Chapter 481 Discharged and Returning Home
Since it was still early and the doctors hadn't started their shifts yet, Mitchell went out to get a glass of milk for Willow to fill her stomach. At 8 o'clock, after the doctors started their rounds, he took her for another check-up.
The doctor said, "There's nothing wrong. You can be discharged today. Just eat well, sleep well, exercise moderately, and have regular check-ups. All the indicators are good now."
It wasn't until he heard that, Mitchell finally sighed in relief, opened the memo app on his phone, and started recording the doctor's instructions on what she could and couldn't eat, including no sexual activity. After the doctor left, he turned to Willow seriously and said, "The doctor said no sex for the first three months. Luckily, the baby is fine."
Not only had they been intimate, but they had also been very diligent because they were trying to conceive.
Willow lowered her head in fear, placing her hands on her lower abdomen. Fortunately, the baby was strong.
After completing the check-up and discharge procedures, it was almost noon. Mitchell took Willow back to their apartment. They hadn't cooked much this week, so the fridge was nearly empty. He made her a bowl of spaghetti with an egg, which Willow quickly finished with a good appetite.
Seeing her eat well, Mitchell felt much more at ease.
"What do you want for dinner? I'll go grocery shopping later," he asked after settling her in bed to rest, not allowing her to get up.
Willow listed a bunch of dishes. Perhaps knowing there was a baby inside her, she felt like she needed more nutrition and suddenly had a big appetite, wanting to eat everything.
Mitchell looked at her indulgently and replied with a smile, "Okay, I'll cook everything for you."
Just then, Patrick called. He had been entertaining a group of people until late last night and drank quite a bit. He fell asleep as soon as he got home and only woke up now. Remembering how Mitchell had left in a hurry last night, he quickly called to ask what had happened.
"Mitchell, is everything okay? Why did you leave in such a rush?" he asked, walking into the kitchen to get some water after his shower.
Mitchell, sitting by the bed, answered, "I went to the hospital."
"Why? Who's sick?" Patrick asked, his mouth full of water.
"No one's sick. Willow is pregnant," Mitchell said calmly, though it took him a lot of time and self-control not to jump up and scream.
Patrick spat out his water and coughed several times before he could speak again. He raised his voice and repeated, "Willow is pregnant. So soon."
They had only talked about trying for a baby at Christmas, and now she was already pregnant. Mitchell was indeed impressive.
Patrick congratulated him, happy that soon someone would call him 'Uncle Patrick.'
After hanging up with Patrick, Mitchell shared the good news in their group chat.
The group immediately became lively.
Hearing that Willow had fainted and was hospitalized, Matthew directly gave Mitchell a few days off to take care of Willow, distributing his work to Victor and Patrick. Even Patrick accepted the arrangement gladly, as Willow was like their own sister they had all watched grow up.
While Mitchell was chatting with the guys in the group, Willow received calls from Madison, Danielle and Ophelia.
Ophelia, who was filming, didn't talk for long. Madison chatted with her for quite a while, sharing some early pregnancy tips. Willow listened attentively, knowing she had a lot to learn from Madison as a new mom.
Willow laughed and said Mitchell was so nervous he wouldn't let her get out of bed.
Madison laughed and replied, "Matthew was the same when he first found out I was pregnant. He was so nervous. Since you just fainted yesterday, you should rest more. Later, you can exercise moderately, take walks after meals and return to work after three months if Mitchell is okay with it."
"If I stay home until I give birth, I'll go crazy," Willow said with a low laugh. She had already decided to go back to work and planned to discuss it with Mitchell in the next couple of days.
After talking with Madison, Danielle called, excitedly shouting, "Willow, I'm really going to be an aunt, right?"
Willow thought Danielle was the most excited after Mitchell. She confirmed, "Yes, you're really going to be an aunt."
"Oh my God, I'm so happy! I don't know if it's a boy or a girl, but I need to start preparing gifts. I'll buy all the cute little clothes, and you guys better not compete with me," Danielle said excitedly, then added, "I'll come over tonight to see you. Tell Mitchell to cook more of my favorite dishes."
While Willow was on the phone, Mitchell was chatting with Matthew and the others on Facebook before heading out to buy groceries. When he returned and saw she was still on the phone, he went to wash the vegetables. After washing them, he came back in and finally saw her hang up.
Willow looked up and smiled as she informed, "Danielle is coming over for dinner tonight. Cook a couple of her favorite dishes."
"Okay, I already bought the groceries. You should take a nap, and I'll call you when dinner is ready," Mitchell said gently.
Willow felt a bit tired. She had been feeling very sleepy lately, not expecting the pregnancy to hit her so hard. She nodded in agreement. Then she said, "Okay."
After she fell asleep, Mitchell drew the curtains, darkening the room. He quietly left the room and closed the door.
Then, he called both sets of parents to share the news about Willow's pregnancy.
As expected, they wanted to rush to his apartment immediately, but he managed to persuade them otherwise.
With the New Year approaching, Lloyd was out of town giving a lecture, and Patricia was with him. Mitchell suggested they come during the holidays, which wasn't far off, and assured them he would take good care of Willow. Only then did Lloyd and Patricia give up the idea of flying to Horizon City immediately.
Patricia and Jessica were even more insistent. Mitchell had to use his trump card, saying Willow needed rest and they could visit later. Only then did they agree to wait. After hanging up, Jessica started buying a lot of nutritious food, preparing for their visit.
Finally, everyone heard of the good news.
Mitchell sat down, opened his laptop, and began seriously researching pregnancy recipes. He planned to follow the recipes to ensure Willow got the best nutrition.
