Chapter 393 Morning Surprise

The next day, when Willow woke up, the sun was already high in the sky. As she gently moved her body, she heard Mitchell's gentle voice from behind. "Awake?" Willow covered her face, too embarrassed to look at him. Although she had drunk alcohol last night, she remembered everything that happened very clearly, including some embarrassing details. She knew that Mitchell had carried her to the bathroom to help her bathe, and she was too shy to open her eyes, so she pretended to be asleep the whole time. After the bath, Mitchell even put clean underwear and pajamas on her, and she was aware of all of this.

Mitchell smiled happily, took her hands away from her face, and then, like a magician, produced a ring. He got out of bed very formally, walked to Willow's side, knelt on one knee, and held up the ring, asking, "Willow, will you marry me?"

Willow was so shocked that she froze in place, her eyes wide open, with only her heart pounding wildly, unable to say a word. Mitchell, kneeling on the ground, was actually extremely nervous. Although there was no meticulously planned surprise, after their intimate moment last night, he felt he had to propose immediately; he couldn't wait another moment.

Because Willow hadn't said anything, Mitchell gathered his courage and asked again, "Willow, will you marry me?" Willow was still too excited to speak and could only nod vigorously.

How could she not want to? He was the person she had liked since her teenage years, the one she had wanted to marry since her youth, the one she had secretly loved for so many years and finally made it happen. Any hesitation would be disrespectful to this long-held secret love.

Seeing Willow nod, Mitchell finally breathed a sigh of relief, stood up with a smile, and directly took Willow's left hand, slipping the ring onto her ring finger. The size was just right. This time, it fit perfectly. Willow kept staring at the ring on her left ring finger, grinning foolishly. The ring's design was very simple and elegant, and the more Willow looked at it, the more she liked it.

Willow stayed in bed, knowing that Mitchell had already taken a leave of absence for her. Mitchell chuckled and kissed her gently on the forehead. Then he asked softly, "Does it still hurt? Is your back still sore?"

Willow's face was burning hot, and she reached out to cover his mouth. "Don't say anything, and don't ask." Actually, Mitchell had been very gentle last night, and she didn't feel any discomfort. She just felt really embarrassed. Mitchell kissed her palm, making Willow's face even redder. She quickly let go, grabbed the blanket, and pulled it over her head, hiding completely under it. Mitchell laughed and coaxed her gently, "Sweet Willow, come out, okay? You'll suffocate if you stay in there. I won't ask anymore, okay?" Then he gently tugged at the blanket.

Willow didn't hold on tightly, so with a gentle pull, Mitchell pulled the blanket down. Seeing her lying in bed with a blushed face, he couldn't help but lean down and kiss her again. They kissed until they were both out of breath before he reluctantly let go, then buried his face in her shoulder, breathing heavily, and whispered, "Willow, I love you." Willow's body trembled slightly, and she smiled, whispering, "I love you, too."

Mitchell actually barely slept last night. They had come back very late, and after they made love, he carried Willow to the bathroom to bathe and change her clothes. Once everything was done, he lay beside her, propping himself up to watch her, too reluctant to fall asleep. He had waited so many years for Willow, the person he had always longed for, and now, she finally agreed to marry him.

He had once harbored thoughts of secretly protecting her, caring for her from a distance, standing in a spot where she could see him with just a turn of her head, being a bystander. Yet, he often couldn't resist the urge to imagine spending every day with her. Fortunately, he had finally waited for this day.

Mitchell held Willow's left hand, the one with the ring, and Willow noticed that he already had a matching man's ring on his left ring finger. Their fingers intertwined, and the rings encircled their fingers, binding them tightly together. Mitchell took out his phone and started taking pictures of their tightly clasped hands. This time, Willow cooperated with Mitchell, and they took several photos. He chose the one he was most satisfied with and posted it on Stories: [Forever with you.]

After posting the Stories, Mitchell got up to cook while Willow stayed in bed, scrolling through her phone. She quickly saw Mitchell's Stories and saved the picture to her phone, posting the same photo on her own Stories. She wrote: [You are my Mr. Right.]

Because in her heart, Mitchell was the best.

Their simultaneous Stories posts were undoubtedly a public announcement. Both of their posts were flooded with congratulations. Many of Willow's comments were from her colleagues, and Elizabeth even sent her a Facebook message: [Congratulations! Remember to get Mr. Jonah to give us some perks!]

Everyone was too afraid to ask Mitchell for perks directly, so they came to her instead. After Mitchell finished cooking, he came in to call her for a meal and saw Willow pouting with a conflicted expression. He walked over and happened to catch a glimpse of her phone messages. He then took his phone and graciously thanked everyone, posting a lot of perks in the group chat. Now, the entire company was eagerly anticipating their wedding, knowing there would be another round of perks to grab.

Everyone was looking forward to perks from Mitchell's wedding, perks from Mr. Jonah's wedding, and then there were perks from Victor, Liam, and Patrick. The employees were eager for the bosses to embark on a romantic journey posthaste, as they could hardly wait to seize the benefits that may ensue.

Since they woke up late, they had brunch. Mitchell specifically made a few of Willow's favorite dishes. Mitchell had really honed his cooking skills and had a firm grip on her taste buds.

She used not to cook much, always feeling that the heavily flavored food outside was the best. Ever since Mitchell started cooking for her every day, she discovered there were so many ways to cook, and Mitchell had spoiled her taste buds.

As they were finishing their meal, Mitchell was cleaning up the dishes when the doorbell rang. Willow looked up in confusion. She pondered, 'We didn't ordered takeout or bought anything, so who could it be?' Mitchell was in the kitchen, so Willow ran to open the door.

As soon as she opened the door, she was greeted by a huge bouquet of red roses. The delivery guy asked, "Are you Willow Nelson?" Willow nodded dumbfoundedly. The delivery guy then said, "These are your flowers. Please sign for them."
