Chapter 250 A Day of Feeling Like a Third Wheel

After everyone finished lunch and returned to work, they all busied themselves with their respective tasks. Madison had finished designing and making clothes for Mother Howard, which she packed into a gift box and prepared to take back later. She was tidying up her office and preparing to bring home some of the half-finished sketches to work on when she had the time to get them to Emerald Isle City.

Rachel helped Madison organize things in her office. "Madison, once you finish these designs, our task for this year will be completed."

"I'll work hard then." Madison smiled and put the organized sketches into a document bag.

"No need to rush. Take your time with the drawings. You'll definitely be busy when you go to Emerald Isle City," Rachel said with a smile. "Madison, who is still at your home? Are you nervous about going back this time?"

"My parents told me that my grandparents are still there, along with a few aunties, but I didn't ask for details. Right now, I'm not nervous at all. I'm excited. I don't know if I'll start feeling nervous after I arrive in Emerald Isle City."

The two of them chatted while tidying up. Madison finished organizing the manuscripts and prepared to leave. "Rachel, I'm heading back now. Quentin and Hannah are packing their suitcases themselves, and I don't know how well they're doing. I'll go back and check and then organize everything again. If there are any urgent guests, give me a call, and I'll do everything I can to cooperate."

"Alright, Madison, you can rest assured. Go home and enjoy yourself. Since those who choose custom-made have the patience to wait, we are not in a hurry," Rachel reassured her, supporting her shoulder and letting Madison not worry about the submission.

Madison held her bag in one hand and carried Mother Howard's gown in the other, standing at the entrance of the office with a slight smile. "You're right! I'm leaving."

"I'll walk you downstairs. Did you drive here?" Rachel followed behind her and asked.

"No, you know I don't like driving. I took a taxi here in the morning," Madison replied. After saying goodbye to a few friends in the studio, Madison and Rachel stepped into the elevator together.

"Madison, let me take you home. It's probably hard to find a taxi now," Rachel suggested, thinking that she didn't have much to do in the afternoon anyway.

"I'm fine. Just wait a little bit longer. It's troublesome for you to come back and forth. Besides, it's not far," Madison said as she took out her phone to call a taxi. As the elevator reached the ground floor, the two of them just walked out the door when Rachel spotted a familiar car parked by the roadside. She smiled teasingly and said, "Alright, the full-time driver is here. I don't need to send you off, and you don't need to take a taxi either." Madison looked up at Rachel in confusion, not yet realizing what was going on. He then followed Rachel's gaze and saw Matthew's car parked on the roadside. He happened to see them, opened the car door, and walked toward them.

Now that Rachel had interacted with Matthew more often, she could greet him openly. As soon as she saw Matthew approaching, she greeted him, "Hello, Matthew." She had never imagined that she would actually get to know the legendary figure of Horizon City, so she still remembered the shock she felt when she found out that Quentin and Hannah's father was Matthew. Matthew had always been serious and cold toward everyone, so she was initially worried and scared.

Matthew nodded at Rachel and then turned his gaze gently toward Madison, taking the gift box and bag from her hand. "Are you all done?"

Madison was filled with surprise. "How did you come here?" she asked as they both woke up in the morning. She had only told him that she was going to the studio to pick up her gown, organize things, and probably have lunch before going back. She hadn't expected him to come and pick her up.

"I noticed that you didn't take the car, and it's not easy to get a taxi around here," Matthew explained briefly.

"When did you arrive? Have you been waiting for a long time? Why didn't you give me a call?" Madison held Matthew's hand with a smile on her face. She was so happy that she forgot her usual shyness and acted quite affectionate. She took the initiative to hold Matthew's hand with a hint of a spoiled tone in her voice.

Matthew naturally enjoyed the rare initiative from his wife. He slightly curved his lips and patiently answered, "I just arrived a little while ago. I was about to text you when I saw you coming downstairs."

Madison continued to smile and said, "Then we really understand each other."

Matthew gently tapped her nose with his hand and said, "Yes, we understand each other."

Rachel stood by and watched the affectionate couple. Love could really change a person. She was fortunate enough to witness Madison, who was usually shy and independent, being affectionate, and Matthew, who was typically cold, being so gentle.

After Matthew and Madison returned to the villa, Madison discovered that Quentin and Hannah, along with their suitcases, had all been neatly organized.

"Who helped you guys pack your suitcases?" Madison opened the suitcases and was extremely surprised to see everything arranged so neatly.

"It was Daddy who helped us pack," Quentin happily replied. It was obvious that Quentin was very pleased.

"Yeah, Mom, check to see if we did a good job," Hannah said with an expectant look, waiting for praise.

Madison opened the two kids' and their larger suitcases. The clothes, toiletries, and towels were all there and neatly stacked. Looking at the two kids standing in front of her, eagerly awaiting her evaluation, Madison couldn't help but smile. "You did a fantastic job! Thumbs up for Quentin, Hannah, and Daddy. Just remember to bring your mosquito repellent spray and patches."

Upon hearing this, the two kids hurried back to their rooms to grab the items. Madison stood up and looked at Matthew with a smile on her face. Step by step, she walked toward him and said, "Thank you, husband."

Matthew's ears turned slightly red, and he coughed softly to cover up his slight awkwardness. "I found that packing is actually quite simple. So I took care of everything."

"Will you help me with simple things in the future?" Madison deliberately teased.

Who knew Matthew only replied with one word, "Okay."

And he looked serious; he really took Madison's words seriously.

"Fool." Madison reached out and hugged the person in front of her. How lucky she was to meet him! Footsteps approached, and the two little ones had found the mosquito repellent spray and patches and come back.

Hannah ran over first, holding the mosquito patches in her hands. Looking at Madison and Matthew hugging each other, she innocently asked, "Mommy and Daddy, what are you doing? Are you going to kiss?" After speaking, she stood in the doorway, blinking her big eyes and staring at her parents.
