Chapter 248 Stargazing
Just as Willow turned around, Jimmy picked her up with one hand and placed her directly on the motorcycle. "What are you doing, Jimmy!" Willow screamed in fright. Jimmy put the helmet on her and then started the vehicle. "Hold on tight." With a twist of the throttle, the motorcycle quickly zoomed out. Willow held onto his clothes tightly in fear. "I'm not going. Let me down, ah, ah, stop the car." Jimmy ignored the screaming Willow behind him and focused on riding the bike, a smirk of victory on his face.
Finally, the motorcycle stopped in front of a shop with a uniquely decorated door. As soon as the vehicle stopped, Willow jumped off the bike, took off her helmet, and angrily yelled at Jimmy, "Jimmy, do you realize this is kidnapping?"
Jimmy's smile faded slightly, and he spoke with a hint of grievance. "I'm sorry. I just saw that you were in a bad mood and wanted to treat you to a meal."
Willow seemed to feel that she had been too harsh, and her voice softened, suppressing her sadness. "I should be the one to apologize; it's not your fault."
Seeing this, Jimmy quickly grabbed Willow's hand and walked toward the shop. "Since we're here, let's give it a try, sis." Willow followed him passively into the shop.
This shop also served Goulash, but its specialty was grilled fish with soup. The entire shop's decoration style incorporated many local elements, and the servers wore specific traditional costumes. Willow followed Jimmy all the way to a secluded booth at the back of the shop. Jimmy asked her what she wanted to eat.
"You decide, I'm fine with anything." Willow put down her bag and sat down. The waiter enthusiastically came over and poured tea for the both of them.
"Alright, I won't let you down since you trust me so much." Jimmy quickly ordered the dishes as if he knew the menu by heart. The pot base quickly arrived, along with the signature soup. Jimmy first served Willow a bowl of soup: "Sis, give it a try. This soup is very appetizing. When my classmates and I come here, we always start with a bowl of soup each."
Willow looked at him suspiciously. When eating Goulash, shouldn't you start with the main dish instead of the soup?
"Really, you should try it, be brave and open to new things, and you will find that there are many interesting things and people in this world." Jimmy stared at Willow, seemingly determined to see her drink it all. With his gaze fixed on her, Willow picked up the bowl of soup and took a sip. It tasted quite good, with a natural tanginess from the tomatoes and a rich aroma from the long stewing process.
"How does it taste?" Jimmy asked anxiously. Willow, as if teasing him on purpose, took another slow sip before nodding. "Not bad."
Jimmy seemed relieved, and he served himself a bowl as well. Just as he had said, he finished the whole bowl in just a few mouthfuls. The waitress started serving dishes at this point. Beef was their specialty, so Jimmy ordered quite a lot. The thinly sliced beef was dipped into the sour soup and paired with a secret sauce, making it very tender and flavorful. Willow particularly enjoyed the spicy beef with fresh peppers, which made her sweat profusely but also gave her a sense of satisfaction.
During this hotpot meal, Willow ate heartily and seemed to have forgotten all her unhappiness. After dinner, Willow's car was still parked at the company, and Jimmy rode his motorbike, saying he would drive her home. Unexpectedly, this guy took a detour halfway and insisted on taking her to see the stars, leading her directly to the top of a mountain.
Standing on the mountaintop at night, it was enveloped in darkness and slightly chilly. Willow was still wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt from the day and involuntarily hugged herself, feeling another piece of clothing draped over her. When she turned around, she saw him taking off his jacket and offering it to her. "I'm not cold. You can wear it." Willow was about to return the coat to him, but he stopped her. "I feel hot. Just wear it." Willow blushed slightly, feeling a bit embarrassed. The two stood side by side, looking up at the sky, with stars shining brightly overhead.
Driving up to the mountaintop felt like entering outer space. It was spacious and quiet, with a sense of overwhelmingness and a little bit of intimidation. But when you look up and see the sparkling starry sky, you instantly realize how beautiful it is.
Neither of them spoke, silently gazing at the starry sky. The last time Willow saw so many stars was when she was very young. Unable to help herself, she reminisced, which always led her to think of Mitchell. After all, he had been there with her throughout her childhood, youth, and now. Looking at the vast starry sky, she couldn't help but feel how small she was standing below it. In fact, she was so lucky - the person she loved had always been by her side, even if in a different capacity. What else could she ask for? Willow looked at the brightest star and silently made a wish: Mitchell, I wish you happiness.
Then she turned to look at the kid, who was clearly shivering from the cold but insisted on claiming he was hot and couldn't help but laugh.
"Sister, did you smile?" said Jimmy, stuttering and unable to hold back a sneeze. He finally saw Willow smile tonight.
Willow put away her smiling face and pretended to be serious. "Let's go, take me home," she said, then turned and walked over to the motorcycle, putting on her helmet.
"Aren't you going to watch?" Jimmy called after her. "The weather forecast said there would be shooting stars tonight. Aren't you going to wait?"
"I'm not waiting anymore. Let's go home," said Willow, putting on her helmet. Seeing that Jimmy still hadn't reacted, she urged, "Hurry up, sister has to go to work tomorrow. If we freeze to death on the mountaintop tonight, it will be tomorrow's front page headline."
Jimmy was indeed freezing. He hadn't imagined that the temperature on the mountaintop would be so low tonight. He quickly put on his helmet and got on the bike. He rode very slowly today, worried that Willow would be scared.
After dropping Willow off at the apartment building, Willow got off the bike and took off her helmet, handing it to him. "Go back quickly. Sister will help you revise your paper," she said, then added, "By the way, you don't need to bring the two boxes of sandwiches. Today's meal makes up for it."
"I invited you to dinner, not because of the paper; I just wanted to treat you to a meal," Jimmy explained seriously. "And I will still bring the sandwiches."
"Suit yourself," Willow said with a smile as she turned and walked toward the apartment entrance.
"Sister!" Jimmy called out to her again.
Willow turned around, her face filled with confusion, waiting for him to speak.
"I found a photo of the idol in the historical exhibition hall of the school library," Jimmy said.
Willow lightly responded and turned to go upstairs. Jimmy watched her back as she left and muttered to himself, "So sister knows the idol."
