Chapter 321 Never Stand Someone Up

Madison had just walked to the kitchen door when she was somewhat shocked by what she saw inside. She saw Matthew wearing an apron as if he was scaling fish. Although his technique was clumsy and inexperienced, he was very serious, not even noticing her standing at the door for a long time. Madison pretended to cough, and Matthew only turned around to see her standing at the kitchen door, with Ophelia's smile inside, "Madison, are you up?" Madison walked in and saw the plates spread out on the stove, shredded meat cleaned vegetables, all prepared. Madison smiled at Matthew, "What are you doing?" The shredded meat was cut larger than the meat slices, and all the tools in the kitchen were used. This was just the preparation stage; they hadn't started cooking yet. Once the oil was heated, the kitchen would surely be in chaos.

Matthew continued to deal with the fish, naturally replying, "I'm preparing lunch, you know?" It seemed like he had always been the one cooking at home. Madison glanced at the dishes he prepared and couldn't help but ask, "Did you prepare all of these? Since when did you start cooking?"

"It's all prepared by me. When you cook, I often watch by the side. Today, I'll show off my skills. I went out early to buy groceries and even brought breakfast snacks for you. Look on the table, although they might not taste good now since they've gotten cold." Matthew tried to please. Madison looked at the table full of dishes and couldn't find the snacks. When she finally found them, they were wet from the water leaked from the live shrimp bought on the side, making them inedible. Madison looked at the snacks in her hand, not sure whether to praise or criticize Matthew.

"All right, let me take over. Since you've done all the washing and cutting, I'll cook." Madison truly doubted his ability to learn and doubted he could prepare a table full of dishes.

Matthew leaned in close to Madison's ear, "Madison, are you not angry anymore?" Madison blushed, "Why should I be angry?" Matthew quickly realized his mistake, "I shouldn't have done that last night..." Madison hurriedly covered his mouth with her hand, "I'm not angry!" Matthew was left with Madison's hand in his, and they both smiled at each other in understanding. Madison also put on an apron, and, as usual, they prepared lunch together in the kitchen.

Hank had been tinkering in the garden for a while, digging up a tree root to take back for Mother Howard, who had been longing for the roses from there. When he returned and saw the two kids still playing with models in the living room, he thought Madison hadn't gotten up yet and asked, "Is Mom still asleep? Where's Dad?"

"Mom's up, cooking with Dad in the kitchen, I think," Quentin replied to his uncle. Hank was somewhat incredulous when he heard that Matthew was cooking, "Dad can cook?"

"Yes, Dad cooks with Mom every day." Hannah, the little girl, said seriously. Hank was about to go to the kitchen to check when he saw Madison and Matthew coming out with plates, "Time to eat, Quentin, Hannah, go wash your hands." The two kids put down their toys and went to wash their hands. Hank looked at the time. It was only half past eleven, "Eating this early today?" he couldn't help but ask. Matthew took off his apron and explained, "Madison didn't have breakfast, so we're having breakfast for lunch." Hank couldn't help but give Madison a thumbs up, thinking to himself that Madison was truly amazing. Even the influential Matthew outside had to yield to Madison at home, obeying her instructions and even cooking himself.

After everyone sat down at the dining table, Hank looked at the oddly shaped dishes and hesitated to start eating. He looked at Madison and asked, "Did you make these, Madison?" He couldn't believe it; he knew his sister's cooking skills. How could she have cut the dishes like this? Quentin and Hannah, on the other hand, happily started discussing how one piece of potato looked like a rabbit and another piece of meat resembled an elephant. The siblings began to claim their respective animal shapes.

"I really cooked these, Hank. Go ahead and eat." Madison served Hank a piece of curry potato in his bowl. Hank hesitated but finally tasted it and recognized the familiar taste, "Although they don't look good, the taste is still Madison's craftsmanship." After speaking, he turned to Matthew, who didn't respond, as he, indeed, hadn't cut the dishes well.

Willow had stood Mitchell up for three days in a row this week. Not only did she not have time to have lunch with him, but she couldn't even accompany him after work. She didn't want to, but a new shopping mall had opened near the company, and there were extensive dining activities. At lunchtime, colleagues always invited her to join, knowing she was single and didn't have to make plans with a boyfriend. The dining deals were enticing, and everyone would go for lunch and even dinner because there were so many restaurants to try. Following the principle of enjoying all discounts, her colleagues were enthusiastic, and even the manager joined them every day.

Willow couldn't find an excuse to refuse, so she had to ditch Mitchell. When Mitchell dropped her off at work in the morning, his face clearly showed his unhappiness. At lunchtime, Willow finally found an excuse to sneak upstairs and have lunch with him.

After the meal, Mitchell hugged her, and when Willow worried someone might come in, Mitchell got up and locked the office door, saying, "Now you don't have to worry." Willow chuckled. Mitchell walked over, sat down with her on his lap, and said, "Let's have dinner together tonight. Don't go out with your department colleagues. I'll wait for you in the car after work." Mitchell gave a direct order; being a boyfriend was tough, as he had to 'compete' with his subordinates for her time.

"All right, no problem. I'll be the first one to rush into the elevator when it's time." Willow confidently agreed because after eating barbecue yesterday, the manager had suggested taking a break for a couple of days as everyone's stomachs couldn't handle the heavy meals every day. So Willow was sure she could have dinner with Mitchell after work today.

"Don't stand me up, or I'll announce our relationship downstairs." Mitchell started to threaten playfully, pretending to be fierce while gently pinching Willow's cheek.

"Mitchell, I swear I won't stand you up today." Willow confidently raised her hand to swear.
