Chapter 313 Bustling Dinner Party (Part 2)
Willow sat next to Mitchell, giving him a coquettish glare. Mitchell was really shameless now. Clearly, she had liked him for so many years and finally got him, and he always looked like he was worried about running away at any moment. It was actually her who should be worried about him running away, right?
Patrick joined in teasing, "Willow, how did you let Mitchell catch you? Now that you're in a relationship, you can only go out to eat with Daniel in the future."
Mitchell raised an eyebrow at Patrick and casually replied, "I'll take her out to eat in the future. Just send me the address."
Patrick felt like he couldn't talk to Mitchell lately without getting annoyed by his smug expression.
Pretending not to see Patrick's annoyed expression, Mitchell secretly held Willow's hand under the table, gently rubbing her palm with his thumb. Willow felt ticklish and wanted to pull her hand away, but she couldn't succeed until they started eating, and Mitchell reluctantly let go of her hand.
Liam and Ophelia arrived last because Ophelia was recording a show in the afternoon. Ophelia was wrapped up tightly when she entered, only revealing her face after taking off her mask, sunglasses, and hat in the private room. She looked excitedly at Mitchell and Willow, her gaze naked and unwavering. Willow finally couldn't help but say to her, "Ophelia, stop staring at us. If you have something to ask, just ask."
Ophelia's delicate face wore a mischievous smile as she pointed and asked, "Are you two really in a relationship? Who pursued whom?"
Willow blushed, not expecting Ophelia to be so direct. In a good mood, Mitchell answered Ophelia's question, "I pursued Willow."
"Oh my, do you know I've been shipping you two for so long? Daniel even told me it was impossible that you didn't like Willow. The relationship I supported actually came true. I'm so touched," Ophelia exclaimed, looking particularly excited. Mitchell didn't expect her to react this way and responded with a pleased smile, "Thank you."
The dinner was lively and cheerful, with the group not having gathered in a long time. Since they were heading to a bar next, they only drank juice during dinner and saved the alcohol for later. After dinner, they all moved to Mitchell's bar.
The bar's resident singer was singing emotional ballads on stage, and there weren't many people dancing tonight; most were quietly drinking and chatting. They went straight to the VIP lounge upstairs, enjoying a rare relaxation among familiar faces, feeling free to let loose. Mitchell brought out his collection of wines, and the ladies present all joined in, agreeing to call for a designated driver later. However, Daniel was the only one with a good alcohol tolerance among them. The others couldn't handle much. Despite being in the entertainment industry, Ophelia hadn't developed a tolerance as she rarely socialized before becoming famous. Now, with Liam by her side, she didn't need to socialize as much.
An hour later, at the bar, Willow and Ophelia both ended up singing and dancing wildly, standing on the sofa with bottles in hand. Willow seemed to have unleashed all her rebelliousness, appearing completely different from her usual well-behaved self when drunk. Patrick recorded videos of them, jokingly calling it a rare memory and promising to share it with Mitchell and Liam later. Both brothers rolled their eyes at him but still accepted the video. After all, how could they not keep a precious video of their own wives?
Knowing her low alcohol tolerance, Madison didn't drink much and remained clear-headed despite feeling a bit dizzy. Matthew sat with her in a corner, with Victor nearby. Matthew asked Victor when he planned to go to Rome as he needed to visit to understand his parents' deaths. Brianna had given him a USB drive containing evidence related to the K Group, which he had handed over to the police. Victor suggested they stay in Horizon City for two days before heading to Rome, where Hank might need to help extract the data from the USB drive. Matthew agreed and asked Victor to help book their tickets together.
"Okay," Victor replied.
While Matthew and Victor discussed their plans, Madison sat quietly beside them, listening. After they finalized their plans, Matthew turned to her, gently held her hand, and without a word, they shared a silent understanding. Madison knew that it would always weigh on Matthew's mind if they didn't resolve this matter. So, whatever decision he made, she would fully support him.
As the party dispersed in the early morning, Daniel, seeing Willow in Patrick's embrace with closed eyes, decided to play the role of a helpful sister. She suggested to her brother, "Hey, don't go home and disturb Mom and Dad at this late hour. I'll go back to my apartment, you figure out what to do." With a wink and a wave, she walked away gracefully.
So, Patrick ended up driving three single individuals home. They dropped off Victor first at his hotel, then Daniel at her apartment, before Patrick headed home himself. Liam left with Ophelia, followed by Mitchell and Willow. Finally, Matthew and Madison, looking like an old married couple, stood hand in hand on the roadside. Initially planning to call a ride, Madison suddenly suggested, "Matthew, let's walk back. We're staying at New River Garden, not far from here tonight." Her eyes sparkled with excitement, her face flushed from the alcohol, and her gaze a bit dreamy, smiling brightly and cutely.
Matthew, not feeling much effect from the alcohol, looked at his wife's charming expression, couldn't resist leaning down to kiss her, tasting the sweetness, and then said with a smile, "All right, I'll follow your lead." Holding hands, they walked back together, fingers intertwined, on the bustling street in the early morning, feeling no fatigue on the journey home.
