah felt no sense of danger at all. Seeing herself being held by her uncle, she sweetly asked in her soft voice.

"Uncle's car is faster than yours, so that's why Uncle and your parents arrived first. Let's go, let's go to your grandparents' house. Great-grandfather and Great-grandmother are all waiting for you." Hank carried Hannah and walked toward the tree-lined path. Everyone followed behind, walking together.

As the family walked along the tree-lined path, a squirrel ran out. Hannah excitedly struggled to get down from her uncle's arms and ran after the squirrel with her brother. The squirrel ran very fast and disappeared into a tree. Hannah rubbed her eyes cutely, thinking she must have seen it wrong. "Brother, you also saw a squirrel just now, right?" Quentin looked at his sister and nodded. "Yes, Hannah didn't see it wrong. I saw the squirrel, too, but it ran away very fast and hid."

Hank smiled and walked up behind them. "There are probably more little bunnies up ahead. Let's keep going quickly." The family continued walking for a while and finally saw a little bunny in the grass. The two little ones were extremely excited. The bunny wasn't afraid and didn't run away like the squirrels. It sat there obediently. Quentin picked up a leaf from the roadside and fed it to the bunny. The bunny opened its mouth and started eating. It was very cute. Hannah watched and followed her brother's lead, finding tender leaves to feed the bunny. The bunny gratefully ate them all. The two felt encouraged and went everywhere to find tender leaves to feed the bunny. They couldn't take another step forward and had to be urged by Madison to say goodbye to the little bunny reluctantly.

Hank said it would only take ten minutes to get there, but because the two little ones kept stopping and running after squirrels or feeding the bunny, it took them a full half an hour to reach the Villa's gate.

Madison and Matthew walked at the back, with Madison tightly holding Matthew's hand. Matthew chuckled and said, "Honey, shouldn't I be the one more nervous?"

Father Howard and Mother Howard walked in front of them. When they heard them, Mother Howard turned back and smiled reassuringly. "Both of you don't need to be nervous. There's no need to be nervous when you're going back to your own home."

Father Howard agreed, "Yes, there's nothing to be nervous about when going back to your own home. Eat whatever you want and do whatever you want."

Madison and Matthew exchanged a glance and then turned to their parents, nodding and smiling. "Okay, Mom and Dad."

At this point, a little child poked their head out from the gate and shouted when they saw them, "They're here!" Then they ran back into the house. Madison and the others also arrived at the Villa's gate. The two large doors were wide open. Madison looked inside and froze on the spot.

Why were there so many people...

The living room of the Villa was packed with people. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that every corner had someone. There were at least thirty people, big and small. Everyone had smiles on their faces, warmly looking at their family. Quentin and Hannah, who were originally at the front with their uncle, ran back to their parents and held their hands. Hannah even hid behind Madison for a moment.

Father Howard and Mother Howard wheeled the suitcases inside. Mother Howard said, "Great, everyone is here. Tonight, we'll have a lively family dinner together." On the other hand, Hank carried the little boy who had been peeking at them by the gate and played with him as soon as they entered the house.

Madison had a polite smile on her face, but her palms were sweaty. Why didn't they inform her in advance? They were such a big family! Matthew appeared calm and serious, without any extra expressions or emotions. Before Madison could react, everyone warmly embraced and welcomed the family of four into the living room. They bombarded them with questions, asking if they were tired or thirsty, offering to carry their luggage, pour water, or serve fruit. Madison held onto her husband and children, nodding and smiling foolishly, not even having the chance to answer anyone's questions.

Once they entered the living room, Madison noticed two kind and gentle older adults sitting in the middle of the sofa. She guessed that they must be the grandparents. Just as she was thinking this, Mother Howard walked over and patted her shoulder. "Madison, these are your grandparents." Madison held the hands of her two children and, with Matthew, followed Mother Howard to stand in front of her grandparents.

Mother Howard bent down and raised her voice slightly. "Dad, Mom, Madison has come back!" The two older adults seemed to focus their gaze, staring at Madison as their hazy eyes became clear. Excitedly, they reached out their hands, and Madison quickly shook them. "Grandpa, Grandma, I'm back." The two elderly people looked at Madison and, hearing her call them "grandpa and grandma" after more than twenty years, their eyes welled up with tears. Grandpa's voice trembled as he spoke, "It's our Madison. Our Madison has come home." Grandma also trembled as she reached to touch Madison's face. Both older adults shed tears of excitement that they couldn't hold back, and many of the women nearby wiped their eyes discreetly. Mother Howard turned her face away to wipe her eyes and continued introducing, "Dad, Mom, this is Madison's husband, and these two are their children, Quentin and Hannah."

Matthew greeted the two elderly people along with Madison, and Quentin and Hannah obediently called them "great-grandfather and great-grandmother." The two older adults, now filled with excitement, supported each other as they stood up. They looked at their long-lost granddaughter and then at their talented grandson-in-law. Finally, their gaze fell on their two great-grandchildren, and they nodded repeatedly, saying that this life was fulfilled.
